The Nook Holiday Cottage - Alston AONB

Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Luxury 4 Star Cosy Lakeland Cottage

NicolaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We stayed at Simon and Belinda's place for a week and it was exactly what we needed. Fantastic location for walks and food. The Wainwright's Inn is only 0.2 miles away. Great food and local ales on your doorstep. The cottage is cosy, the kitchen is well equipped and the information provided was very thorough and useful. There are some books in the house they have prepared to show various walks and local recommendations. We did some of these walks and our 5 year old enjoyed every second! We took advantage of the leisure facilities at The Langdale. This was a great addition to the cottage! Really recommend if you want a place near to town locations, walks and local pubs/cafés/restaurants.

What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Wonderful Stay – Highly Recommended! We had an excellent stay at this lovely property. It was very spacious, spotlessly clean, and had so many thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. This included the pint of milk and washing-up liquid provided on arrival and the great selection of games for the kids, everything was well thought out. The kitchen was well-equipped with really nice cutlery, and we appreciated the little extras throughout the house. The location was fantastic too—surrounded by beautiful spots to explore and very close to local attractions. Overall, a perfect place for a relaxing getaway with family. We’d definitely recommend it to others and would love to visit again!

Mill Moss Barn -Helvellyn-superb views-EV charger

Had a wonderful long weekend at Mill Moss Barn. Location is perfect and views from the Barn are stunning. The furniture is modern, clean and comfortable. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds are very comfortable. Michael even provided a travel cot for us which was immaculate. The bathroom had a bath with shower and the water was always lovely and hot. The White Lion pub is just over the road, and the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The mini supermarket is two minutes away in the car and is really handy for all essentials. Great walks on your doorstep and not too far from Ambleside , Windermere and Grasmere. Would definitely stay again.

Apple House - an exquisite bohemian retreat

GracieRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
What an absolute gem we found in Apple House. The pictures really don't do the whole place justice! A cosy, romantic house set in beautiful, serene surroundings. It really was the perfect location for our mini moon! Was lovely to be greeted by the chickens and Russel the dog each morning <3 We were treated to some tasty welcome gifts and the place was spotless, very comfy bed and just the most charming decor. Thank you so much Emma and Craig! We will definitely be returning with more of our family!

Wasdale Head Hall Farm Holiday Let

DanielRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a fantastic stay at this lovely cottage on Wastwater. The setting is stunning — right on the lake and surrounded by beautiful walking routes, perfect for exploring with our 18-month-old and dog. The cottage is tucked away on a peaceful farm with a great outdoor seating area to enjoy the views. It’s quite remote, with the nearest proper shop about 30 minutes away, but the nearby campsite shop (just half a mile down the road) had the essentials we needed. Other than that, everything was perfect. A truly relaxing break in a beautiful location — we’d definitely recommend it!

Unique 18thC Yorks Dales Silk Weavers’ mill house.

BillRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Coming from the States, we were looking for a quintessential Yorkshire Dales experience: someplace peaceful and quiet with beautiful scenery. This place fit the bill perfectly. The house was very comfortable and we especially loved the shower, beds and comforters. It really is self catered so be sure to bring any cooking staples you will need. Beautiful artwork throughout the house, and some great magazines to read on rainy days. We did have an issue on the second to last day we were there - the power went out for no apparent reason. Luckily we were able to isolate the problem circuit and get things partially working again. Claire was very helpful and arranged for showers we could use in the cabins at the main property down the road. All in all, it was a lovely location and we would definitely stay there again.

Lake District cottage for 4 w/ lake and fell views

BridgetRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Denise and Steve could not have been more accommodating. I was staying in their cottage with my Mum in order to attend her grandson's/my nephew's wedding. Mum is a wheelchair user and the cottage allowed easy access from room to room. Other than the shower, which she would not have been able to access, the flow around the cottage worked beautifully. With views down to Lake Windermere across lush gardens, the situation was beautiful and was a perfect place to stay. We had such a lovely weekend, such that my Mum asked when she could move in!. Renewed thanks for allowing us to stay. Best wishes, Bridget

The Place, Loweswater. Utter tranquillity.

ElizabethRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a wonderful stay at The Place. The location is breathtaking, and the house itself is perfect - every detail is beautiful and well thought-out, and Lucy had provided anything one could think of. Everything was of very high quality, from the bed linen and towels to the kitchen equipment. We were all adults, but if you have children, there are lots of toys, games, and activities, so that even on rainy days, there is plenty to do. Great walks nearby, perfect both for those who like hills and those who prefer flatter ground - Buttermere and Crummock are wonderful low ground walks, and of course the walk though Holme Woods to the Kirkstile is lovely. Thanks, Lucy and Nick!

Ivy Cottage, Ambleside

GabrielleRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We had an absolutely amazing stay! The cottage was perfectly located between all the places we wanted to visit—Catbells, Buttermere, and Rydal were all within easy reach, which made exploring the area super convenient. It was so peaceful and cozy, and we slept incredibly well each night. We did have a bit of trouble understanding the instructions to get into the cottage at first, but Sarah was incredibly responsive and calmly guided us through it, which we really appreciated. One small thing to note is that there were no basic kitchen staples like oil, salt, or pepper. For a short trip, buying full bottles can feel a bit excessive, but it wasn’t a big issue for us overall. All in all, we were very happy with our stay and would definitely come back!

Rose Barn, characterful house near Hawkshead

AmyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage, everything was as described and communication/check in was very good - Ross let us know when the cottage had been cleaned so we could arrive earlier than check in which was appreciated. The location was great, walks from the door step, 10 min to the pub (don’t miss the path tucked to the side of the road) and close enough to Hawkshead. A couple of things to note… The property was a little noisy. With the living room and kitchen on the middle floor it was very creaky in the bedrooms below, with two young children going to bed before us this was something we were conscious of but didn’t stop them falling asleep in the end. We also had bad weather when we were there, the wind was rattling the loft hatch next to the master bedroom which did impact sleep one night. We took our dog with us and the house was very comfortable. For small dogs please note there are gaps under the gates in the garden that our miniature dachshund could get under.

One of our favourite ever Airbnb’s! Just the perfect peaceful spot in the quintessential English countryside. The place was brilliantly kitted with so many smaller things you end up needing without realizing it. The full length mirror is always appreciated. Fantastic large smart TV with easy login to any streaming service. The “Herdy” theme for the kitchen was really a nice touch. Great big fridge and freezer. Super comfy bed. Nice big couch to relax after a long day of exploring. Alun was a fantastic host. We will definitely be back!
