Vacation rentals with lake access in Cook County

Had a short stay over spring break and this stay was exactly what we needed. Great location to drop right into the trails and Shayla was fantastic with all her communications. Can't wait to plan another trip!

We visit the North Shore every year and this was our first time on the beach, though rocky, of Superior. And boy were we right in the beach. Gorgeous views, sounds and smells. We were there right after a storm and the host was very proactive about a fallen tree and communicated right away. The house is clean, private and warm. We were there in a cold weather snap! We got to bring our pup too and it felt just like home. The water situation takes some getting used to, but ultimately is the same as going for a swim. So we all do it. The views and privacy are well worth. We will be back next year!

There are Airbnbs that offer a stay, but the Tofte House provides an exceptional Airbnb experience. From start to finish this was a flawless process. The home offers everything you could possibly need from comfortable beds and a well stocked and labeled kitchen, and the serene lake and fauna provided a wonderful background, but the graciousness of Deidra sharing her enthusiasm of the house and the area is what made this trip comfortable, fun, rejuevinating and memorable. They have thought of everything to make your vacation special: we cant wait for the next trip!

This house is in Hovland on the North Shore (relatively close to the Canadian border), and the view from the house of Lake Superior is breathtaking. You can just sit there and enjoy it. The home is well-equipped, with a lovely wood-burning fireplace (it made an especially lovely aroma in the house). We also liked the charming river bordering the property, it's literally a small river going through which gives more feelings of wilderness. Easy access to Grand Marais, Lutsen, and Grand Portage, and also to abundant hiking trails, which we really enjoyed.

Carrie was a great host! She was easy to communicate with and very kind! Her home was also even more beautiful than the pictures, if that’s even possible. As a large group we had plenty of space, and her home was stocked to meet our needs.

We had a truly wonderful stay at Henry’s home in Lutsen. The house was spotless, cozy, and incredibly peaceful, the perfect getaway. You can tell how much care and thought has gone into making it a welcoming space. Everything was exactly as described, if not better. and lots of activities and hiking trails are close by. Communication was smooth and easy, and we felt right at home from the moment I arrived. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking to relax and unwind in a beautiful setting. Looking forward to coming back someday!

Very beautiful and comfortable place and setting. Near to Grand Marais but removed from the city. Plenty of room for the 6 of us. Kitchen was well equipped. Host had recommendations that were helpful. We explored East and West from Grand Marias so it was a good location for us. We were all pleased and would stay again. Worth the 8 hour drive. Thank you. Communication with the hosts was smooth and fast before and during the stay. The studio was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the patio area, and reading by the fireplace in the evenings. It was so nice to relax on the lakeshore, and it was easy to walk to restaurants and shops nearby. I would def stay here again!

Sweet little place to stay! It is as described. We enjoyed the hot tub and the views of Lake Superior.

MaryKate was very welcoming when we arrived. Super friendly! The surroundings were beautiful with a perfect view of the lake from the front windows. Walking distance to the North Folk School campus and good restaurants. I would highly recommend a stay there.

Loved our stay at Cedar's Seaside Chalet. Everything was exactly as described. The view of Lake Superior was spectacular. Loved falling asleep with the window cracked listening to the waves. Our son really enjoyed the sleeping loft with the skylight and video game. We were in Lutsen to support a friend running a 50K ultra marathon, so we didn't spend a ton of time in the condo, but when we did it was super relaxing and we crashed hard! Will definitely be back again!

Another great stay at Chateau LeVeaux! Hard to beat a private rock shore to relax on with a mini-waterfall flowing into Superior (depending on the season/waterflow).

Mitch and Kevin were excellent hosts. Perfect location for everything Grand Marais has to offer. The shared kitchen and living space was very cozy and the other group staying were friendly and respectful. Beds were comfortable, and they provided a dog bed for my pup that he loved! The only watch out is the seagulls. There was one nesting on the roof of the building that dive-bombed me and my dog a few times when we stepped outside. This is apparently a common thing in Grand Marais so would likely happen anywhere, but good to be aware of! Would absolutely stay again!
