Characterful Peak District Cottage in Hartington

SarahRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
A beautiful cottage in a perfect location. The cottage had everything we could need and more. The beds were very comfortable, the accommodation was clean and there was a lovely selection of books and games. We are a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children), and had tonnes of space. It could have very comfortably have slept 6. Hartington is a beautiful village with everything you could need.. pubs, a village store, tea room, cheese shop… We did a nice 3 mile walk right from the door to the river dove and to a little cave (our 4 year old son doesn’t enjoy walking but he absolutely loved it). Our 7 year old daughter said she will be coming back to The Cottage with her own family when she’s older. We will be recommending this accommodation to family. And hope to be back one day. Thank you Dave and Katie for sharing this wonderful home.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Chris and Jenny are fantastic hosts. The cottage is in a beautiful village and a short distance from so many picturesque locations. The cottage is easy to find and is absolutely immaculate with everything you need for a fantastic stay. It was perfect for us as a family. We were not ready to come home and will certainly be in touch with Chris and Jenny to organise a further stay in the future.

Absolutely amazing place ...stay was so relaxing and peaceful. The accommodation has wow factor. Everything needed to make a comfortable stay was provided and well thought out. Surprise brownies were a bonus and delicious. Gerry was helpful and knowledgeable. I'd return here again for well needed breaks from hectic lifestyle. Once home I missed waking to the views and sound of birds. Thank you.

Air conditioned Woodcutters ~ Romantic Retreat

Was overall a very good stay, loved it for my partners birthday. Enjoyed the extra touch of cake and prosecco which we enjoyed under the stars in the outdoor bath! Was also brilliant to watch the wildlife in the field next to us with cows coming right up to then fence when we were watching to say hello. Would 100% stay again, it was brilliant!

This was the second time I stayed at Richard’s place with my dog and I enjoyed it just as much as the first. The place is super clean and the surroundings are beautiful and peaceful- love that the only neighbours are a bunch of sheep. :)
