Guest house Mökki is located in Shinano-cho, blessed with forests, lakes and snow in northern Nagano Prefecture. Nearby, there are many natural sightseeing spots such as Kurohime Highlands, Lake Nojiri, and Togakushi. Our guesthouse is in a beautiful mountain village, near to it are pristine forests with beech trees and an ancient mountain path that was used to carry sea products from Japan sea to Kyoto in old days. In front of the guesthouse runs a stream that is a source of Lake Biwa and its water is crystal clear ; in early summer nights many fireflies fly over the stream. In winter, we have a lot of snow ; sometimes it reaches 2 meters from the ground! On clear nights you can enjoy the sky full of stars.

We have another beautiful self contained house nearby which caters for up to 6 people. Have a look “South Coast House “ 屋久島の南部にある人気の観光スポット「平内海中温泉」が近い日本家屋です。湯泊温泉と共に徒歩圏内です。人気の登山コースからは遠いのでレンタカーをお勧めします。

This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Our cottage is located on a hillside on the Southern tip of the Izu peninsula. It is surrounded by lush forests, mountains and our fruit and vegetable gardens, with a beautiful view of the Pacific ocean. The cottage is suitable for long term stays. This tranquil space would be a lovely retreat for people interested in the country lifestyle, or those who are looking for a secluded setting to work, focus on creative activities or enjoy a quiet holiday without disturbance.

Sugiyama is located in the Kyoto Station business district, 10-15 minutes walk from Kyoto Station, a detached Kyomachi house with a tatami Zen garden, 2 minutes walk from Toji Temple, with a private kitchen and bathroom.
