Monthly Rentals in Flotta

We really loved our first week on Orkney a big part of which was this fabulous accommodation. We loved the view from the lounge window. We also loved cycling to Deerness and seeing the Group, lunch at the distillery was very welcome. On our last day whilst waiting for the overnight ferry to Shetland we went to Rousay and had a lovely ride around the island. Hope to be back one day.

Lounge/kitchen and bathroom downstairs, double bedroom upstairs, neat small garden and deck. Bright and airy, just like in the photos. Admirably clean throughout. Comfortable bed. Welcoming selection of books and games, also nice welcome pack of goodies. All kitchen staples were there, so no need to run to the shops for salt or Fairy liquid! The weather forecast was iffy, so Cathy provided logs and kindling for the log burner. It turned out that they were not needed: the heat pump did its job. We loved the cottage and St Margaret’s Hope, a small sleepy village near the ferry terminal. The cottage might not be suitable for more elderly guests as the stairs up to the bedroom are quite steep. The village might be too small and sleepy for others. Top marks for us though.

Old hall is in a fabulous location with beautiful walks and a lovely, swimmable beach accessible from the door. the house is comfortable, fully equipped, scrupulously clean and Sandra is a very responsive host ☺️ we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. top tip: we did need to use our eye masks as the room is quite light with the early sun.

My friends and I loved the space and light and comfort of the Kirk. We came all the way from Norfolk on trains and ferries and fell in love with the land and seas and community of Hoy. The peace is deep here ... no background hum. I love to see the sea around me. We cycled over to Rackwick Bay which was exhilarating and went to cafe church at Emily's which was connecting.
