Monthly Rentals in Dovedale

We had a fantastic stay, loved every minute. Geraldine is a lovely host - she and her family were friendly and welcoming - we were very well looked after during our stay. The house is in a gorgeous location - the village is beautiful and peaceful but is still in easy reach of nearby towns and local amenities if needed. We had some lovely walks during our week - the countryside is stunning. A fabulous property - full of character and has the most lovely feel to it. The furnishings are of a high quality and the house is very well equipped - we were so comfortable and we had everything we needed for our stay. We will absolutely definitely be back - very soon we hope!

Perfect base for the area. Extremely pet friendly. Debbie and Ian are very welcoming hosts. They have a small cafe nearby which is perfect for breakfast or delicious homemade cakes.

The Stables is the most perfect, peaceful escape. We brought our 18 month old son who loved the garden and all the toys, as well as the travel cot and high chair provided by Annie. The space is beautiful and cosy with a spacious upstairs bedroom with an enormous free standing bath! The kitchen had everything we needed to cook a few meals, and we really appreciated the prosecco, chocolates and crisps left for us to enjoy! There are detailed binders for guests to use with recommendations of walks, pubs, restaurants, activities and more. We visited Matlock Bath and Bakewell, completed the walks at Thorpe Cloud (start of the route 3 minutes walk away from the Stables!), and Thor’s Cave, did the Heights of Abraham and visited the Peak Wildlife Park, ate out at The Old Dog, The Okeover Arms and The Bowling Green which were all very close and served amazing food in lovely surroundings. Annie was super friendly and made us feel very at home. Thank you so much! We will be returning 🥰

The cottage is exactly as described, it’s up there with the best we’ve stayed in. Immaculately clean - so much so I felt comfortable having relaxing baths over a shower. Kitchen has everything you need to make a nice meal, and the bed is very comfy. Location is great, so quiet and peaceful yet only a few metres from a lovely country pub. There are plenty of long walking routes from the door to save you having drive elsewhere and park up too. We brought our Labrador with us who was very settled there and enjoyed the enclosed yard area. I’d recommend that anyone with a large dog (capable of or likely to jump a low wall) takes a long lead with them just for peace of mind given there are cows in the field. Overall, I’d recommend this cottage to anyone looking for a peaceful break away to unwind in the countryside.
