Family-friendly vacation rentals in Gilmer County

Unfortunately due to a storm the power was out. They did their best to find us an alternative cabin and were very helpful.

Cabin was beautiful and decorated for Christmas; the back porch was perfect to relax with a cup of coffee in the mornings. Very cozy and the wood burning fireplace was amazing. Highly recommend.

Fantastic cabin, we travel often and it was secluded had every bring you Need and outstanding views, clean and hist oasis cabin were extremely responsive and attentive to details. Will book again!

The reviews for this amazing cabin speak for themselves. Our time here was perfect. It’s far enough away from things to be quiet, but close enough to drive to stores and parks to be convenient. My girlfriend and I loved the fireplace out on the deck, we had our coffee and breakfast out by the fire each morning. We wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again, if in the area. 5 star all the way! Don’t think too much about it, you’ll love this classy place like we did.

This was such a beautiful cabin for our family getaway. It literally had everything we needed and so much more. It was perfect for the R&R we desired and when we wanted to get out and about they had tons of recommendations and information on local must sees. We would definitely book again and hope to again one day soon! Highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed.

Ken and Sandy’s Place was wonderful. Tucked away along the river, we enjoyed all the porches on all levels of the house. The hot tub was perfect and we saw deer every day we were there. Wonderful couple of days and we would absolutely return.

This cabin was perfect for our party of 7. it accommodated us well. There was plenty of space, bathrooms, and it had everything we needed plus more. The location was perfect for the escape from the every day hussle and bussel and close enough for exploring the surrounding cities. The host were very thoughtful and it included everything we needed down to makeup removers and fire wood. We will be back for a more extended stay. I highly recommend it for anyone needing space to accommodate a family or group. The instructions for check in and out and everything in-between were very clear and the welcome package was very nice.

Absolutely great location with wonderful views that can be enjoyed on the deck or at the dining table looking through the window! Gated community with gravel roads that were easily accessible with our Ford Explorer but would recommend 4x4 while you are staying if the weather forecasts is expecting heavy rains or snow in the winter. We will look to see if this cabin is available again if we ever come back to visit near Ellijay!

The Cabin is set right on Carters Lake. The view from the wrap around porch is gorgeous. Everything was exactly as described and the price was very reasonable. If you’re a morning person, going out on the porch a half hour before sunrise and watching the night turn into day over the lake is just beautiful. This was fantastic for our three night stay. On a longer stay, I think the lack of amenities (no internet, washer dryer, you are the dishwasher) would have worn on me. Still 5 stars because all of that was disclosed before renting, and they delivered exactly what they described, and that view…

SOOO worth it. Amazing area, you can tell a lot of love went into it. owners are so sweet, I will be back! Please give this family more business, they are the utmost deserving!! Felt welcome.

Michele was so lovely! We had a wonderful and relaxing stay at this cabin and are looking forward to coming again. The view is breathtaking and the cabin is beautiful. Close to downtown blue ridge.

Lovely home and surroundings. Plenty of room for two couples and private areas to get away from each other. Rained a lot, and we were able to sit and enjoy under two porches if wind changed. Rested & relaxed from roar of water below. Deer everywhere and spring was springing! Would go again.

Very nice place nestled in the woods. Plenty of games to keep the kids occupied. Close to the lake which we walked down to a couple of times. We enjoyed our stay.

Nick's place is a great choice for anyone looking for a home away from home. Great location close to blue ridge and about 1.5 hours from Helen. It was the perfect place to decompress after a day of exploring. Hot tub was a huge plus and bathroom was very clean. Overall very happy with my stay.

A dreamy escape and the heart of our family vacation! From start to finish, this cabin was everything we hoped for and more. Kurt and Sheila were amazing hosts, always kind, quick to respond, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a wonderful stay. The land surrounding the cabin is stunning. We spent our days exploring the creek, wandering the woods, and even foraging a bit. It gave our family the perfect balance of adventure and serenity. The cabin layout was a huge win for our group. All the major bedrooms are on the first floor, and the walk-in showers made everything comfortable and accessible for our family members with mobility concerns. It’s rare to find a place that feels so cozy while also being so thoughtfully designed. We had no trouble finding the property using GPS, but the hosts provided detailed directions just in case, which we really appreciated. We’re already dreaming of our next trip back. We can’t recommend it enough.

Great location! Small cozy guest house. Parking spot was tight for our large 2500 but we made it work. Recommendations were great.

This cabin is fantastic and Joeseph and Lorena were great at communicating. I ended up proposing to my girlfriend at this cabin and they were accommodating to make everything perfect. There were so many thoughtful gestures like a personalized sign and have other cool things like deer feed and bird feed. The pictures of this cabin don’t do it justice! Views are amazing, clean, and all of the games you could ever want to play. The only thing I would note before you book is make sure you put the correct amount of people staying. Even though the cabin sleeps 8, I only reserved with 2 because I didn’t know how many were staying. There is a fee for anyone over your reserved amount. I ended up having 3 others stay for a total of 5 and still had to pay extra for them. Something to note. Everything was amazing and would recommend to anyone to stay here!

Place was great and peaceful

The cabin was lovely and in great condition. There were issues of communication steming from what Airb&b shares with the host. If this could get worked out, I would have no complaints. We did have an issue of septic flooding on our final night which the host was highly apologetic about and quick to address even though it was late at night and below freezing. The host was friendly, the resort was nice, and the trails would have been so fun if we had not been too cold to walk to explore them. Had it been warmer, there was beautiful scenery and much to explore. Fair warning, apple maps works great on the resort property but Google maps will take you in crazy directions.

Loved the cabin. Great for a getaway. Had a great time and hopefully will be coming back soon!

Perfect location for our annual trout fishing trip.

Terri was a wonderful host. She gave us hiking and restaurant ideas and was accommodating to our 1 year old who can be a handful. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Big Canoe.

What a delightful place to stay. Plenty of room for the seven of us. It was great having the choice of playing ping pong, billiards, and such. Hiking was close by, and we were able to see multiple falls. So beautiful and peaceful.
