Rural RetreatQuiet and isolated

Situated in the shadow of the South Downs National Park on a small rural road with hardly any neighbours our charming cottage is a great place from which to explore the unspoiled open countryside and its many footpaths around us. The nearest street light is two miles away. Owls, deer and the occasional nightingale are the only sounds in the middle of the night The cottage décor is fresh and modern with plenty of parking and a small decking area. Pets are allowed by agreement, email us to ask.

The Garden Room is bright and spacious with lovely views to the south across the Lewes Brooks. There is a well equipped kitchen area, and you have your own front door. Coffee, tea, milk and some breakfast provisions will be waiting for you for your first morning. We are close to Lewes but with open fields nearby. It is a ten minute walk to a pub, for local beer and food. There is space nearby for a small car to park; larger vehicles can park about 20m from our driveway, on the Kingston Road.

The Garden Room

The annex is a detached building with a key safe and separate entrance situated in a very quiet part of the historic county town of Lewes. There is very little passing traffic and as we’re on the outskirts it’s about a 20 mins walk to the centre of the town but are very close to the South Downs, a 5 minute walk away and the gateway to the South Down way and the National Park. (Smoking only allowed outside) Close to Brighton and good access to public transport and a main line to London.

We have a light and comfortable studio apartment with great views and amazing countryside walks just waiting for your arrival! Adjacent to the South Downs National park, with a pub/restaurant close by and easy access to Lewes and Brighton. Bear in mind we aren't served by good public transport. The 'Garden Studio' is good for couples, walkers, riders and cyclists. Set in glorious countryside with virtually no light pollution, come and enjoy the buzzards by day and the stars by night.

We are Graham and Shizuka, our two daughters and our sociable Persian cat Saffy. We are offering a comfortable double room with its own entrance in our detached house in a quiet road on the outskirts of Lewes. There is parking in our driveway. 5 minutes walk north or south from the house takes you out onto the Downs yet the town centre is just 20 minutes away.

Had a lovely couple of nights staying in the beautiful Bull Pen. Big windows looking out onto lake across most of the room. One slides right open. Birdsong. Butterflies. Very special woodland to the back of the farm. Good walks. Feeling of light and space in the rooms. All spotless and comfortable. Relaxed, friendly, flexible hosts quick to help with anything. Very happy atmosphere. Perfect for my elderly friend as all on one level and all easy to manage. Would have loved to stay longer. Amazing brownies!! Milk in fridge. Will be back. Don't hesitate to come and stay!

Had a lovely stay at Pine tree Woodland retreat. It is in a wonderful setting down a very quiet lane , we did miss the house when we arrived, as our sat nav told us the property was on the left but it was on the right, but with the very good instructions from Paul and Louise we soon found it. We were warmly greeted by Louise and her lovely dogs. It has been beautifully decorated and furnished, with everything you would need. The photos don't do it justice. We had a very peaceful sleep. The garden is amazing , my 8 year old granddaughter had a lovely time on the swing , trampoline , hammock and then we were fortunate enough to have a swim in the heated pool . Would highly recommend staying at this property, we only stayed one night, but wished we had stayed longer. Thank you very much Paul and Louise.

The property is immaculately clean and thoughtfully designed, filled with fascinating historical conservation that really bring the building’s rich past to life. We especially loved the peaceful setting - while centrally located, it feels tucked away from the hustle and bustle. The back windows offer lovely hillside views and we woke each morning to wonderful birdsong. It’s an ideal base for exploring the area and experiencing a piece of authentic local history. Highly recommended for anyone looking for character, comfort, and convenience in Lewes!

Oh my goodness such a beautiful cottage in a fab location. Well equipped and tastefully styled. We enjoyed our stay so much…we came to visit my Dad on his 95th birthday and would definitely love to return. Really thoughtful extras, hand soap and shampoo etc. lovely bread and eggs. Even hot water bottles and box of tissues.
