Telegraph Station Stays

The stay exceeded our expectations. Bed rooms were bigger than expected. Basic starter pack was perfect as we arrived very late. It felt like a family home from the moment we arrived. Enjoyed the Coonawarra experience. Thanks Melissa and Meredith

Dufholme Cottage;

KenRating, 5 stars2 months ago
Lovely little cottage with a proper rustic feel. It was as clean as it could be. Checkin instructions were perfectly fine for us. Our (lovely) neighbour checking in to the nearby cabin however had trouble in the dark and ended up knocking on our door for a midnight chat leading to a surprisingly wonderful interaction between strangers in a strange place in a late hour of the night. T&J you made our stay entirely memorable. Haha.. Thanks Denise for a comfortable stay, we picked a good temperature day/night to stay.

Cherrypool Cottage @ Rocklands Retreat

NatashaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Rocklands Retreat is such a gorgeous place! We booked the Cherrypool cottage and it was beautiful! The surroundings were beautiful and walkable. We enjoyed seeing animals in the surroundings. Our cottage didn’t have any salt so I messaged Johanna who was so lovely and brought over salt for us which was very much appreciated! Turns out we ended up booking the cottage my in-laws had stayed at years ago so it was especially lovely for them to revisit those memories. I would definitely book again!

Perfect spot for a weekend of climbing. It’s a beautifully renovated building, a space full of character, and with everything you need. It was great to come back to a hot shower and cosy bed after a big day on the wall. We had a great time.

The Old Post Office

MaisieRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The old post office is an amazing place to stay. A really close walk to the river, we spent our mornings huddled up by the banks with a coffee in hand. Everything about Liz's place was perfect, super clean, and even provided little jams, teas, and coffee in the kitchen! For dinner, or just an afternoon bev, the Bunyip hotels is 2 doors down and offers cold drinks, a lovely beer garden on the riverbank, and friendly Victorian hospitality. Overall a fantastic place to stay as a base for hiking southern Gariwerd or just to escape to a wonderful country town for a night or two. Can't recommend enough.

The Yellow Duck

RobertRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The Yellow Duck was the perfect place to stay. Great location, very quiet, and so clean and tidy. Lee was very responsive to any requests or questions and very happy to offer advice on the area that related to the reason for my visit. There was a nice touch of a welcoming bottle of wine and chocolates. I would highly recommend the Yellow Duck as a place to stay. It had all amenities that one may need whilst on the road or a weekend away. Hopefully next year when the annual Red Tailed cockatoo count is on, I can utilize the Yellow Duck accommodation again. Thank you Lee for a wonderful place to stay

A very peaceful farm stay for our young family between Adelaide and Melbourne. We loved the chickens and sheep and the wood fire. Limited phone reception so perfect to unplug. It is an old house but comfortable and peaceful with a very responsive and kind host
