Welcome to our beautiful house at Gnesta, Sweden

The house is surrounded by beautiful forest and garden which gives access to lovely forest walks where you can pick blueberries in the summer and mushrooms in the autumn. It is an indescribable feeling to wake up early in the morning, have a cup of coffee, sit on the balcony and watch nature wake up. Breathe fresh air that is still a little humid after the night, listen to birds, and enjoy nature. In the living room there is a fireplace for heating during chilly autumn and spring.

Holiday home close to beautiful lake

Only one hour’s drive by car from Stockholm (35 min from Stockholm Skavsta Airport) you find this calm and relaxing place where peace of nature is easy to find. Perched on a small hillside where the wind rarely blows this house offers a serene getaway. Go for a swim at the lake just a few hundred meters away or just relax on the spacious deck. The place is equally beautiful in winter when you can curl up with a book by the fire or connect with nature from the veranda.

This little cottage (stuga) is next to our main house close to the center of Södertälje. It is built 1847 but with modern facilities. There is only one room, it has a sofa bed and a simple extra bed. There is central heating + a heater. The kitchen includes a microwave, a small stove and fridge/freezer. You have your independence, but we are at hand if you should need anything. In the summer you can sit out in the garden and enjoy the sun.

Two small rooms with kitchenette in the hall. Bathroom. Sheets, towels and cleaning are not included in the price, the guest bring their own and clean the cottage before leaving, unless other agreement is made with the host. The cottage is heated. At arrival a fire have been lit, but for a continous cozy burning fire the guest bring their own firewood. Bags can be found at the local petrol station. Washing machine in separate building.

The tranquility of the forest

The place is very close to nature. The wild animals, access to the forest and the tranquility are fantastic. At the same time, it is only 5 minutes, so you are on the highway to Stockholm (1 hour.), Trosa (20min) or Nyköping with Skavsta airport (30min). The chance to see wildlife here is almost 100%, mostly deer. If you want to be sure to see moose, wild boar etc. we can recommend a wildlife park in Öster malma, just 20 min from here.

On the entry level there is a kitchenette and bathroom. We are a family with two children who live on the farm. We have a dog and a cat (they walk freely on the plot ). We have no other animals but next to our property is a horse farm.

The charming wing is situated high and beautiful on a farm at Storsjön, 70 km from Stockholm between Gnesta (10 km) and Mariefred (20 km) both with train connections. The grand piano is nicely renovated with part in its own garden. You have access to your own jetty with the possibility of a sauna by the lake. To Trosa and the sea it is 35 km, Nyköping 45 km.

Very nice house with a lot of sleeping places. There was no large dining room for dinner but extra chairs and tables so you could arrange it in the living room. We were very happy! Great with sauna and water so close

Charming cottage in Gnesta

It was our first trip to Sweden and we had a wonderful stay with our three kids in the house of Hendrik. Everything we needed was there and we all felt like home from the beginning. The location was perfect for us - in the middle of nature but only 30 minutes away from Stockholm by train. One of our best trips was to "Stendörren naturreservatet", which we can highly recommend specially with kids. Our highlight after returning from a long day in Stockholm was a elk with two kids in the garden of the house. For sure it was not our last holiday in Sweden and we would be more than happy to stay a second time in Hendriks house.

Nice smaller loft cottage with free parking

It's lovely to stay at Kerstin's place. There is peace and quiet all around you. The beautiful nature is fully present, but you are also close to small towns such as Gnesta. From there you are by train in and half an hour in Stockholm. Kerstin is a warm and friendly host. And yes, we also loved showering outside!

A wooden dining table is set near a window that offers a view of the snow-covered landscape and lake. A vase with red tulips and a festive candelabra are positioned on the table, while soft natural light fills the room.

Charming house with personality and character! Wonderful view over the lake. We had missed the information about the cat, but it was just a cozy bonus to our stay. Maria was quick and clear in communication, accommodating and flexible when it came to our requests! My warmest recommendations.

She is very flexible, it is very easy to get in with a friendly host who does everything to make it easier for the guest. Room was clean and as described, I would highly recommend.

Cozy little house close to swimming lake

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was clean and offered everything that we needed. We all had fun playing the drums and relaxing in the garden. The beds were comfortable and the surroundings very serene. The lake is just a short walk away and the grocery store a short drive... a day trip to Stockholm was also manageable as the drive was only approximately one hour. For those looking for some peace and quiet...look no further. Thanks for everything!!
