What a wonderful place for a peaceful break away. The house was so comfortable with all the amenities needed. The hot tub was a lovely addition too! My son, who loves wildlife photography, absolutely adored the river. He spent every possible moment down there photographing Kingfishers! I would definitely recommend to anyone who loves birds and wildlife.

Beautiful home, very spacious and plenty of amenities. felt right at home! perfect for toddlers too. Ian was great, very helpful and easily contactable.

We arrived on the Friday for a 3 night stay. The Barn is in a beautiful place inside and out. The Hot Tub was lovely on an evening and the patio fire was great to sit around for drinks early evening watching the Sun go down. Casterton village is only a couple of miles from Kirkby Lonsdale. The village its self had a gorgeous pub 7 mins walk from the Barn which had a great range of food and served Sourdough pizza on Sunday evening after 1700hrs with a lovely warm atmosphere and open fires. There is a great taxi service and some fabulous restaurants near to the Barn. The Black Bull and the Highwayman were fabulous. (We did go to Number 9 also and it was not somewhere I could recommend, service and food really poor.) Patrick and Anika were great responsive hosts and this is a do not miss property, that offers every you need for a fabulous stay. Our little group loved it. Thank you Karen, Denise and Naomi

Hermitage cottage was in a beautiful situation right on the river Lune. The cottage was clean and tidy. We enjoyed the hot tub, the barbecue and the outdoor seating. We were extremely fortunate with the weather and really enjoyed our stay. Walks around the estate were lovely. It is a lovely base to explore the Forest of Bowland and surrounding areas.

Stunning bay views made the cottage the perfect place to relax. The bed was super comfy, and we loved the little extra touches like the soft robes and complimentary tea, coffee, and milk. Just a short, scenic walk along the promenade to the village for supplies. The weather wasn’t the best, but the cosy cottage more than made up for it. Highly recommend! Thank you Gemma

It was brilliant from start to finish host were fab always attentive and on call location was good as only round the corner there was loads of pubs and food places and only 25 mins to Blackpool really fab and would recommend to everyone

The cottage is absolutely lovely! Just be aware the access is through a narrow arch, we got through in a big car but it was a squeeze. The cottage is so comfortable and clean too. The kitchen is fully equipped and the cottage has everything you could need! Gaz was really responsive and it was easy to get into the cottage. Loads to do in Kendal and food and drinks minutes away!

We really enjoyed a few days in Ian's spacious cottage, which is in a great location with easy access to Windermere and Ambleside. A well equipped kitchen and comfortable beds were much appreciated.

Coming from the States, we were looking for a quintessential Yorkshire Dales experience: someplace peaceful and quiet with beautiful scenery. This place fit the bill perfectly. The house was very comfortable and we especially loved the shower, beds and comforters. It really is self catered so be sure to bring any cooking staples you will need. Beautiful artwork throughout the house, and some great magazines to read on rainy days. We did have an issue on the second to last day we were there - the power went out for no apparent reason. Luckily we were able to isolate the problem circuit and get things partially working again. Claire was very helpful and arranged for showers we could use in the cabins at the main property down the road. All in all, it was a lovely location and we would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful cottage - comfortable, cosy and equipped with everything you’ll need for a great stay. Lots of lovely original features - especially the wonderful bath and shower! Beautiful bedrooms with comfortable beds and beautiful views. Peaceful location and conveniently located. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend for your stay in the Lakes!

We had an amazing 2-night stay at Jane’s place. The house is absolutely beautiful and set in breathtaking surroundings—the photos really don’t do it justice, as the real thing is far more exquisite. The decor is warm and homely, yet spacious enough to comfortably fit the five of us. Both bathrooms were spotless—one with a shower and the other with a bathtub, which gave us the flexibility to choose. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed, including ample fridge space. The garden is also worth mentioning—gorgeous and clearly very well cared for. We especially loved the fireplace; it truly felt like the cherry on top of an already perfect stay. The house manual was detailed and extremely helpful, covering everything we needed to know. Jane was a wonderful host—so warm and thoughtful. She welcomed us with a lovely letter and some delicious biscuits, which made us feel right at home from the start. Highly recommended!

What a great little place. Cozy and welcoming in a quiant surrounding. The house was spotless and perfect for everything we needed. Walking distance to the pub, walking distance to the lake and other scenic spots. The railway at the bottom of the garden made the experience even better for our 2 kids. Would recommend this place as a great base to explore the lakes. Thanks for a brilliant week

We absolutely 💯 loved our short stay at Nursery end cottage. It was perfect. Warm, comfortable & cosy. It had everything you could think of. We were welcomed with a lovely welcome pack & thankyou card. The cottage is in a beautiful, peaceful area surrounded by sheep and hills. We chose to stay here as it wasn't far from Scafell pike. I would recommend to anyone to stay in this cottage and would definitely book it again. It's just beautiful. We only wish we could of stayed longer.

Absolutely perfect for our needs and only an hour away from the lake district without the lake district prices. Great communication easy to check in Clean exactly as the pictures described.

Just loved this cottage, its in a great location, no need to go out in your car as there is plently to do nearby. The cottage is very clean and nicely done out. It is well equipped, with a nice little hamper box on arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Five stars from us.

We had a wonderful stay at Silver Howe, the cottage was perfect for exploring the Lakes. It was a real home from home with a handy local shop and pub. The private fenced garden was great as we had our dog with us, it also kept out the local sheep! Would recommend Rebecca’s place for a visit, it was clean, has great amenities and lots of character and charm. The lovely walk along the river to Elterwater is recommended, as is a stop at the Britannia Inn, the food was very good. Overall a great stay, thank you.

We recently stayed at the cottage for a wedding and it couldn’t have been more perfect! Tom was a fantastic responsive host and very accommodating for early check in which was a huge help. The cottage is beautiful, well equipped, clean & perfect for a weekend or weeks stay for a large group! We hope to return again soon - thank you!

Absolutely perfect accommodation for our little trip to Kendal! Easy walking distance into town! The cottage was beautifully presented and the host even left us a little basket of goodies which was a lovely touch! Would 100% stay again

Very comfortable and well equipped cottage for 2 plus dog. Close to all village restaurants and pubs. Private off road parking which is very welcome. Cottage has everything you might need , good wi fi, Samsung smart tv, fully fitted kitchen. Bed is super comfortable and lots of places to walk your dog nearby. Definitely recommend and hope to visit again.

The cottage was amazing! So much character and located so beautifully in a quiet village. The attention to detail, cleanliness and personal touches left us feeling so well looked after by our host. We spent a perfect weekend at the cottage. Be it for walks, cycling or just chilling out in the wonderful back garden, Claire’s place is the perfect option. Our family loved it here and we’ll be keen to return for future stays.

Fabulous little find here. Very functional cottage with some fantastic views. Need to be able to drive but that’s not really a big issue. Very responsive and helpful hosts who made the stay very easy.
