The secret garden. Self catering accommodation

MakaelaRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We were a group of three hikers walking the Kerry Way and this was the perfect place to stay after arriving in Sneem. It is a little ways out of town but after arriving in Sneem, we hung around, explored, had lunch, easily caught the bus to Tahilla, and then Catherine’s home is just a ten minute walk up N70 from there. You could also skip the bus and walk the trail to her home - it is located directly on the Kerry Way so we were able to hop right on the trail to Kenmare the next morning. Because it is a few miles into the trail from Sneem, it shortens the walk to Kenmare from 21~ miles to 17~ miles which you may or may not appreciate (we certainly did!). A member of our group had also hurt his knee that day and was planning on taking the bus to Kenmare instead, and Catherine very kindly offered to drive him to the bus stop so he didn’t have to walk, which was so appreciated. The only thing of note is that although laundry services are listed, the closest ones are actually in Kenmare.

White cottage, real wood fire

OliverRating, 5 stars1 day ago
In my many years of Airbnb accommodation, I've never felt as welcome as I did with Maggie and Paddy. Both are always concerned about their guests' well-being, always helpful, and always available with time, advice, and support. The little cottage offers everything you need for a wonderful and relaxing vacation. Quiet yet centrally located. I will never forget my time with them.

We stayed at Lis-Ardagh for three nights over Christmas in the self catering lodge. We had a great stay. The place is beautiful, really well run. There was a roaring fire keeping the place lovely and warm for us when we arrived. It has every amenity and the area of Union Hall is simply gorgeous! We would highly recommend a stay at Lis-Ardagh. 1 bedroom Studio in Killarney town

DakotaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
My husband and I had a wonderful stay! This guest house was a perfect home base for exploring Killarney National Park and Killarney town. The fully-equipped kitchen allowed us to grocery shop and cook. We ate dinner at the patio table in Elizabeth's lovely garden. Her pets (one cat and one dog) were well-behaved. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and supplied plenty of hot water. There was a clothes washer available (with a clothes line outside for drying), but we did not use it. We had a few brief conversations with Elizabeth, who was always friendly, yet respected our privacy.

The Brown Hen Garden Suite Bandon, Co Cork

RoyRating, 5 stars8 months ago
One of my favorite Airbnb’s. Beautiful location in the countryside yet within minutes of many sites in every direction. The lodge itself was a great place to relax and unwind after a full day of touring. Comfortable bed and chairs and sofa, hot shower, and cool little kitchenette with super views right out your front doors. And then Gwyneth is the best hostess ever! Friendly, fun to talk to, full of great recommendations for the area, and she goes way above and beyond providing for every need to make our stay top notch. Wish we could’ve stayed longer.

Hylands Garden Apartment

AmyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
What a lucky find for us. So convenient to town just 5 or so minutes drive to the Killarney centre and so accessable to the national park. It really felt like a home away from home. We weren't expecting to have what felt like an entire house. A fully equipped kitchen and separate lounging area. Also walkable to the Old Killarney Pub about 1km away which we enjoyed a meal and a drink and the pub offers a free drop off home if staying local (confirm this prior to planning as may not be every day). Thankyou so much for having us at your gorgeous home

We had a fantastic stay at Rose’s. The cottage had everything we could want for a few nights stay including treats like fresh bread and apple pie. It was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. It was a great base to explore Kerry from and we particularly enjoyed cycling in Muckross and walking through the Gap of Dunloe. We would love to come back again!

Cosy studio apartment with sea views

TraceyRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We really enjoyed our two nights at Jennifer and Killen’s studio apartment. Loved that the cafe/post office had been converted to this space, and loved all the little curios from the past. We spent our full day driving the Ring of Kerry. The roads getting to and from the studio are very narrow and windy, but then again, we are Australians and used to wide open roads! Loved the peace and serenity. The very modern and spacious bathroom is separate to the living area but absolutely no problem at all. Washed we had more time here.

Kayden House was the perfect home away from home for our family of six. Though listed as a guest suite, it felt more like a private bed and breakfast. The hosts, Kay and Tony, who live in an attached apartment, were incredibly kind, helpful, and responsive. They helped us get a reservation at the amazing Cronin’s restaurant and kindly assisted us and our less-mobile mother into town a few times—a huge help since it was too far for her to walk. Town is a short 5-minute drive or 20-minute walk. The house was spotless, spacious, and more beautiful than the photos. The bedrooms were comfy, all located upstairs, and the shower had great water pressure. The kitchen was stocked with thoughtful touches like fruit, yogurt, cereal, milk, and biscuits. There’s a great coffee maker—just bring your own grounds, easily found at a shop 5 minutes away. We felt warmly welcomed and cared for, and would absolutely stay at Kayden House again when visiting Killarney!

Luxurious Apartment in the Reeks District

StephanieRating, 5 stars7 months ago
This was our fourth time staying at Gene's place, and there are so many reasons why we keep coming back. The flat is big, beautifully decorated, sunny and gorgeous, with lovely views, a huge very modern kitchen and two sparkling bathrooms. Gene had even put out autumnal decorations for our arrival! We feel so at home here -- you don't even have to go anywhere, you can just enjoy the views of the mountains from the sitting room. But there's lots to do, great walks (Gap of Dunlop, Tomie's Wood) nearby and Killarney's pubs and restaurants not much further. What really makes this place special, though, are Gene's lovely parents Celia and Mossie, who live downstairs and are so incredibly kind, generous and welcoming. We are always so well taken care of when we are there -- we can't wait to go back!

The Snug

RosaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We've had a wonderful time at The Snug. The apartment is brand-new, clean, cozy and comfortable. The kitchen is great, with all the appliances one could need. The bathroom is clean, spacious enough, and even a laundrymachine is installed. There are two spacious bedrooms, with comfortable mattresses. Albeit the double bed is a bit on the smaller size, especially for two people over 1.8m. The surroundings of The Snug are spectacular. From there we explored the ring of Kery, the ring of Beara, hiked a part of the Kerry way, visited Killarney and Kenmare. And even with all this going on, when we were at The Snug, it was quiet and private. The most exceptional part of the Snug are its hosts. Brendan, Helen and Susan go above and beyond to make your stay as comfortable and unforgettable as possible. They even dropped us at our starting point for a hike and picked us up 5 hours later! Overall would definitely recommend staying here if you had the chance. We will definitely return!

This place was wonderful. Truly enjoyed our stay. One suggestion - Taxi drivers had a difficult time finding the location via the instructions. Taxi drivers suggested saying it is the "The big house, about 50 meters next to the new Hospital". Once we started describing our location as that to taxi drivers they knew exactly where it was.

The cottage was the best place we stayed at during our two week trip through Ireland. The beds were firm, the shower was great, and the town and countryside were beautiful. Padriag was very kind to give us some fresh eggs on arrival and show us around. The tea and milk were also much appreciated. We would love to stay again if we’re ever in Kerry!
