Bed and breakfast vacation rentals in Costa Rica

I loved everything about Eden - the kind, warm delightful Enid who stayed up very late so I could check-in after flying from Australia, the delicious breakfast she served, the clean and comfortable room, the lush garden and refreshing pool. As an older woman travelling solo for a few days in a country where I do not speak the language, it was the perfect place to recover from jetlag. I felt safe and cared for. Carlos, the driver they recommended to me was an added bonus, as was meeting some of the other interesting guests.

We were greeted by David and Penelope upon arrival with a warm welcome. We stayed on the ground level in the 2 bedroom suite with our own kitchenette however we received two wonderful meals per day with request. Our hosts were wonderful, informative, and accommodating arranging for a monkey tour through the Mangroves by boat and informed us of the tortuga release just down the beach from where we were staying so we could take the easy 5 minute walk to watch the release. Oh, speaking of the beach, it was amazing to have such an amazing expanse to walk wash day. We couldn't be more happy with our decision to stay with David and Penelope. Looking forward to our next stay with them.

Neatly neat house. Very large. I really liked the price-quality ratio. We were very close to the entrance of the park we had an early tour and we didn't have to drive from home very early because we only had to drive a little bit to the park. I do recommend a 4*4 car. We had 2*4 and missed a 4*4. Monteverde itself is a very nice village. A bit touristy, but after seeing many other not touristy places in Costa Rica at all, I liked that for a while. House was large and has a strikingly beautiful light during the day. We were very satisfied. Also nice was the laundry service that was provided. As a result, we didn't have to go all the way to the village with the laundry. There is a good, large oven in the apartment and a good gas stove so you can cook in the house yourself.

We really enjoyed our stay at Jessica and Luis. Not only for the nice and quiet of the property, but also because of the good vibe and willingness of Jessica and her family. The property is very cute and located in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. Birds, monkeys, and the sea are part of the sight and constant sounds. The bungalow is very comfortable and has everything you need. And whatever you don't have, Jessica and Luis are always attentive to help with whatever you need!!

This place is a gem! The owner(s) clearly put a lot of love into the place and the landscaping. I absolutely loved the river access and enjoyed it every day - so many fun places to explore right from the Airbnb! I could easily spend an entire month here. I hope that I am able to stay again someday.

Dalia was so nice and gave us a warm welcome. We felt like family! There was another woman there that was also extremely nice. The breakfast was perfect! Great pitstop 20 minutes away from the airport. We ordered an uber to the airport and it was nice and easy. If we need a spot near the airport in the future we will definitely be back here! Idyllic surroundings - gorgeous and accessible. This place was exactly our pace. Breakfast was lovely and the pool was clean and perfect. The beach access is directly off the lawn and it’s breathtaking, especially at sunset. You share a bathroom with shower with one other room.

Great stay just a few minute walk from the beach and shops. there were also a few monkeys hanging out in the trees next to the room. Carlos was super friendly and helpful with any questions. recommend to stay here if coming to Montezuma!

I can’t say enough good things about El Refugio! I stayed for 4 nights, and it was truly a wonderful experience. My room was cozy but straightforward, with a lovely view of the pool. The complimentary breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the coffee was so good that I even brought some back home with me to the States. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the host, Agustin, went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. He was attentive, always available to answer our questions, and provided us with great local recommendations. When we arrived, Agustin shared a detailed map with suggestions for restaurants, bars, and things to do in the area. He also offered help with booking excursions, including a beach tour we were interested in that was a bit farther out. Throughout our stay, he kept us updated on local events, which made our trip even more enjoyable. I would absolutely recommend El Refugio to anyone visiting the area, and I would definit

I loved, the place, the hosts, the dog, the peace. Felt right like family. I would definitely go back there another time when the occasion come. Absolutely nothing bad to about this experience.

One night stay was perfect here. Karla and Alberto made sure we were taken care of and provided a delicious breakfast with a great spread of food. Nice pool and weight area available. The location is ideal walking distance to the beach. Would return again.

During our staying Costa Rica, we stayed at five different places. This was my absolute favorite! It was private, clean, very peaceful. Elmer and Kyna were available for anything we needed, or suggestions on things to do in the area. Avellanas was also one of my favorite beaches, beautiful waves, and perfect for surf! There was just the right amount to do in the town. Nothing too hectic, but choices of restaurants and places to shop within walking distance of our place. I would stay there again in a heartbeat, and recommend it to anyone!

Such a nice stay in a relaxing environment. Best view into the green mountains, we saw so many birds. Ruth & Andreas were lovely hosts. We can highly recommend.

Sweet family, awesome breakfast, very good communication, helpful and assertive, cutest dog, beautiful view, quiet area. It’s perfect for one person to retreat, if you don’t need fast wifi. You get hot food and basic groceries at the village. Busses are running to Atenas. Gabriel will help you with anything you need, they all speak very good English and like to chat.

We had a wonderful stay at Nano's! He welcomed us warmly and the room is very nice with its own balcony & bathroom upstairs. We were able to use the kitchen and living room. The view of the mountains and the valley is a highlight, it is also very quiet and we were able to switch off and relax well. In the evening, Nano prepared a delicious dinner with vegetables and herbs from his garden with a lot of love, also vegetarian on request:) We had great conversations and he gave us many tips for activities in the area. We keep Nano as a good friend and our stay at Casa Paz as a very special memory of our trip through Costa Rica!

We had the best time staying at the Sueno Del Mar! This was our first time staying in Costa Rica and we were nervous in choosing a place to stay. We could not be happier with ending up on Eduardo’s property! The quality of accommodations were more than we expected! The property was beautiful, the unique daily breakfast superb, and the ocean front experience was so wonderful! Our room was cleaned every morning while we ate breakfast, and we appreciated how friendly and helpful Eduardo, Sol, Stella, Lilly and all the rest of the staff were during our stay. We rented a car and enjoyed visiting other locations within an hour drive, but we would have been equally happy without and having just enjoyed the local surroundings. There are many beaches, amazing restaurants and shops to enjoy within walking distance. We were also delighted to be entertained by the many howler monkeys, lizards and beautiful birds during our stay. We look forward to returning.

Everything was great during our stay. The location is perfect, near the beach, supermarket and restaurants. The room has everything you will probably need, also the shared kitchen is well equiped. The hosts are very friendly and the breakfast was definitely the best part of our stay.

Amazing place in a beautiful area - spectacular views all around. Plenty of shops nearby. Easy bus to San Ramon. Room feels very private, is sort of on the back of the house but still has nice mountain view, has it's own entrance up some stairs. Kitchen is very nice and nice views too. Great place to get away from the city and relax - very peaceful.

Stephanny was really friendly she does the best scramble eggs in town with onions and mix tomatoes...Her staff too are really nice..Especially Jessica house keeper a nice smile and a joy of life . totally recomended..pool was a plus in this heat..15 minutes walk to sierpe downtown....🙂

I really liked the place, the people who take care of you are very friendly and warm welcome. The restaurant is delicious, everything they prepare is seen to do with love and the food is very traditional. The room is nice, it has enough blankets and has a super cute balcony that overlooks a garden.

Stayed in the sunflower room. It's a beautiful house and great location. Mario is welcoming. recommended for a stay in Herradura.

Nice place with breakfast included: close to the center of Escazú with plenty to do nearby. Front desk staff was very nice.

an amazing experience! a beautiful environment, a sublime and pleasant room, an adorable, helpful and very attentive staff, excellent on-site meals, such a relaxing surrounding nature. in short, a rare pearl, an incredible discovery. if we could, we would have stayed for weeks. congratulations on this beautiful place, everything is absolutely perfect!
