Vacation rentals with a kayak in Dutchess County

We had a wonderful week at The Lake House. We enjoyed having the lake all to ourselves for fishing and canoeing. The outdoor spaces there are great and even had a couple of black bears come by for a visit. The kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to make meals for a large group. The fresh cut flowers in the entry, along with the fresh fruit basket and bottle of wine upon arrival were nice little touches that we appreciated.

We loved staying at Bengisu’s home for the holidays. It’s even cozier and more welcoming than can be seen in photos, and the location is great - just a few minutes walk into town to enjoy everything Beacon has to offer. Bengisu was communicative and helpful leading up to the trip, and her home was the perfect place for us to spend a few days relaxing and exploring. We would absolutely stay here again on a future trip.

We loved our weekend here. The water view from the deck was wonderful and we spent a lot of time there. The house is within walking distance of the Saugerties lighthouse. As it was hot out, we appreciated the AC. Would definitely stay here again.

Jane was the best hostess! We had a few questions and she responded promptly in a friendly manner. The house is so homey and easy to immediately relax. It was just what we needed. Kitchen was amazing. It was stocked with all we needed to cook all our meals. And the plus was the yummy homemade jam! Thanks again. We talked about making it an annual trip! Perfect place for a group of adults to stay while in town for a wedding. Easy walk up a hill to central Saugerties with lots of cute stuff to take in.

We had a wonderful stay at the Taconic Hill home with our young children. It's clean, open, and minimal with an abundance of space and light. There is plenty of space to spread out if you want some privacy, and also welcoming centers to bring the family together. The location is great, with easy access to the activities in neighboring towns, and the hosts provided a helpful guide book that answered all of our questions while we were there (so we didn't need to bother them at all, it was so helpful!). Also the property is great - we went on a long walk through the woods with our children and had a magical time, great to have the convenience of this in the backyard. We'd all love to stay here again!

This stat was truly unforgettable. The home felt like a true sanctuary - peaceful, spotless, open and incredibly welcoming. From the moment we walked in, it felt like home. Adele was an amazing host! She went above and beyond, even leaving a thoughtful, personalized note for our anniversary, which meant a lot to us! The views were stunning, the sounds of nature were so calming, and my partner loved fishing at the lake every day. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and connection with nature. This has been my favorite trip so far, and I can’t wait to come back with friends and family to share this little piece of heaven. Highly recommend 10/10!!!

We arrived from an exhausting and loud city. Busy with noise and politics, to a cozy and tastefully decorated cottage. It almost brought tears into our eyes. So serene and peaceful. The cottage had everything we needed for our escape. Beautiful views of the creek, fresh air and a fire pit around the property. Luxurious linen calm paint on the walls is exactly what we needed to to calm our nerves and just relax. Thank you for this beautiful home and creating such an oasis for your guests. My friends and I loved our weekend getaway at Vivian's lake house. Vivian was a very responsive host and provided clear instructions that made our stay seamless. The space was super clean, modern, and easily accommodated all 8 of us. The highlight of our trip was spending time on the lake with the provided kayaks and paddle boards. We enjoyed ending the day by grilling and sitting around the fire pit. We wish we had stayed longer!

The area was absolutely beautiful. Valhalla Lake was private with stunning views. The cabin was exactly as it was described and the book of directions that was left for guidance was easy to follow.

Great place to stay - easy instructions to follow, house is even more spacious than it looks in photos, and the backyard is GREAT for dogs. Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful, well-appointed home in a great location - close to all historical sites and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. We enjoyed the home's fire pit and peaceful location. Lots of room for 8 adults for a family get-together.

Could not recommend this lake house enough!! Everything we wanted for a weekend trip - right on the lake, near a small town, and a 1.5 hr drive from NYC. Getting to the house was easy; we were able to find it even at night. The road is dark but the house well marked, and we had clear parking instructions. Arriving by train is also possible, as the train stop is 10 min away and taxis are available. The house itself is PERFECT - right on the lake with multiple docks, very clean, and very cozy. It poured for one of the days, but just having a great and clear view of the lake was enough! We also went to a nearby antique store and the cafes/restaurants Pam recommended - all amazing! When it was sunny, we were able to swim and lounge outside. Kayaks and paddle boards were also available, and we also grilled and had delicious meals while there. Finally, Pam is an incredible host - very communicative and kind and helped us when the house/town had a blackout! Don’t wait - book the trip!

My husband and I spent a long weekend at the cabin for our 10th Anniversary and we had the most peaceful, relaxing stay. The location is impeccable - very private, beautiful setting, close to nearby cute towns. We loved falling asleep listening to the creek and seeing the fireflies over the water. The cabin is adorable and well appointed. Finally, Sam and Catherine could not have been better hosts- very easy to communicate with, reached out with tips, and our dogs enjoyed running around together. We will absolutely be back!

The location exceeded all expectations. This is one of the few Airbnb‘s that’s actually more beautiful than the pictures. Serenity at its finest. We were greeted by baby deer and a beautiful flock of birds that set the tone for an amazing weekend. Wineries and walks over the Hudson River are a short 20 minute drive away. Fantastic dining along the Hudson. Steve is a true professional host. He only took five minutes of our time and we figured everything else out. The fire pit was amazing with ample wood. Lake view and waterfall and ruins are even better in person than the pictures. The house is spotless and well designed with 2 incredible bathrooms. No cons. All pros. One of the few rentals I’d come back to.

We had an exceptional stay at the cabin! This place is a gem and everything was brand new! There are two cabins on the property, so my fiancé and I rented one cabin for a couple days before our friends joined at the other cabin for the weekend. It’s even better than the photos! The highlight has to be the glass wall facing the creek - it felt like waking up in a treehouse with the most peaceful view. We enjoyed morning coffee sitting Creekside, watched ducks fly by, and soaked up the stars next to the fire pit. The house itself is beautiful yet cozy. Most importantly it was clean. The kitchen had everything we needed, and all the appliances are top of the line. We cooked, read by the fireplace, and totally unplugged. The loft bed was super comfortable, and the view from up there is unreal. We loved how private and quiet it felt, but it was still really easy to get into both Kingston and Saugerties for dinner and exploring. The location is perfect if you want nature and restaurants.

We loved Jason’s place on Dutchess Lake. It was sweet, clean, and well appointed. The lake was lovely for swimming and paddling and the shady porch and dock stayed pleasant even during the unexpectedly hot weekend. We highly recommend this cabin for small groups who want to stay somewhere beautiful but also convenient.
