The Shop on the Bridge, Hawes

LeaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
The Shop was a wonderful bolt-hole for our unexpected stay in Hawes after the Spine race. We were able to rest and recover in peace in this cosy apartment, that had everything we needed. When we did decide to venture out, being right in the centre of Hawes meant that we had a full range of shops, cafes and pubs/restaurants to visit right on our doorstep. Would recommend for any couples looking for a cosy stay in a beautiful part of the world - thank you Vanessa.

Tethera Nook - a beautifully crafted retreat

Matthew James RichardRating, 5 stars2 days ago
We had a lovely stay at Tethera Nook with our dog Luna! Emma and Craig were brilliant and it was lovely to see them working so hard on their gorgeous garden while we were there! It provided a lovely place to sit with a drink in the mornings! Their very friendly dog Capone always happy to come and say hello! It felt very private the whole week, walking distance to Kendal town, and we even hiked up to Scouts Scar which was recommended in the guide book (the views definitely did not disappoint). Tethera nook had everything we needed for our stay and with it being extremely hot the fan was an added bonus in keeping us and our dog cool! The eggs and veg that Emma leaves out is incredible and the little gifts of brownies, gin and jams on our arrival kept us going for the whole week! Everything was just perfect for our relaxing week away in the lakes, with close links to the rest of the national park! We would absolutely stay here again!

Beautiful spotless and comfy cottage in a great location in the centre of Hawes. Stuart and Jo are friendly and helpful hosts who clearly care that their guests enjoy their holiday. The local information pack was brilliant and the cottage has been meticulously renovated and kitted out with an outstanding attention to detail and with their guests in mind. Would definitely recommend.

Penny Bank Cottage

MelanieRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The cottage was very cosy and the location in the middle of beautiful Dent was fabulous. Though it was situated on the main street through Dent it was quiet and relaxing. There were so many possibilities for a walk up the hill or along the river Dee! Two Pubs round the corner and cafés, too, and little Dent Stores had a very good range of goods including fresh fruit and vegetables and freshly baked pastries. The surroundings were stunning with sunshine and also with rainy clouds. A location to come again and again and again...

A cascading waterfall flows over rocky terrain, surrounded by stone houses and greenery. Soft clouds drift above, creating a serene atmosphere. The gentle motion of the water contrasts with the textures of the buildings, offering a glimpse of the natural beauty present in the area.

*New* A Den in the Dales

CazzieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Great location in the centre of Hawes. Loved the accommodation; interior decor was in keeping with the property in a contemporary way and was very clean. Bed was so comfy. Liked the extra touches of milk, biscuits, tea/coffee and nice body wash. We were lucky to find parking very close-by but if not the Pay & Display carpark is not too far (there’s a pedestrian shortcut). Would definitely book again.

Romantic Off-grid retreat in North Pennines AONB

JackRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a stunning place to say. The cottage was surrounded with views and inside has loads of character! Will definitely look to book again in the future. I thankfully had nice weather so managed to make use of the garden to sit and work on my laptop, there was some seats to use which is great. Cottage was clean and cozy, I almost expected to feel a little bit cold (which I would’ve been happy with) but it was so inviting and warm inside I’d have happily moved in. Hosts were super helpful, instructions getting to the lodge were helpful and clear including getting into the cottage. Wouldn’t be the best if you had a lowered car just for the track but so nice to be away from the road and not overlooked! Can not recommend enough!!
