We had a very nice stay. Masako san and her husband were very kind and she made wonderful meals. She was very thoughtful and went out of her way to provide comforts for our children. Transportation was a short walk away and Masako san gave us rides as well. They were very patient with our young children and we really appreciated that. This was our first “home stay” with Air BnB and we had a great experience.

Private lodging, owner stays with Hokkaido Dog

川崎Rating, 5 stars2 months ago
Only one night in Sapporo, but Touichiro the Hokkaido dog stole my heart. Cautious by nature, yet he sniffed me curiously from the start. A bit of play—and suddenly, I had a clingy, bitey best friend. By morning, we were tight. Then came goodbye. He didn’t bark or chase—just stared with those sad eyes from his corner. Like he knew. It hurt more than I expected. Ah—but this is a stay review, isn’t it? (I’m Japanese, but I heard many guests come from abroad—so I’m writing this in English.) The house was calm and cozy, the kind of place where time slows down. The host? Gentle, almost monk-like. And though the area felt remote, a convenience store just 80m away was a small, quiet miracle.
A gravel outdoor area features a single folding chair positioned toward the sea, framed by a clear blue sky. In the distance, a coastal landscape is visible, with rocky terrain contrasting the smooth shoreline. A small tree is seen nearby, adding to the natural setting.

Nikka whiskey, wineries, Otaru, Niseko, Ideal for sightseeing in Hokkaido. A private house facing the sandy beach with a panoramic view of Cape Shiripa

彩子Rating, 5 stars1 month ago
First day of Golden Week. Stroll through Maruyama Park, where the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, and shop for ingredients at Aeon Mall Yonashiro. In addition to fresh seafood, meat, and vegetables, there is a Nikka whiskey corner and a wine corner with an overwhelming selection of local wines. After shopping, check in at a house overlooking Cape Shiripa. When I arrived, the smiling owner welcomed me and kindly guided me inside. Tea and refreshments were prepared on the table along with a welcome message, which warmed my heart. Beautiful kitchen with lots of dishes, spacious living and dining room, and bedroom with antique interior. The bathroom was stocked with bath salts and plenty of amenities, and the decorations, such as small items, were pleasing to the eye. There is a barbecue corner with a view of the sea behind the house, and a fire pit is also available, so we had a relaxing time with family and friends with an early dinner. The next day, we went to the Fisheries Museum, which houses many valuable exhibits, just a 3-minute drive away. You can get a glimpse of the history of Yufu, such as exhibits on the history of apples in the Jomon period and herring fishing. It is also a 15-minute drive to Nogi Mushroom Kingdom, and you can get snacks and groceries in a short time I felt that the access was very good, about 3-5 minutes by car to the city. I didn't use it this time because BBQ was the main reason for my trip, but I think the many delicious restaurants in the neighborhood are also one of the charms of Yurigahara. On the last day, we walked to Sokodan and enjoyed the view of Sokodan Blue from Cape Godo before heading home. We'd love to stay again when the cherry and grape picking season comes.

It was such a nice place to stay that I wondered if it was okay to stay at this price. I wanted an inn with a fireplace, so I had a lovely time relaxing by the fire. There is no cell reception because it is in the middle of nature, but there is WiFi instead, so I don't think there is a problem with communication. Thank you so much!

[Super Surprise Winter Cottage!] 5-star review!❤️ Finding this wonderful homestay is a real bargain! The house is hidden in a quiet hillside, 15 minutes drive to the canal. The floor heating is superb, and the snow scene outside the floor-to-ceiling windows is like a postcard ~ The host prepared a courtyard bonfire and BBQ area! Roast marshmallows around the bonfire at night, look up and the sky is full of stars, friends say I'm good at choosing places haha ~ the stone oven is super professional, roasted the scallops and beef bought at the supermarket, it feels like a luxury meal with the snowy scene! The skylight in the bedroom loft is awesome! It's not cold when you wake up in the morning sun (the tatami room has a light straw mat scent). The kitchen even has a net for baking rice cakes. I regret not buying a bottle of sake to go with it!

This property was such a hidden gem. Quiet, serene location, gorgeous cabin with historic furnishings, and an incredible private Onsen. The architecture of the cabin was lovely, and a standout highlight was the amazing and well-equipped kitchen. It was SO nice to have tea and meals by the wood stove. Was the perfect getaway after a long day of skiing. Would definitely love to come back!
