Cabin vacation rentals in Burke County

We have long been visitors to the Linville Gorge area and had a big weekend of activites planned. This house was the perfect hub spot and provided everything we needed to relax and recover in between adventures. None of us were sad about the lack of internet - unplugging was an added bonus!

Wow where do we start, the cabin was absolutely perfect and had anything you could think of from zip lock bags to beach towels and then there is the amazing surroundings of nature including little chickadee birds and frisky squirrels hopping from tree to tree there was so much to do within a short drive like mesmerizing waterfalls and breath taking views from the grandfather mountain !! If you want the best sleep of your life the king size bed will take you to heaven for the night and of course Shannon the host was extremely helpful with suggestion on where to go and what to see so hands down the best place we have stayed

If I could give 10 stars, I would. Roho's cabin is set in a beautiful area with the creek below. The cabin itself was so comfy and cozy. While being off the beaten path, the cabin had everything you needed and all the creature comfort details were thought of. The wood burning hot tub was a true delight. Truly such a lovely place. April was an amazing host. Great communication, very friendly and she also sent tons of recommendations for things to do in the area, although I didn't want to leave the cabin 😂 I can't wait to come back and visit again.

Lauren went above and beyond with this amazing cabin tucked away in the woods. There is such a strong attention to detail that can’t go unnoticed from the home curated coffee left for you to enjoy to the claw foot bathtub and then back around to the adorable loft with a hammock you will truly feel that this is more than an Airbnb. This is an experience. Wish we didn’t have to leave!

Nicole's place is very quiet, peaceful and serene. Neighbors we nice and friendly. We felt right at home. Plenty of things to keep kids busy.

Amazing stay! Beautiful view, all the amenities you could want plus more, super clean, everything works, peaceful and quiet. The host was very responsive. Luckily, we didn't need anything or any help during our stay but I'm sure it would have been an easy and quick fix if we needed them. Linville Caverns was an awesome little adventure, just a short drive away and I highly recommend a visit. The road leading to the cabin is steep with some tight turns but we made it up and down just fine in a FWD minivan. Just be sure to stay alert and yield to cars going uphill as per community standards. Be aware: those with low vehicles may have difficulties navigating the driveway. Side note: people with back issues may want to avoid the master bedroom bed. However, the other beds are comfortable. We would still love to make a return visit in the future.

We loved our stay here, the cabin was super cozy and the hot tub was great. Loved waking up and being able to go out onto the balcony and just sit on the rocking chairs

I brought my family to the mountains for a peaceful getaway, and this cabin completely exceeded our expectations. If you think the photos are beautiful, just wait until you see it in person..the views are absolutely breathtaking. Every corner of the house was incredibly cozy, from the spacious living areas to the inviting bedrooms with top-floor views that left us speechless. It was also spotless, so clean! Mike was an amazing host! So responsive, kind, and helpful throughout our stay. We made unforgettable memories here. The beds were incredibly comfortable, the home had everything we needed, and the jacuzzi was the cherry on top. Watching the sunrise over the mountains while sipping coffee, even from inside the house..was magical. My parents & sisters were blown away, and it meant so much to give my family such an incredible experience. This was the most peaceful, relaxing trip we’ve had in a long time. Thank you, Mike, for being such a thoughtful host. We WILL be back!

Great cabin, very close to many of the big hikes on the Eastern rim of the Linville Gorge. House was very clean, comfortable, and decorated with lots of cool art. Good books and games too. Kitchen was well equipped. Wi-Fi was good. The cleaning fee was steep, nearly $200, especially considering the very detailed check-out instructions. All in all, a really pleasant place to stay.

Amazing Cabin to stay at and amazing people who genuinely take care of the home and make sure your personal experience doesn’t feel like a vacation but a Home away from home. Loved them Thank you! Definitely will come back soon to this location!

We stayed at Bill’s cabin for 3 nights and had a great time. The cabin was well equipped with anything you may need. He even had extra items such as flashlights, umbrellas, camping chairs etc available for guests to use. The movie room was super cool and very well thought out, it even had a popcorn machine! The cabin was only a short drive from lots of hiking trails and the Linville gorge. Bill even shared some local places for us to visit and we really enjoyed them. Definitely recommend staying here!

We found this property so well appointed with all of the necessary items we might have lacked. Because of its location and the possibility of being stranded due to in-climate weather, Jason has stocked many items of which a person might need in the event they didn’t bring enough supplies for a few days. We looked at the food items that are stored as being a backup in the event we were stranded for a few days. Fortunately, for us, we over supply ourselves because other properties we have utilized were completely less supplied. We found that all the bases were covered for food, spices, dishes, snacks, as well as things like the barbecue grill and outdoor fire pit. We were very impressed with how the house was supplied and set up for a renter. It was almost like we walked into our own home with supplies existing. We were glad to have this wonderful experience, and would consider it in the future again.

Beautiful area, quiet, peaceful, and inviting to be still. House was very clean and cozy. It felt like we were in the “cottage in the woods”. My sister and I enjoyed our stay. She even said why don’t we see if we could stay a few days longer. Planning on returning.

The cabin was well maintained and had everything needed to be comfortable while still being simple. It was a cool weekend and the heater was very effective in warming the cabin. The driveway was a little interesting to navigate but a note from Erin inside the door made navigating this a breeze. The beds were comfortable and everything was very clean. The proximity to the parkway would be amazing if it were open, maybe next time!

Host was very quick to respond to any of our questions and concerns, and the home is very nice!

My only wish is that I owned a place like this on the lake myself!

Loved the space and location, very serene and peaceful. The cabin is so welcoming and inviting, every detail thought through. Well stocked kitchen. Very nice bathroom towels like at home. Loved the space! Kids enjoyed the games and the trail was long, you can definitely get lost in the woods there. The porch and the views were the best in the morning, birds chirping and so quiet, it’s unforgettable! We already want to come back:)

This cabin is stunning! Communication with Karen was wonderful, as we were the first guests in following the hurricanes this Fall. We arrived without incident and enjoyed our time here SO much! Would HIGHLY recommend you visit. Pictures cannot possibly capture the beauty within and surrounding this cabin once you see it for yourself. Without a doubt, would definitely stay here again!

Our group of teachers had the most amazing overnight stay at this spacious cabin, and it was exactly what we needed to unwind and recharge. Nestled in a peaceful winter wonderland, the cabin was a cozy yet expansive space that comfortably fit all of us. The cabin had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped, allowing us to prepare meals together and share laughs over dinner. The spacious common areas provided plenty of room for us to spread out and enjoy each other's company without feeling crowded. Overall, our stay was exactly what we needed as a group of teachers. It allowed us to connect, relax, and recharge in an environment that felt both peaceful and invigorating. Highly recommend for a group of few people or family who are looking to escape to a serene winter retreat!

We were a party of 8. We were very comfortable. Beautiful home. Very clean. Kind host. Beautiful area. If I could give more than 5 stars I would!

Stayed for several months while working remotely. Beautiful place in both winter and spring. Several gorgeous hiking trails nearby. Cabin is extremely cozy with a great private fire pit area in the back. Charcoal & gas grills provided. Very fast/reliable WiFi for streaming, Zoom calls, etc. Amazing host. William is super friendly and always willing to drop whatever he’s doing and answer any questions or provide assistance when needed. Will definitely stay again next time I’m in the area.

This was our second stay. So beautiful and cozy! Great basement with games; darts ping pong, basketball, video games. Great kitchen for simple cooking and dining. We had a fun filled family vacation with snow tubing at Hawksnest. The snow storm did not scare us a bit, we enjoyed it!!!

Our recent stay at this charming cabin offered the perfect escape for our family. We were thoroughly impressed by how well-maintained and clean the house was upon arrival. It truly felt like a home away from home. The area is perfect for outdoor enthusiasts, with numerous hiking trails that cater to all levels of experience. Each hike yielded stunning views and the opportunity to reconnect with nature. What struck us most during our stay was the resilience of the community in the aftermath of the flooding that affected North Carolina. It was heartwarming to see the amount of work that has gone into rebuilding the area, both in terms of the homes and the spirit of the people. As long-time vacationers in the mountains, witnessing this transformation was inspiring and added an extra layer to our experience. We highly recommend this cabin for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

We were thrilled with our decision to stay at Fishing Bear cabin! Natalie was a responsive and cordial hostess. The cabin is in a perfect location for all the activities of the area. That said, the property is beautiful and worth a stay if you just need a little R&R. If we make it back to the area, I would stay here again.
