Caboose w/ Mtn Views, Farm Animals + Fire Pit!

AmitRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an awesome time at Landon’s property. The kids loved interacting with and feeding the farm animals, specially the horses and sheep. The caboose was a pleasantly unique experience with great views, mood lighting, and comfortable beds. Girls loved going up and down the sturdy ladder to the loft bed in the cabin. The cabin is very thoughtfully appointed, with hot water supply and made our stay very comfortable despite the overcast weather. Our girls are looking forward to be back again soon to spend more time with the farm animals. Landon was always quick to respond and house info / instructions were succinct.

The Mohawk Getaway! Private heated pool

TimRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
What a beautiful home! This gem in Mohawk is a must stay - Dean’s home was spotless when we arrived for the weekend. So much space for us to enjoy inside the house and a great outdoor space with a very clean pool! The weather didn’t cooperate with us to enjoy the pool but the water was crystal clear. The people around were town were extremely friendly - a local police officer pulled over to show our kids his patrol car and let them see how the sirens work. Dean’s home is a must stay for you and your family!

"Just an Ol' Farm House"

MeghanRating, 5 stars1 month ago
I’m so happy that we found this farmhouse in the country. Conveniently located with a beautiful setting . We were even given fresh farm eggs. I wish we were able to do more hiking, but the weather was not in our favor. Best of all we could bring our fur baby with us . If I was coming up to this area again, I would be more than happy to stay there again. The House was extremely clean. It’s a farmhouse so yes, I had to get rid of a few wasps but that’s expected.

Hawk View

ZacharyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The house is really gorgeous. Everything was very new/modern, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed cooking meals in the kitchen overlooking the stunning view out the back. The hot tub and fire put were nice amenities to enjoy. The BBQ seemed to not be working, but other than that, no complaints. Location wise, the property is located in the northwest Catskills, near Stamford, NY, and convenient to many hiking spots in the area as well as nearby towns. The property itself its up on a hill, in what felt like a secluded and private spot, which made it feel like a real getaway and retreat. In sum, recommend this Airbnb for the nice amenities, modern touches, and amazing view.

Cooperstown Vicinity Country Home near Motorsports

KatherineRating, 5 stars8 months ago
My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights while we explored the Catskills on our motorcycles. The place was beautiful and we opted for the lofted bedroom for the cozy vibe. This place was so cute and had everything we needed and expected for our stay. The host was easy to communicate with and we used some restaurant recommendations that were listed. Overall we had an amazing time and loved this private home.

Lake Life on Canadarago Lake.

KrivitzRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Fell in love with this lake house. It was a surprise for our mom for Mother’s Day. She loved her vacation as we all did. It’s a perfect retreat on the water with beautiful sunsets and lots of wildlife to watch and the sounds of nature were so lovely. A real gem this place is so much so we reserved an extra night. None of us wanted to leave and we all look forward to returning again soon. The home and all amenities were perfect as was the host . Thank you.

Scenic Mountainview Cabin

MayaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The cabin is cute and rustic, yet large enough to sleep 4 comfortably. We couldn’t take full advantage of the enormous property due to rainy weather, but it was still such a gorgeous view and on a sunny, dry day it would be great location to explore! Inside, we enjoyed playing poker by the wood burning stove and outside, had fun touring some nearby caves. Barbara is a great host, very responsive, friendly and willing to help out and answer questions! We would love to come back here.

Catskill Treetop Retreat

ElizabethRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
The home is exactly as seen in the pictures, it was spotless, cozy, and welcoming. Everything we could have possibly needed was thoughtfully provided. Little touches—like treats and water—made us feel so special. Our host was absolutely wonderful—responsive, kind, and genuinely invested in making our stay comfortable. It felt less like a transaction and more like being welcomed by a friend. They gave us great recommendations for nearby cafes, hidden gems, and things we might have missed otherwise written in their binder. The binder also information on the history of the area and their journey which was a nice touch. This is a great writers retreat!

JenniferRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We absolutely loved our stay! It was so peaceful and relaxing with the creek nearby and the horses next door. Patrick gave such a great itinerary recommendation. His place was truly better than a home away from home. Loved the addition of the record player and albums that added to the overall feel of tranquility. Wish this could be my permanent home. I will 100% look into staying here again if I find myself coming back to the area.

Little owl Japanese teahouse: pool is OPEN

JaneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My husband and I had a wonderfully relaxing time at the Little Owl Teahouse. It’s a cozy and well-outfitted cabin with a super comfy bed and a great leather reading chair. Drank lots of the delicious mountain well water. Made breakfast in kitchen — love the pans and electric cooktop. Short drive to Woodstock for dinner. And oh the beauty of the surroundings - scenic views everywhere. Our two little doggies were happy to romp in the fenced in yard. Little too chilly when we were there but pool looks so appealing. Lisa is a proactive and super responsive host.

Happy Home in the Hills

PaulRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We enjoyed our stay at Scott's Happy Home. It was an excellent place for our family to stay while in town for our son and daughter-in-law's Baby Shower. The layout was great and met all of our needs. The kitchen was well-stocked, and we prepared several meals easily. Scott and Paula even brought us a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie cake, which was delicious. We plan to stay here again when we visit the area. Thanks, Scott and Paula, for being outstanding hosts!

Your guide to Cooperstown

Welcome to Cooperstown

Whether you’re into sports, the arts, or the great outdoors, this northern Catskills Mountains town sitting on the southern end of Otsego Lake is world-famous in each of these realms. Hit a home run in a haven for baseball fans: Cooperstown is home to the National Baseball Hall of Fame as well as the Heroes of Baseball Wax Museum, a famous bat maker, and Doubleday Field. Meanwhile, author James Fenimore Cooper dubbed Otsego Lake “Glimmerglass” in one of his novels, making way for both a lakeside park and a renowned summer arts festival bearing the name. Also channeling that creativity in town is the Fenimore Art Museum. And finally, everywhere you look, Cooperstown is about living the simple life outdoors, from hiking and golfing to canoeing and swimming.

The best time to stay in a vacation rental in Cooperstown

Along with its baseball ties, spring tends to attract the most visitors, despite the mix of humidity and chilly temperatures. Festivities start up in May with the General Clinton Canoe Regatta, the longest single-day flat water canoe race in the world, and the Hall of Fame Classic baseball game. Summer ushers in a more temperate climate, primed for warm outdoor days melting into comfy evenings, as the arts crank into gear with the Cooperstown Summer Music Festival and the famed Glimmerglass Festival celebrating the arts. By the time fall rolls around — toasted with a Harvest Festival — that crisp autumn air reigns, often accompanied by rainy days, and even the beginning of snow. Winter days are cold and snowy, and tourism slows, but along with that comes more room to enjoy the area.

Top things to do in Cooperstown

National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

The crown jewel of Cooperstown is the 60,000-square-foot mecca of baseball history, located right on Main Street, with 40,000 artifacts. While there are exhibits on the sports’ greatest names, the displays also put visitors at the forefront, highlighting the power of baseball on American lives and culture. This is just one of many baseball sites around town, also including Doubleday Field and Cooperstown Dreams Park.

Glimmerglass State Park

All that glimmers is indeed Otsego Lake. While the waters beckon those looking to swim, kayak, and fish, the lakeside park also has five hiking trails, including the Sleeping Lion Trail with a viewpoint of Mount Wellington resembling the trail’s namesake. Also on site: the 53-foot-long Hyde Hall Covered Bridge from 1825 and the 50-room country house Hyde Hall.

Farmers’ Museum

Located on the site of James Fenimore Cooper’s farm from 1813, the living museum is a look back in time at what life was like on a working farm. The Empire State Carousel, with 25 hand-carved depictions of animals in the state, also started running here in 2006.
