Uncle Nelson's Woodland Hideaway! Scottsburg, VA

StevenRating, 5 stars5 months ago
This is a great place to stay. Everything you see is here. Clean comfortable getaway and quiet. Well worth the price I would say. My only slight complaint that can't be helped is the internet is a little slow for gaming. Watching movies on the Big roku TV works like a charm. Overall I loved it and the host were very accommodating and responsive. They even let us bring our small Christmas tree for the holiday. Definitely book this place!

A wooden fenced gate leads into a spacious grassy area, featuring silhouettes of figures on either side. The gate's design adds a unique touch, while surrounding trees provide a natural backdrop. The ground is mostly level, offering a spacious area for outdoor activities.

Relaxing home next to Staunton River State Park

Paul has done a wonderful job with this Air B&B. We were visiting family and brought our dogs along with us. The fenced back yard was amazing b/c the dogs were able to run and play safely. Fire pit, teether ball, frisbee golf, picnic table and more. Inside the unit was clean and comfortable. Super comfortable beds. Coffee maker was an awesome addition. For anyone visiting the area, we would recommend this stay.

Couples retreat, family getaway, spacious, private

Our family had a wonderful time as always! We especially enjoyed watching and learning the process of “tossing” and “rolling” the hay in the fields next to the property! We look forward to our next visit!
The front view of a charming two-story white house features black shutters and a welcoming green door. A brick pathway leads to the entrance, lined by well-maintained shrubs and trees, enhancing the property's inviting presence.

Small Town Virginia Charm (Historic King St)

Dan communicated well and was very accommodating. The house was very close to a wedding we attended which made our travel day with a toddler possible. The house was tidy and fit our needs.

A vibrant rainbow arcs across a rural landscape, with a red barn and a white cottage situated near the horizon. Lush green fields and neatly trimmed bushes complement the scene, while a few bare trees are visible in the background under a cloudy sky.

Marigold's Retreat-A Lovely Country Cottage

Anna LRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Our recent stay was nothing short of magical! From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in a profound sense of peace and quiet that was exactly what we needed. The symphony of birds singing throughout the day was a constant, delightful backdrop to our relaxation. Meeting Marigold the pig was a definite highlight – she was absolutely precious! We also adored seeing the bunnies, roosters, ducks, and even hummingbirds flitting about, adding to the idyllic farm charm. Even the weather contributed to the experience; watching the storms roll in and then being graced with a magnificent rainbow made for unforgettable moments. Our host was truly exceptional – friendly, outgoing, and incredibly kind, making us feel right at home. The special amenities, like the delicious local honey, really showcased the warmth and generosity of the family behind this wonderful place. We could truly feel the love and care poured into both the family and the property.
A spacious area features a queen bed with a blue and white patterned quilt. Two comfortable leather chairs are positioned in front, complemented by a small table and chairs in the background. Natural light fills the room through recessed lighting and the slanted ceiling adds character.

Private, Poolside Balcony with High Speed Internet

Everyone was very friendly. Stepping inside kind of reminded me of being in my parent's house, which is not a bad thing. The views are amazing, due to weather I didn't get to enjoy the pool. Next time. Being pet friendly is a huge plus. Will definitely return.

Quiet Country Hideaway near Clarksville

DarylRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
We enjoyed our stay and heartily recommend this home and its lovely setting. It was every bit as quiet and secluded as described. Absolutely silent except for birds. The house isn't fancy, but it was comfortable, spacious enough (2 bedrooms, 2 living rooms with TVs, a big kitchen) and spotless, offering all the amenities any visitor would need (down to a pair of binoculars for bird-watching). The wifi was fast, with a solid connection. The location, about halfway between Chase City and Clarksville, is a short drive to Occonechee State Park, MacCallum More gardens, Kerr Lake or Preswould (closed, sadly, when we were there). If you want a pretty drive, it's about a half-hour to Staunton River State Park. Book lovers should visit Wilkerson Books on Virginia Ave. in Clarksville. For astronomy buffs, I'll add that the skies here are very dark and good for deep sky observation. There are lots of places to set up a scope. I spent a fun evening of astrophotography just steps from the porch.

"Sisters" Charming Lakefront Home near Farmville

Anna CarolinaRating, 5 stars1 month ago
We booked the Sister’s Lake house for my son‘s graduation party from Hampton Sydney College. The Airbnb was exactly as described in the listing. My family and friends enjoyed the place so much we didn’t want to leave. It was serene, spacious and made our guests feel at home.
