Our favourite eating places nearby are Swinside Inn and the Ivy Restaurant in Braithwaite. Keswick is a mere 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk for eating out, shopping and outdoor sports.

The famous Coledale horseshoe ridge walk starts and finishes in the village. The popular mountain biking trail centre at Whinlatter Forrest is less than 2 miles from the cottage.

The cottage resides within our farm, Terrace Farm with open countryside and panoramic views of the Lakeland Fells and numerous Wainwrights including Melbreak, Whiteside, Low Fell, Hopegillhead to name but a few.

The living area of the holiday cottage is situated on the first floor of the farm house. This gives fantastic views over the garden to Whiteless Pike from the bedroom and lounge/dining room. Although fully self-contained, the apartment is accessed by the main staircase, shared with your hosts, Alister and Rach.

Toddell Barn forms part of our traditional Lakeland longhouse farm, built in approximately 1710. Toddell Barn sits within approximately 7 acres of agricultural land that helps attract a wide variety of wildlife. Toddell Barn is located in the hamlet of Brandlingill (2 miles south of Cockermouth) and is within the northern boundary of The Lake District National Park, categorised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2017.
