Cottage vacation rentals in Chalais

We LOVED our stay. The home is super stylish AND comfortable. Plus, it’s very private. We felt like we had our own home in the vineyards, away from *everything* (although you can still drive to Saint Emillion in 30 minutes or Bordeaux in around an hour). Karine also supplied everything you would need or want, including a speaker so you can hang out in the garden/hot tub and listen to music, which we did most of the time 😅 Overall I can’t recommend it enough. We actually hope to come back and stay because we enjoyed our week there so much!

We had the pleasure of staying in one of Meg and Mark’s gîtes with our 2 teenage daughters for 4 nights. I had no hesitation in booking the gite having seen how beautiful it looked on the website and reading the glowing reviews both on the website and on Airbnb. On arrival we received a warm welcome from Meg and Mark who showed us around the gîte and the grounds. The gîte itself is just beautiful. It is absolutely spotless and exceptionally well equipped. The beds were super comfortable made even better by the high quality bedding. The grounds and gardens are very well kept and the pool is stunning with great views of the surrounding countryside - it was a big hit as was the hot tub in our private garden! To top it off, Meg and Mark are the most fantastic warm, friendly and welcoming hosts but always respectful of our privacy. Thank you Meg and Mark for a truly memorable few days and for your fantastic hospitality. Chez Lussaud is an absolute gem and is a credit to you!

Great for a short stay in a beautiful part of France! The host instructions re. local amenities and activities are super helpful given the relatively remote location.

We have just had a jolly spiffing holiday at Petit Grange! Monpazier is of course as beautiful as ever and the beer at Biere De Las Bastide still as quaffable, and all just 5 mins walk away! Petite Grange was perfect for our stay, having ample room to accommodate four adults. Everything you need has been thoughtfully included and all is clean and fresh as you'd expect from top notch hosts. Although we didn't try the pool or hottub (it being out of season) we found the garden and veranda offered both sunshine and shade, along with stunning views and a much-used BBQ, indeed if it wasn't such a beautiful area with much to see we could happily just hang out at Petite Grange - and will definitely return! je crois n'avoir jamais loué un logement aussi propre et quel plaisir ! La maison est conforme à la description et encore mieux que sur les photos. L'équipement de la cuisine est au top. Nous nous sommes sentis comme chez nous et cela n'est pas facile ! Maison au calme mais les commerces sont à 5 minutes en voiture. Nous avons trouvé le jacuzzi agreable pour passer le nouvelle année. Merci à Pauline pour sa disponibilité et son accueil. Sejour en famille reposant et ressourçant. A refaire en été pour cette fois-ci profiter de la piscine.

Le logement est très fonctionnel, bien agencé et décoré avec beaucoup de goût. Rien ne manque pour passer un séjour agréable, tout est pensé pour le confort des voyageurs. On s’y sent tout de suite comme chez soi. Je recommande vivement ce lieu à toute personne en quête de calme et de sérénité

We absolutely loved our stay in this charming gite. The hosts, Samantha and Jamie were so very friendly and welcoming. They made our stay very enjoyable. The gite was spotless, well equipped, very comfortable and had 2 outdoor areas to relax and admire the pretty garden. We enjoyed it so much we would love to visit again. We highly recommend this place.

A really lovely place surrounded by vineyards and with easy access to local towns. Bordeaux is a 90 min drive through some charming villages. I brought my dog and she loved the fenced garden. She loved Jonathan too! In fact, both Jonathan and Lesley are the most welcoming, considerate, generous and helpful of hosts. I stayed for a few weeks and would return in a heartbeat.

The house was really beautiful and had a good size outdoor area which was great for sunbathing and relaxing. Katherine left us a welcome pack which included fresh croissants and bread, orange juice, milk, butter, jam and a very nice bottle of wine! Very much appreciated. Each room has a fan and the shutters keep the house nice and cool. The house is in a quiet location but perfect for exploring the Dordogne and Charente. A car is a must.

Logement parfait, pleins d'équipements pour de la bonne cuisine ;) Jardin et super terrasse panoramique, la rivière tout près et les échanges avec Dorothée très faciles tout le long du séjour. Super !

Merci pour ce charmant cottage, nous y avons passé de très bons moments en famille. Le jardin est superbe, arboré, calme et agréable. La fraicheur de la maison est très agréable en été. Tout est conforme à la description, avec en bonus des bacs de jouets pour les enfants !! :)

Séjour parfait chez Lizzie et Pascal. Le lieu est magnifique et paisible et l’accueil fort sympathique. Notre petit pigeonnier était très cosy et très agréable! Parfait pour notre séjour! L’emplacement est très central entre bergerac, sarlat et Périgueux mais également proche des magnifiques différents villages de la région. Nous avons eu du mal à repartir!

holiday experience was great from start to finish very helpful hosts and set in a very scenic area which was close to the major attractions in the area whether you wanted to explore grottos or chateaus / castles or scenic towns all were within easy reach. welcomed and shown around the property and shown and explained all we needed to know , the use of bikes - bike path right next to property close to villages of les Eyzies and le Bugue 2 person kayak right next to river Vezere - very relaxing paddle on the river not to be missed out. pool area was great and heated with lovely gardens and lots of areas to sit with your morning coffee badminton net and rackets supplied your own barbecue area and every utensil for barbecue or kitchen was supplied first experience with air bnb and the hosts went above and beyond what we expected very pleased many thanks for having us David & Caroline

We loved our stay here. Beautiful location in rolling countryside, comfortable accomodation with amenities just a short drive away. Our host, Fran was very friendly and responsive. The gite was just lovely. We had a great time and would go back.

Le logement d'Amanda est ultra cosy. Nous avons passé une soirée au coin du feu, bouquin en main enroulés dans nos plaids. j'ai adoré la petite terrasse qui donne sur le champ des moutons. La literie est de bonne qualité. Si nous repassons dans la région aucune question, nous re-louerons ce gîte !

This is a really lovely cottage in amongst the vines, and a wonderful pool, terrace, bbq... It was extremely hot for the first few days (over 38 degrees) and although the cottage wasn't air-conditioned, it was cool and there were plenty of fans. Emma was extremely helpful and suggested lots of local restaurants and activities which were all great. The cottage was well supplied with everything we needed - good for cooking, and I read from (and donated to) the great little library of books provided. The unexpected bonus was that her TV could access UK BBC live and we watched a LOT of the Olympics with UK commentary! Such a lovely holiday, thank you.

Que dire! L'accueil de Katie et Matt est exceptionnel. ils ont été super flexible et ont répondu à tous nos besoins sans même qu'on ai a demander. les petits repas et petits déjeuners sont un vrai plus très appréciable, et c'était délicieux. Un accueil que nous ne sommes pas prêt d'oublier. Nous reviendrons !

Nette kleine Ferienwohnung, wirklich sehr gut ausgestattet, ruhig gelegen. Auf der Terrasse kann man abend gemütlich sitzen, vorn am Fluss gibt es auch einen schönen Sitzbereich, um den Sonnenuntergang zu genießen. Im Wohnzimmer gibt es ein Gästebett, dieses ist eher für Kinder geeignet, mit dem Gewicht eines Erwachsenen hängt es zu sehr durch und ist nicht so bequem. Da wir es aber eh als Bett für die Kinder planten, war es für uns ausreichend. Eric und seine Frau waren sehr nett und herzlich. Die Umgebung bietet die Möglichkeit vieler Weinverkostungen, nach Bordeaux ist es nicht weit und auch in der Umgebung gibt es einiges zu erkunden.

Le logement est propre, clair et fidèle à la description Nous n’avons pas pu profiter de la piscine un peu fraîche début juin. Extérieur propre et spacieux Nous avons passé un agréable séjour chez Joachim. Je recommande sans hésiter

Murray andTracy were wonderful hosts who were very welcoming and friendly. They left basic supplies like bread, milk, cheese etc so we had something to eat on arrival. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They even invited us to join a group of their friends to a concert in Duras There was a variety of herbs, spices and cooking oils, as well as plenty of crockery, cutlery, glassware and cooking pots so we had everything we could possibly need. The property was tastefully decorated and furnished with lots of pictures so it felt very homely.
