The Coon Creek Camping Cabin is a remote and rustic cabin in the Medicine Bow mountain range. This cabin is for the adventurous camper who wants to get off the beaten path. It has aerial views as well as trail head access and close to the Sand Dunes. Free Trailhead parking with a short 3 minute hike to your cabin (recommend packing light). Enjoy the quiet beauty of nature in this truly Wild place. Hike into the Non motorized areas of the State Forest or bring your ATVs for some fun in the Sand.

The Palmer House is located on the historic Oxford Horse Ranch that was established in 1887. The old log house is remodeled in a Victorian style. Luxurious accommodations nestled outside of town on a 3,600 acre privately owned, working cattle ranch. Come enjoy the ranch life style viewing cattle, horses, and the 150 foot barn. Adjacent to Routt National Forest and the Zirkel Wilderness. Moose, elk, deer, pronghorn, bear, wolf, fox, and many bird species call this special place home. Cabin is an off-grid, dry cabin. Private trails for hiking, biking, xc ski and snowshoe. 4WD or AWD preferred travel in winter. The heat is furnished by a wood stove. Solar powered lights. The composting bathroom is 20 feet away and the shower house a short walk. Water is supplied. Blackstone grill and French press provided.

Entire brand new, modern & bright cabin. We lost the cabin in 2020 in one of the largest wildfires in Colorado history, and just finished rebuilding. What we lost from the seclusion of trees, we gained in 360 degree views of Kawuneeche Valley & Rocky Mountain National Park. Nature has rebounded quickly & you will see abundant wildlife grazing the meadow, with moose and elk visiting daily. You can snowmobile/ATV from cabin to trails in less than 10 min. 4WD/AWD HIGHLY RECOMMENDED in Winter.
