Bristol Beautiful Garden Apartment

This is a sunny, light high ceilinged apartment on the garden level of this impressive Grade 2 listed 200 year old Georgian house set on a hill in Montpelier, Bristol. The owner lives on the top 2 levels of the property. The apartment has its own side door at the bottom of the side steps (with iron handrail) with access to a south facing terrace overlooking the garden. The terrace is for sole use of the apartment and access to the garden is allowed if there are children staying (there is a 2 metre drop down to the vegetable patch at the end of the garden so young ones will need to be supervised for safety) This is ideal for 2 people but there is a new small double sofa bed in the living room.(available for £25 per stay). There is also a solid fold out bed. There is a large travel cot available for £20 for the length of stay (payable after arrival). Also free of charge high chair and light weight buggy suitable for a toddler. The price for two people total is for two people sharing the bed in the bedroom. If the sofa bed is also needed when there is two people staying there is an extra charge of £25 for the stay which covers the extra cleaning and rotary ironin time for the cleaner. There are black out blinds in both the bedroom and living room. Everything has been refurbished personally by the owner (and there is a lot of white!) so respect would be very much appreciated about the decor. It is 50 square metres in total area. The kitchen includes an induction hob and oven which makes cooking even safer, and there is also a slimline Bosch dishwasher. A fire extinguisher, carbon monoxide and a smoke alarm are fitted. The area is a resident parking and permit only area (between the weekday hours of 9am-5pm and free on the weekends and overnight. I will supply permits free of charge for your car only. If you are staying longer than a week please let me know if you need a pass for longer than a month as I might have to apply for more passes from the council. please let me know how many days you will need and I will organise the virtual permits once I have your car details. There are NO real fires allowed. Montpelier is a very tranquil, peaceful but atmospheric area. It is steeped in history including Cary Grant being one of its past residents and presently home to members of the group Massive Attack. The area is known for its friendliness and as a very arty, quite green, bohemian area full of musicians, artists, actors, students and with a rainbow of backgrounds and ages. There are great places to eat within a 5 minute walk: famous to Bristolians are; a great restaurant called Bianchis, Poco’s, then there is The Thali Cafe with live music on Sundays, Indian and tasty burger takeaways along with pizza places close by and a lot of other interesting tastes. A late opening convenience store just a couple of minutes walk away from the apartment and also 'Better Foods' an organic food store and coffee shop. There is a local bakers "Herberts" which bakes for many restaurants in Bristol and there is an abundance of eating places and trendy bars to choose from either nearby (10 min walk) on Stokes Croft, Cheltenham Road or Gloucester Road (15 min walk, which also has plenty of well known live jazz venues), St. Andrews and Montpelier Park are both close by and also there is a very enjoyable free city farm only a short walk through the allotments (with a great pub next door with garden aptly named The Farm!) There is also an impressive climbing centre in a converted church. Other than the huge shopping complex of Cabots Circus only 15 minute walk away including House of Fraser, Apple and all the other famous stores, you also have all the fun and quirky independent stores of Gloucester Road which are also only a 15 minute walk away. Montpelier train station can take you via a 10/15 minute journey to Temple Meads station, from where you can either take a 12 minute train journey to central Bath or straight to Cardiff if you fancy. If travelling by car, the apartment is 5 minutes from junction 3 of the M32 or a 30 minute drive to Bath or an hour to Cardiff. The apartment's street name means a 2 wheeled cart so it is very narrow, so even though there is parking it is wise to park on the next street up and walk 100 metres if you are wary of parking so close to a wall! Bristol airport is 10 miles (16km) away which takes 30 minutes by car or there is a bus to the nearby bus and coach station. From Montpelier train station you can go 10 minutes straight to Clifton, or even further to Severn Beach to see the Welsh bridges over the River Severn. Bristol has so many things to offer: Clifton Suspension Bridge, the Water Front, art galleries including The Arnolfini, museums including the At Bristol (science museum), Sea Aquarium, boat rides, SS Great Britain, an abundance of music venues, beautiful parks and The Downs, Hot air ballooning, kite flying, Bristol Old Vic and The Tobacco Factory, art house cinemas or just sitting down and people watching. Wales, The Cotswolds, The Wye Valley, north Devon beaches, The Forest of Dean and Oxford are all about an hour's drive so plenty of things to do, and places to see and walk. There is a minimal cleaning fee, but if left in a mess or rugs etc soiled there will be a charge for the extra cleaning and any broken items. Tea, coffee, kettle, fridge, microwave & toaster (no oven or hob). 10 min taxi from Temple Meads train station. Free off-road parking. Beautifully quiet location beside River Avon.

The Old Stable, between Bath and Bristol

Half way between Bath and Bristol is our charming and cosy eighteenth century newly renovated old stable. This unique space is the perfect retreat for two in a village location with Georgian Bath six miles in one direction and vibrant Bristol six miles in the other. And when you want to escape from the delights of these very different cosmopolitan centres there are many beautiful walks here on the edge of the Cotswolds to explore, with two lovely country pubs within walking distance.
