Family-friendly vacation rentals in Charlotte

We rented this first floor condo unit for two weeks to be near our son and his family after the birth of their baby. It was perfectly located. The kitchen was well stocked with cookware. It was clean and comfortable. The pool is a quick walk away and quite nice. There are close restaurants and stores. Lake Norman is a very short drive away, and there are lovely greenways easily accessible for walks. There is some noise from people walking upstairs at times, but it’s not excessive and to be expected in a first floor unit. It made a comfortable and affordable “home away from home” during our stay.

My family and I loved our stay at Erin's place. The house was nice and had a big fenced in backyard which was great for our dog. Erin was very responsive and gave clear instructions for check-in and check-out. The area is great and just a few minutes down the street from downtown Matthews. I highly recommend Erin's home to anyone looking for a place to stay in the area!

Very private, safe, and quiet. Could barely hear a thunderstorm which was great as our dog is scared. Rachel's communication is on point. She was very responsive and very accommodating. Would definitely stay here again.

David was amazing from the beginning. We stayed at his place to look at Charlotte as a possibility to move next year. David gave us recommendations and told us about some houses for sale nearby. There was a bottle of wine at perfect temperature for us, he gave us recommendations to eat and even let our dogs stay at the bnb so that we could celebrate my husband’s birthday. Everything was clean and organized. The bed and couch are very comfy and the pool looked to be clean (we didn’t get in). I dont have enough good things to say about our experience. One of the best bnbs we have stayed in a while. Thank you David!

I booked this home so my husband and I could visit our family for the holidays who live about 30 mins away. It was able to accommodate us perfectly. I also have a baby who was able to have an entire nursery to herself which was such a blessing as we wanted her to be comfortable and unaffected. Even though the owners live at the property, the home was absolutely spotless and we felt right at home. They even had a Christmas tree up that we were so excited to gather around on Christmas morning. Very grateful to have found this listing!

My family and I really enjoyed our stay! The unit had anything you could possibly need. Was great not having to run to the store to get this or that as they already had everything available. Very clean!

Absolutely loved our stay here, we were in Charlotte for a concert at the BOA and it was a quick 9 minute drive to and from! The place is just as listed and everything was very clean and the host was very responsive!

Kathrine was amazing! There was a slight hiccup when checking in, which was not her fault, and she responded quickly and handled the issue immediately. The surroundings were peaceful and we loved staying there.

Our stay was great! Fairly quiet neighborhood, and easy to get around. The beds were comfortable, and plenty of space for us to sit to have a meal or watch TV.

Had an amazing stay at the cottage. Plenty of outdoor activities to take part in, including easy access to the lake! Earl was a great host. He was friendly and responsive, and proactive in his communication. Would recommend to anybody looking to stay at Lake Norman!

Stayed for a weekend for a little staycation, enjoyed it every much. Very peaceful and private place to zen.

My family was in Charlotte for a sad event and Mikes home was not only very comfortable but had lots of areas of the home we could individually escape to and be alone with our thoughts. We spent 5 nights and went for walks, watched our 2 pups play in the yard and enjoyed the fully stocked kitchen and the cozy dining room for meals. The bedrooms were all nicely decorated and beds and pillows super comfortable. Our trip was unexpected and we hadn’t packed enough clothing. It was super helpful being able to wash and dry our clothes. Mikes appliances were so nice it was a reminder I would love to replace my washer and dryer! My immediate and extended family visit Charlotte often. I am so grateful to have found this gem of a house. No doubt we will be back often. Oh and I must suggest a fabulous place to have dinner if you like seafood and sushi….New Zealand Cafe. Quaint, delicious and extremely affordable. Took an Uber in order to indulge in adult beverages!

A Hidden Gem in SouthPark! Our stay at this charming basement apartment in SouthPark was nothing short of exceptional! From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the thoughtful touches, stylish decor, and overall comfort the space provided. It truly felt like a private retreat tucked away in one of Charlotte’s most beautiful and walkable neighborhoods. The apartment was immaculately clean, spacious, and luxurious. The furnishings were high-end and tastefully chosen, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and the modern bathroom felt spa-like. We also appreciated the well-equipped kitchenette, cozy living area, and beautifully crafted covered patio — perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring. Location-wise, you really can't beat it. Wow! What an amazing experience. First of all, the area is beautiful with farms and land. Check-in was a breeze. As a history nerd, I LOVED that there was information about how this house once was and about the old residents. Lindy was a wonderful host, she was very kind and very responsive. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was pristine. I would absolutely stay here again!

Location was great as we were in Charlotte to go to NASCAR track. 10 minute drive. Was clean and offered all amenities for a good stay. Quiet and relaxed neighborhood. Could however use update with fresh coat of paint.

Nick's unit is located in a very nice area of town and close to Queens University. It is clean and spacious, it worked well for three of us. Nick was prompt with his communication with us during our stay. Even though the unit is located on a lower level, plenty of natural light is able to get into the unit. We would recommend this to anyone and will stay here again in the future!
