Really helpful host and lovely location!

We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Beautiful location for a lovely farm stay, great views from the hot tub! Loved being able to watch the cows and sheep. Claire was lovely and was ready to help at any moment despite us arriving so late at night! Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We really appreciated the little human touches on arrival; welcome card, cookies, etc. That was a touch of class. But overall, the property, wow. There is nothing about it that made us think, we want, or need more. A highly recommended place to stay, immersed in pure beauty, with endless opportunities to maximise the experience. Big thank you again for having us. I/we will be back for sure.

What a wonderful spot and cottage to fully unwind for a couple of days. The cottage is set in the most peaceful and beautiful of settings, with easy access to the lake and beach area. The cottage was quirky, quaint and eclectic and we all felt at home and relaxed as soon as we stepped in. The added extra touches from Mark and Ruth were lovely and we felt really welcomed to their space. The cottage has everything you need and it made for a peaceful and relaxing few days to relax and recharge. Thanks again for letting us stay.

We chose to stay here due to its location for walking and exploring the mountains, especially Scafell Pike. The hot tub was a must as we have enjoyed the use of one every year we've been away. The cottage is stunning and the views are beautiful. Everything you need is in the cottage and the standard furnishing is high. Lisa was accommodating as we had 3 hounds. During our holiday we had a problem with the hot tub and Lisa was really helpful, responsive and advised us what to do. We would definitely come back and recommend the footage to friends and family.

What an absolute gem we found in Apple House. The pictures really don't do the whole place justice! A cosy, romantic house set in beautiful, serene surroundings. It really was the perfect location for our mini moon! Was lovely to be greeted by the chickens and Russel the dog each morning <3 We were treated to some tasty welcome gifts and the place was spotless, very comfy bed and just the most charming decor. Thank you so much Emma and Craig! We will definitely be returning with more of our family!

An excellent cottage walking distance to the town centre. Close to pubs and shops. The property was in excellent condition and the welcome pack was very nice. Excellent stay.

We had a wonderful stay! Beautiful cottage in a gorgeous location. Clean inside with everything you need. Lots of lovely walks nearby with pubs in walking distance. Perfect base to explore the Lake District. We also had excellent communication from Rebecca who couldn’t have done more to help out!

Had a fabulous time here for my husband's birthday. cottage was beautiful and exactly what we wanted. It was the little extras from Emma and Greg that made it super special. we'll definitely be back. I would definitely recommend - perfect xxx

Lovely, cosy cottage. Very warm, despite the inclement weather. Under floor heating was lovely! We lit a fire one evening, although we didn't really need it, and it was great!

I would move here tomorrow. Such a perfectly quiet getaway at the foothills of Skidaw surrounded by nature and with a kind and caring host. Thank you for everything Alison and we cannot wait to come back and see more ducklings soon xx

Fantastic place to stay! Peaceful & quiet, yet still so close to the centre of Keswick. We had a great 4 nights spent hiking in the day, and enjoying the local pubs/restaurants/bars at night. Would absolutely recommend! ⭐️

We really enjoyed our stay, perfect getaway for a couple and so close to the local amenities. Centre of town less than 5 minute walk and not much longer to walk to Derwent water. Hosts left some delicious home made brownies and were super helpful with questions. Free parking pass in local car parks as no parking on the road. Cottage is on a small busy road so a bit noisy at times and loading up to leave was tricky. Overall we highly recommend this cottage, we felt so at home and really enjoyed the open log fire which was made up and ready to light.

My wife and I stayed 4 nights at Crook a Beck Barn. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. It is well equipped, with a great kitchen, plenty of wardrobe space and a large walk in shower alongside a large bath. It is in a peaceful setting with beautiful views and has all levels of walks available straight from the property. We enjoyed the extras especially the lemon drizzle cake made by Judith. We will definitely books this property again on our next visit to Patterdale.

This was our second stay at The Haven and it was just as lovely as we remembered! Beautiful surroundings and extremely clean, the property had everything we needed. Highly recommend and we look forward to returning in the future!

We had a wonderful stay. The place is so cozy with beautiful and peaceful surroundings. The kitchen is spacious and well stocked with proper utensils. The beds are very comfortable too.

We needed a place handy enough for my friend to make his first ascent of Scafell Pike. Madonna 's place is well placed for that and for walking in the SW Lakes. In fact, it's in a lovely location, the Esk Valley. It's quiet, surrounded by farmland and grazing animals, handy for the coast, handy for the mountains and only a short walk from a station on the Ravenglass and Eskdale railway. It's simple, clean, comfortable accommodation. Recommend !

The River Barn exceeded all of our expectations and was even more beautiful than the pictures portrayed. The River Barn was very comfortable (the bed was awesome) and all amenities to prepare meals, enjoy a BBQ or go on a picnic were readily available. The location was perfect for our purposes; we greatly appreciated the beautiful and peaceful surroundings of the property but it also provided easy access to Windemere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick where we enjoyed going on several walks. We can't say enough positive comments about our host, Otto communicated with us on several occasions and provided us with lots of information --- where to eat, where to visit and nearby walks. If interested in enjoying a delicious Sunday roast, be sure to reserve a table early at one of the two pubs within easy walking distance. We highly recommend staying at the River Barn and can't wait to visit again!!

Karen was really helpful throughout booking and helped make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. We loved the cottage and the surrounding village was perfect for our trip to the lakes.
