Come and relax at Casa de las Aves, the House of the Birds, a comfortable and peaceful lakeside country house where more than 80 species of birds have been seen. Casita Tomate is a cosy little house in a small white washed village . The house has original wooden beams and a low door accessing the terrace. It is a great place to relax, unwind, and explore this part of Spain. The village is surrounded by hills on 3 sides and accessed by what was once an old mule track, which now has concrete and aspelt. There are no shops, restaurants or bars in the village . These together with beaches are found in coastal Castell de Ferro, which is 7.5km away.

There are several hiking routes from the village and free public parking within approximately 4 minutes walk.

Situated in the quaint village of Válor a traditional Alpujarran pueblo (15 minute drive - Ugijar & 25 minutes from Cádiar). Especially recommended for hikers, and people who do not mind a short uphill walk to the alto barrio. Located near the centre of the village, close to the pharmacy, shops, bank and bars. The local swimming pool is also just a short walk away (open July & August)
