A Casa Aurora (CA) é uma antiga habitação familiar recentemente remodelada. Ao passear pela CA vai cruzar-se com alguns retratos da família da Aurora e com alguns objetos em "lata" que sussurram a história da antiga latoaria do João que em tempos habitou a cave. Tal como uma boa casa de família, a CA recebe muita gente nos seus 4 quartos com cama de casal, na sala com sofá-cama, na cozinha equipada, nos 2 WC e ainda na fantástica churrasqueira e forno a lenha no jardim! It has heaters in the bedrooms, air conditioning in the living room. The living room has a fireplace. The stairs to the second bedroom are Santos Dumont stairs: sloping, with each step going back on the side that won't be used for the ascent). Among the services we offer is breakfast, which is optional (8€ a day, per person).

House of Schist in the center of Portugal

Three schist houses being restored at the village of Cunqueiros, in the municipality of Proença-a-Nova, form the Casas da Encosta project. Here it’s possible to relive the life history and culture of the region’s people in the comfort of a typical Portuguese village. According to the owner, Nuno Caldeira, the houses are being restored following the local construction tradition where schist, clay and wood are featured. One of them, Casa da Lagariça, has already opened.
