Tranquil rural cottage

Bruno was very welcoming. He left a very generous amount of food for us - milk, bread, eggs etc. The cottage was lovely and warm when we arrived and stayed that way. It is a cosy and comfortable cottage in a nice, quiet location close to town. Bruno was very helpful in suggesting local hike routes.

Tigh an oileain house on the island

Phelims Thatched House was amazing. It was so tranquil and spacious. The log burner in the living room was so cosy when lit on a wet evening. We were a group of eight adults and there was more than enough space for everyone. Thank you Phelim, we will be back again.

If you want an authentic look at the real side of rural Ireland. Then look no further. This couple will make you feel right at home, not just as a guest but as a member of the family almost. Very warm. Very chatty. Very helpful. The site location is awesome. Nestled along a beautiful countryside walk. Good public transport links. Audrey will make sure you're aware of all local going ons and things to do. The value for money is absolutely outstanding for a stay like this. If you want to leave this country feeling like you've taken a little bit of Ireland home with you, then this is the place. You'll arrive as a stranger but leave as a friend.

The Boathouse

DarrenRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Wow, what a place to stay. It's better than the photos. Kevin met us at the property and checked us in in no time, gave advise about the fishing. The private jetty is perfect for peaceful fishing and a short walk in to the town has a few bars with live music in the evening. The house is lovely and clean. We are already deciding when we can get back.
