Monthly Rentals in Foulness Island

We had an excellent stay at Henry's place. A beautiful historic cottage with eclectic and interesting touches. Henry clearly has an eye for design and this quirky and charming property has it all. The garden is wonderful and a overall a great place to get away from it. Location is excellent, less than 5 mins puts you to shops restaurants and historic riverfront but without losing its peacefulness. Henry's local knowledge, responsiveness and amenable nature helped make our stay even better.

We spent a very happy Christmas at the house visiting relatives in the area. The house is well appointed and extremely comfortable - though you do need to be a fan of soft beds (which I am). Everything worked and was scrupulously clean. The only problem we had was that the fuse for the cooker and oven had been tripped before we arrived but there was a rapid response to our (panicky) phone call and we were able to locate the fuse board. The area only has one small shop but it's a fairly quick walk or train ride to the town. Overall very nice stay and we had lots to do around Southend including the pantomime and the Helen Mirren phone box / museum! Worth a quick look. (I think it was on the corner of Alexander Road and Cashiobury Terrace). Anyway, thank you.

Host was really helpful and quick to respond. Apartment is as seen in the pictures and did not disappoint. Lovely little spot, made us feel at home. Will definitely stay again.

Fantastic stay! Melanie was very friendly and very helpful. She respected our privacy completely yet was also very generous to us too with what she gave us! The property is detached and was very clean ... all as shown with no surprises. Very, very peaceful setting surrounded by open fields and wildlife, set at the very end of the lane... A great way to relax was to just sit with the glass lounge doors open and breathe it in. Private safe parking right on the property so no problems there at all, but then the whole area seemed totally safe and is very out the way anyway. Generous size bedrooms and beds (with plenty of wardrobe and drawer space), kitchen had loads in it like cutlery, pans, plates, glasses etc (everything worked well). The lounge was very welcoming with big comfy sofas, a wood burner and large TV (and large table/chairs to eat at). Outside table and chairs too for those sunny evenings! All in all, very highly recommended!! Lovely stay!
