We had a wonderful stay at Greg's home. Ray, who showed us round gave us the perfect welcome and explained everything to us. The photos looked fantastic but it's even more beautiful in person. Amazing facilities, very clean, and every single bedroom was lovely. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything you could need to cook a big meal, there was a huge supply of tea and coffee and they even provided milk and biscuits! The hot tub was a welcome addition, incredibly well maintained, worked perfectly and lovely and warm by the time we came to use it. It's just the perfect home for entertaining. We visited as a family of six adults and thought it was brilliant, from the enormous TV to the boardgames and Sonos system. There was just so much room - perfect for small children too. The weather was awful but we didn't mind staying in because the house was so beautiful. We would stay again in a heartbeat!

Lovely place to stay plenty of local places to take the dog for a walk and within a 20-25 minute drive you could access numerous other places and towns to visit. Lovely stay and place the hot tub was nice to relax in after long days.

We absolutely loved our stay. The cottage was beautifully decorated and well equipped, making us feel right at home. The area and scenery were beautiful, making for the perfect relaxing stay.

We had a fantastic family holiday with our two children. the house has everything you will need and Marisa was very helpful during our stay. The kids loved the chickens and the hot tub! Great rural location close to lots of great sights Thanks for having us! x

We loved staying at Scarlett’s place. We had everything we needed and everything was so easy to use. Very responsive host and great for letting us know that the place was ready an hour early! Hot tub was nice and warm with great location and privacy. We went to travellers rest (10 min walk) and the food was so nice and big portion sizes for the price. We even went back later on for the Wednesday night quiz night! Overall great place and would definitely stay again. Thank you

We were lucky enough to stay at the Nook this weekend and couldn’t have asked for more. Wayne and Dave are so thoughtful with the attention to detail for guests to enjoy and really go the extra mile with thoughtful treats on arrival and ensuring you have everything you need. We had the most beautiful stay — the cottage was peaceful, private, and instantly felt like home. Everything was spotless and smelt amazing, with such a lovely, calming vibe throughout. The decor was gorgeous, and the beds were incredibly comfortable. The hot tub was the perfect finishing touch for a truly relaxing weekend. The hosts went above and beyond with thoughtful details like fresh eggs in the morning and chocolates waiting for us on arrival. Communication was smooth and friendly from start to finish. You can really feel the care and effort put into every part of the stay. I’d absolutely recommend this place — it’s a little gem, and I’d love to return!

Heidi & Chris were great hosts, they provided lots of useful information on places to visit and where to eat out. The cottage was spotless, it had everything you needed. We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

Lovely location .just as described relly enjoyed stay

Chimney Cottage is a lovely place to stay, very close to relatives we were visiting. I loved the quaint village although the parking tested my ability. (Not like open spaces in Australia). The cottage is beautifully decorated with the perfect mix of modern and old and having the Butchers Arms near by was really convenient for good meals and friendly service. Ashley, our host, was very friendly and always helpful when we had queries. Thank you Ashley, I’d love to stay again.

The Writer's Cottage was everything we expected, and a whole load more. Quirky and individual don't go near to describing it! Heath's welcome was great (even though we arrived considerably earlier than expected) and his local knowledge and recommendations were awesome. We used it as a base for lovely walks from the property, and slightly further afield to the National Mining Museum (new to us, highly recommended) and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (an old favourite) near Wakefield. Useful information (might already be covered in the listing) - It is not remotely suitable for young people who cannot be "trusted" (lots of lovely but small, sharp, heavy, unsteady objects). People with reduced mobility should probably check with Heath too. Other points (which did not cause us any issues) the kitchen was fine but there is no microwave / dishwasher / washing machine / tumble dryer. We would love to stay again if back in the area.

Skylark cottage is in a lovely spot, a perfect retreat from busy life and a really calming space inside and out. It was spotless, cosy and well equipped. The newly created wood was a joy to walk through and our dog loved it here too!

What a fantastic little cottage, perfect for a weekend away. Lovely hosts and perfect location for exploring Yorkshire, we would definitely recommend and hope to visit again sometime.

Beautiful and cosy little cottage in a picturesque village a 15/20 minute drive from York. We stayed in winter &, besides anything else, the log burning fire alone made it ultra cosy whilst the winds outside blew. The cottage had all the amenities for us to feel at home, including a very good shower and full kitchen. Rich was a very friendly and responsive host who was more than willing to accommodate our request to bring our dog too. Thank you very much for letting us stay!!

Our second stay at Waterwheel Cottage and it won't be our last. It was just as we remembered and is incredibly great value for money for such a well equipped and beautiful home-from-home, especially during school holidays when unlike many other accommodation providers, the owners don't inflate the prices. We had a full Yorkshire wet weather experience but it didn't detract from the amazing activities and opportunities for exploration available on our doorstep. And coming home to the quiet and cosy cottage each afternoon was a joy. Another fantastic trip that has truly worn us out but with so much still to do in the area we won't hesitate to book again soon.

A lovely, peaceful cottage, with beautiful flower garden all around. Lots of nice country walks, a quiet location and a sunny courtyard to enjoy a glass of wine. We appreciated space to let our dogs off-lead. Judy is a friendly and thoughtful host. Thank you.

Wonderful stay. David was a great, welcoming host, lovely arrival gifts of cake flowers, bread and the biggest choice of hot drinks available I've ever seen! Lovely inside , comfy lounge, wonderful bedding and robes. Great shower. Beautiful outside space. Really pleased with our choice to stay here.

A truly beautiful location and a lovely cottage. We had a great week and wished we could have stayed longer. Jane was on hand with lots of local information and made us feel very much at home.

This was our first time using airbnb and they set the bar ihigh. We received a warm welcome. Every need was catered for from cotton buds to laundry. pods. A beautiful property and surroundings; the cottage was clean rhoughtout Lots to do in the area with nice cafes and restaurants. We highly recommend this place and the hosts. Thank you🙂

Really pleased with the stay at Compton Cottage. Perfect location, everything clean, great local info (used the buses), pubs round the corner plus post office/shop, nice extras in the bathrooms, and kitchen well equipped along with tea and coffee.

Such a beautiful location to stay in and a lovely cottage. Jill was warm, welcoming and really helpful. I would definitely recommend!
