Island vacation rentals in Finland

Wir hatten eine tolle Zeit auf Katjas Insel, katja hat uns ein tolles Buster-boot zur Verfügung gestellt, als dieses kaputt ging hat sie uns sofort unterstützt den transport und die Reperatur organisiert. Katjas Insel ist wirklich sehr schön und bietet alles was man braucht die sauna ist super und heizt sehr schnell, auf der Insel kann man viele Tiere beobachten (Vögel, Otter, Mink) Wir hatten auch viele Bücher, Spiele, SUP, Ruderboot und ein kleines Segelboot zur Verfügung. Katja war für uns immer erreichbar und hat uns immer unterstützt die war stets freundlich und zuvorkommend. Etwas mühsam war, das der Abfluss in der Küche nicht funktionierte und es kaum Platz gab (Schränke) um die eigenen Kleider einzuräumen. Sonst waren wir aber sehr zufrieden und wir kommen gerne wieder. Danke Katja für diese tolle Zeit.

We hebben enorm genoten van het prachtige huisje van Sari en haar man. Ze zijn allebei enorm gastvrij en behulpzaam. De locatie, direct aan het meer, is prachtig en in de omgeving valt veel te ontdekken. Ook super dat we, zonder extra kosten, gebruik konden maken van kano’s en SUP board. De, houtgestookte, sauna was ook geweldig. Een onvergetelijke ervaring!

The accommodation, environment and Jani were just excellent. We spent two great weeks on the island and would like to come back. There are two saunas and a hot tub for free use. Some craftsmanship in dealing with wood and the boat are recommended. For anglers the accommodation has a perfect location and fishing success is guaranteed once you get used to the water conditions and fishing grounds.

Wonderful place to go especially with kids. Sari and her husband Johannes are the kindest hosts you can imagine and it was super nice that they made the effort to come and chat with us just to get to know each other better. You cannot ask for more to make anyone super welcome. We even got a bottle of freshly made juice to take home with us (+some welcome home made blue berry muffins). Never had hosts that made such an effort. They also have so many options to make the best use of the wonderful warm lake such as kayaks and sup boards. The open kitchen may take a moment to get used to but has everything that you need. Luckily we had the place for ourself as I believe it is usually shared. Do not know how that may feel. All in all we had an amazing time not only due to the beautiful location but especially thanks to Sari and Johannes. Dankeschön & Kiitos

A truly magical place, your own little universe. A quiet and peaceful place like this is not easy to come by these days, especially not with all the modern amenities that Pirjo's place offers. Private sauna, comfortable beds, a well-equipped kitchen, fast WiFi, near-total isolation with a town still in reach... I could go on. A true gem in the middle of the beautiful Finnish nature and without a doubt the best Airbnb I ever stayed at. Pirjo herself is an amazing host. Not only did she always reply quickly and very helpfully – she went out of her way multiple times to accommodate and go the extra mile for me, organizing helpful things for me that I didn't even ask her to. I am so grateful to Pirjo, whose hospitality has been the cherry on top of this amazing vacation-cake. Also the island's caretaker, Heikki, was super nice and helpful and I'm happy to have met him. Sadly I didn't meet Pirjo to thank her in person but I hope we will once I inevitably come back for another stay.

We had a fantastic and wonderfully relaxing time on this beautiful little private island. The island and the surrounding area are marvellous, beautifully quiet and the opportunity to explore the area by motorboat was a special experience for us. The hosts were also very friendly and very accommodating. Many thanks again and we would love to come back!

Wir haben eine wunderbare Ferienzeit auf Larissas Insel-Ferienhaus verbracht. Unsere 3 Familien haben sich gleich wohl gefühlt in diesem großen, sehr persönlichen Haus im südlichen Schärengarten Finnlands, ab vom Schuss und doch recht nah an Kotka und Helsinki. Vom Flughafen ist es nur eine Stunde bis zum Anleger und von dort ist man bald auf der Insel. Das Ferienhaus liegt herrlich an der Südspitze der Insel. Es gibt viel Platz zum Verweilen drinnen (4 separate Schlafzimmer sind wirklich außergewöhnlich) und draußen, den ganzen Tag Sonne und Wind. So vergehen die Wochen (zu) schnell. Die Küche ist sehr gut ausgestattet. Auch mit einer großen Tafel alles kein Probelm, erneut wieder sowohl drinnen als auch draußen. Die neue Sauna wird schnell warm. Sie bietet eine schöne Aussicht auf das Meer. Larissa ist eine tolle Gastgeberin und so hatten wir sehr schöne Tage. Die Villa Vonkka empfehle ich uneingeschränkt, etwas Erfahrung im Inselleben vorausgesetzt.

Wow, what a great place to land on this planet! Kasper has done an incredible job of combining historical archipelago lifestyle with modern services. The guest room upstairs in the main house was spacious, relaxing and comfortable. It also had an amazing view. Do come and stay and you will be rewarded with magical time travel experience that cleanses your hard drive brain of all stress and and clutter, and resets your batteries and socializing cache so you can ready for whatever comes next.

Wir hatten ein schönes langes Wochenende im Mökki mit Sauna, Fischen, BBQ und Spielen mit den Kindern. Das Haus liegt gut am Wasser, um einen schönen Tag mit viel Licht zu verbringen.

Perinteinen mökki yhdelle tai kahdelle hengelle erinomaisella hinta-laatusuhteella. Oma alue on suurempi, kuin mitä kuvista voisi päätellä. Kommunikointi ja sovitut kyydit saareen toimivat hyvin. Petteri oli koko vierailun ajan helposti tavoitettavissa, joskaan ongelmia ei ilmennyt.

Ha sido una experiencia maravillosa, totalmente recomendable, para repetir y quedarnos más días. Vesa es un anfitrión estupendo, nos estaba esperando aunque se nos hizo tarde, el acceso a la cabaña de película, muy bonito, con el camino iluminado con "velas" naturales, en moto de nieve. La caballa estaba muy caliente, tiene de todo, es auténtica, acogedora, la sauna es genial. Me ha encantado todo, muchas, muchas gracias!!

Vietimme mökillä aivan ihanan ja rentouttavan loman! Paikka ja maisema oli mahtava, mökki varusteineen vastasi täysin kuvausta ja Inga oli valtavan ystävällinen, avulias ja joustava. Tätä paikkaa ei voi kuin suositella! :)

This place was the absolute highlight of our trip to Finland! It's the most beautiful little island and everything was very clean and tidy. We really enjoyed it and would love to return one day.

Ihana saarikohde! Kauniit maisemat, tilava sauna ja palju oli huippu rannalla. Mahtuu isompikin porukka majoittumaan. Kiva kesäkeittiö, jossa kattavasti kaikkea kokkailuun ja kattaukseen. Yhteydenpito majoittajaan sujui helposti ja nopeasti. Koko majoittujaporukka (12 henk.) suosittelee lämpimästi paikkaa.

Todella mukava majoittaja. Mökki rauhaisella paikalla saarella. Hyvät löylyt saunassa. Viestintä majoittajan kanssa sujuvaa. Kiitos!

We have stayed in this cottage on the island twice now. We love it! So unique, nicely decorated and so peaceful. I hope I could spend a weekend in this place once a month! Like a retreat for the soul. Please know that you should be familiar with rowing and warming up a Finnish sauna. There are not many directions on how to use everything and the rowing is definitely longer than 5min. It would be lovely if the cottage was checked between guests (this time there was a bag of the dirty linens in the cottage when we arrived) but we understand since the host is renting multiple places and this cottage is on an island. If you want to experience peace in beautiful Finnish archipelago away from all of the noise and business then this place is for you. Just remember to switch off your cellphone!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour sur l’île. Timo est un hôte très réactif et flexible. Les quelques problèmes que nous avons rencontrés ont été résolus très rapidement, avant même que nous nous en rendions compte nous-mêmes. Attention quand même, le niveau de confort dépend du nombre de voyageurs et de la saison.
