Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Durham

Hetti’s home was even better than expected. It was perfect for my brothers and I to share for a family wedding that we attended. Space for adults and outfitted for children as well (with a fun bunk room, though it went unused this go-around) Gorgeous home and right near the Wylder hotel and downtown Windham. Can’t thank Hetti enough for hosting in such a beautiful home.

Marta’s place was the perfect winter escape! The house was spacious, cozy, and even better than the photos. The high ceilings and open layout made it great for relaxing, and the kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Even in the cold, the house stayed warm and comfortable. The peaceful location made it feel like a true getaway, yet it was still close enough to essentials. Marta was a fantastic host—responsive and helpful from start to finish. We had an amazing stay and would love to come back!

Arin & Brian’s place was nothing short of amazing ! From the minute we walked in , it felt like home . Our 21 month old daughter especially took a liking to the home . I was so shocked and happy to see how baby/toddler friendly their home is . From child locks to stair gates , you name it , they had it all! It was also very peaceful surroundings and private, which I always appreciate in an air b n b. Arin and Brian were great hosts too , checking in when needed. I would love to come again !

Phil & Allan are great hosts, very responsive and clear. Their spot is the perfect cozy getaway with friends & family with amazing views and ample space. They supplied firewood for the fire pit and were flexible with check in times. A few minutes down the road is a great deli and a few other coffee shops, a brewery, and restaurants. The area is relaxed and perfect for hiking and other outdoor activities. We loved our stay!

We stayed here for the weekend of our son’s graduation nearby, and it was the perfect place to land. The house is beautiful and full of charm, with original artwork, comfy chairs, and inviting spaces to gather and relax. You can really feel the care and attention the hosts put into making it special. Thanks to a stretch of spring rain in the area, the landscape around the stone house was vividly green, lush, quiet, and full of life. One of our favorite moments was sitting on the bed and being surprised by a hummingbird visiting our window. Such a lovely and memorable stay!

Our stay at Taylor's Chalet was nothing short of amazing. The chalet was exactly what we were looking for for our Mother's Day weekend. The house was nestled among beautiful trees with the backdrop of mountains. The house had tons of board games, two tvs and wonderful beds to provide the best sleep of your life! The close proximity to hiking trails was a BIG PLUS! Taylor's commitment to using sustainable products in the home was something we also appreciated. We will definitely be making future trips to this amazing Chalet!

Jennifer was a wonderful host. Very responsive and shared local recommendations. The place is beautiful and well suited to host two families.

We enjoyed our stay at Carin's apartment. Rooms were spacious, and the apartment was spotless. It was located 1.2 miles from the historic Kingston Stockade area and even closer to the historic Roundout area. The people of Kingston were extremely nice, and our hostess, Carin, was no exception. She made our stay there comfortable and pleasant. I will most certainly return to her place if I have to travel to Kingston again. P.S. If this is your first time in Kingston and you are interested in the town's history, you may want to check the Friends of Kingston Historic Society site and download its self-guided tours.

This is our fifth year coming to the farm. Larissa is absolutely masterful with kids of all ages (even tough kids). My daughter races out at 9 am to do farm chores and begs for more (and this is a kid who drags her feet doing chores at home)!! We love the rhythm of farm and find it really easy to disconnect and unwind. After chores in the morning, you're welcome to spend as much time as you want with the animals, which is a real treat. Whether it's feeding the horses hay, sharing food scraps with the goats, or watching the chickens do their evening routine, there's so much to enjoy. The local towns are lovely, but if you like the farm experience, you may never leave the property. Larissa is incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing her experience and expertise. She has created an absolutely magical environment, and I would highly recommend visiting!!

The unit is spacious and tastefully decorated. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance so there are plenty of nearby options if one doesn’t want to cook. The Albany Capital Center, State Capitol Building, and other downtown locations are only about 15 minutes away by foot if you want to avoid extra driving. Brian was very responsive as a host. We were never kept waiting for any questions we may have had. All in all, I would recommend Brian’s unit over pricier hotels in the Albany area.

We loved how quiet and peaceful the location was. We also loved the homey touches- the local books, the honor store out back, the fact that there was the cafe under the apartment. The setting was beautiful and we loved falling asleep to the sound of the brook and the spring peepers!

This place was absolutely charming! It just had the nicest vibe. Loved the record player, the artwork, the soft lighting, and the many snug corners for reading, playing cards, or having a cup of tea. Can’t say enough good things about this place. So fun to walk out the door and be right on Warren. Zach was a terrific host, super quick to communicate and to help. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay!!

The brick house at Eagle Ridge Farm was a great home base for us to spend a long weekend in the Catskills. The place was well kept, with a comfy bed, and a great view out the windows. Scenic, but only a few minutes from Arkville and Margaretville, where there are great options for food and drink! We were also recommended great hikes by the host. Would happily stay again!

Donna's place was immaculate easy to find shes very responsive. For us personally we needed to make adjustments but she is more than willing to work with us. Appreciate the offer to stay. Highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay at Katherine’s beautiful cottage in Kingston. The home was cozy, clean and thoughtfully decorated ~ truly a perfect retreat. Surrounded by nature, the peaceful setting made it easy to relax and unwind. Katherine was a warm and responsive host, making everything seamless from start to finish. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy the charm of the Hudson Valley!

My daughters and I really enjoyed our stay at Jacks place. The house is beautiful, and the surrounding private property is stunning. Nicole was very helpful whenever I had any questions.

My friends and I had the most incredible time at this Airbnb! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning views and the warm welcome from our host Joe. The property itself was immaculate — beautifully decorated, clean, and equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect too! Just a short walk from hikes, and local cafes, we were able to enjoy lazy mornings by the and evenings exploring the charming neighborhood. Our host went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed, offering great recommendations for activities and dining spots nearby. We truly felt like we were staying with friends rather than in a rental property. Overall, our experience exceeded all expectations. Alexander’s place is as described and look like the pictures. We stayed for one week end with friends to enjoy one day skiing and it was great! We had some trouble making the sauna and pool work at the beginning but Alexander sent someone to help quickly which was much appreciated 3’ drive from the slopes of Hunter and enough space to comfortably fit 12 people Would definitely recommend for a week end between friends or a big family reunion Thank you!

i can’t say enough good things about mercedes and her house. the house is incredible, filled with the most interesting furniture, art, and vignettes. the location is peaceful and beautiful, and easy to get to other towns to spend some time shopping and eating. mercedes is a fabulous host; responsive, helpful, friendly and kind. the house is gorgeous and cozy, with so many things to do at the house during your stay. one of the best air bnbs i’ve stayed at!

Marco was a very accommodating host and his property is absolutely immaculate, my guests and I felt like we were in Europe or some tropical place. The kitchen was spacious enough to accommodate our large group and we had no issues with the property or any appliances the whole time. We enjoyed gorgeous sunsets off of the balcony and also hiked to a nearby waterfall. Absolute five out of five stars!
