The cottage is the oldest house in the village, it guarded the entrance to the Abbey of the Benedictines of Etrun. The Abbey was founded in 980 and destroyed during the revolution in 1789. The whole has been listed as a Historic Monument. In 1815 Cardinal De La TOUR d'AUVERGNE decided to build his "Summer Residence" of which the surrounding walls still exist, as well as some period elements. In 1915, General Pétain made it his headquarters and commanded the Battle of Artois from these places.

This amazing vacation home guarantees fun with the whole family or with friends. The private swimming pool is heated from March 25 to November 11, and the cozy outdoor sauna is always accessible. There are also 2 bathrooms and 2 separate toilets. The dense location of the Belgian coast and tourist cities such as Bruges are huge assets. The vacation home with sun terrace is completely separate between the fields without any view from neighbors.

Eikenburg Manor is a reconstruction farm (after WWI) with an over-accentuation of various building elements from that time. These create a unique atmosphere, along with the tranquil setting among the farmland near Ypres. An ideal base for young and old for fun, relaxing or perhaps educational trips to make.
