Cabin vacation rentals in Big Trees

We had a vacation stay with another family and we both enjoyed Casey's place! It is nestled in the woods and the pine trees all around adds to its serenity feeling. The cabin was spacious, with wooden floor and generous offering of beds, sofas, tables and chairs. The second floor with the tipped ceiling even gave a vibe of the Swiss Chalet which we really loved. We were also offered the opportunity of relaxing in the hot tub which we ended up not using, but the patio itself is already a great bonus, suitable for a tranquil dinner or for just sitting around the fire pit in the evening. The check in/check out instruction was clear and easy to follow and Casey was really responsive to our needs and questions. We recommend this place 5 star!:)

Creating memories with adult children who are living their own lives can be hard to schedule. We found the perfect opportunity for a quick weekend getaway hosted by Leif. What we thought we were getting was a house big enough to host our group. What we got, was so much more! As soon as you walk into the space, you realize that the pictures you saw on the posting do not do justice to the real thing. You’re transported into another era where life slows down and you realize the simplest of things are the really important things: like family. My children especially enjoyed the opportunity to meet Leif’s animals and feed them rinds and banana peels. Peanut was the star of the show ( if you know, you know). Thank you, Leif, for a beautiful weekend that provided a much needed respite, but offered so much more than we were expecting. We can’t wait to come back and make this a family tradition though next time we will stay longer and be more prepared with our animal food supplies : )

We really enjoyed the cabin and it was great to have the hot tub. Sheila is a very responsive host and gave great recommendations. We would definitely return!

Our stay at Ponderosa Pines was wonderful! The cabin was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed, from a fully stocked kitchen to a relaxing hot tub. The location was perfect for exploring local attractions, and we loved the access to Twain Harte Lake. Overall, a fantastic retreat – we can’t wait to come back!

The house was great and I'd recommend it to people looking for a jumping off point for Yosemite. Super comfy beds, great deck, enjoyable hot tub, beautiful location. Lots to love and we had a great time. A note for potential guests: The community (the Pine Mountain Lake Association) that the house is located within is currently experiencing heavy road work from 4/30/25-7/2/25. We had to wait 20+ mins to get into the neighborhood each time we came back, which was annoying to say the least. Not the fault of the airbnb host, but just FYI on expectations.

The place is one of the best places Airbnb places we’ve got to stay and relax in. Comfortable and homey. Lots of fun games and music stuff We enjoyed the vinyl records ,hot tub and game room. It’s not too far off from some of the most spectacular views and trails. The hosts were very cool and we never had any issues that we needed to talk to them about. They were very accommodating and we would gladly stay here again.

We absolutely loved the place and can’t wait to rebook! House was super spacious and beautiful location! Lots for the kids to do while the adults had a separate space to unwind! Hosts were extremely responsive and provided all of the information we needed for an enjoyable stay!

This cabin was everything we could have hoped for! Huge hot tub on a wraparound deck that had a fence so our dog could be outside but not free on the property. Wood burning furnace inside was a favorite feature for my husband and I. Our dog loved laying in front of the fire. 10/10 would recommend 🙂

We had a beautiful stay at this serene getaway tucked in the woods, surrounded by peaceful forest views—exactly what we were looking for! The house was well-equipped with everything we needed, making it a perfect escape from the city. The host was incredibly communicative and responsive, which made our experience even smoother. If we had to mention anything that could have made it even better, a jacuzzi would’ve been a dreamy addition (just a personal favorite!), and an on-site trash disposal system would’ve saved a little time during checkout. That said, both these things were clearly mentioned ahead of time, so there were no surprises. All in all, a wonderful stay—we’d love to come back again !

Wow, this place is serene! It’s quiet and peaceful and exactly what we needed to get away from the huddle and bustle of life. The cabin was charming. The shower was great. The temperature was perfect. The beds were very comfortable. The Brita water pitcher in the fridge was a great touch. The fridge kept everything very cold. The summer camp vibe is there and the scenery is beautiful. We loved daily walks by the river. It was perfect for my dogs. And at night the stars were amazing! About 90 minutes from Yosemite. About 15 minutes from all the stores/grocery you could need. We’d visit again for sure. Thank you for hosting us!

We had an awesome experience staying at Stefan’s cabin. It was a peaceful and relaxing retreat for the weekend. We highly recommend this place for anyone looking for a quiet time away from the city.

Great cabin to stay at. Plenty of room and clean. The theater room is awesome! Great sound system and comfortable recliners. The pool table with the ping pong topper was a lot of fun. There are other cabins near bye, but plenty of space between them. Would definitely stay at the sweet retreat again!

Staying at The Hidden Dorr in Arnold was outstanding! Brandy was so kind and helpful in communicating anything we needed to know about the cabin and the surrounding area-truly wonderful host! The cabin!! We felt like we were in a treehouse! We were surrounded by tall, spectacular pines. We appreciated the spacious, yet cozy feel inside. The kitchen was the best appointed of any Airbnb we’ve ever stayed in. The bathroom showers had fun, modern fixtures. We loved the 3 sided deck. Meals were mostly eaten there…great steak dinner on the grill! Drive the short distance to Calaveras Big Tree State Park-a must see-awe inspiring! Murphys was an easy drive from the cabin, where great shopping and restaurants are plentiful. Just can’t say enough good things about our stay! Thank you, Brandy, for making this an incredible getaway!

Cozy cabin, felt right at home. My son loved having the top floor to himself. The downtown was adorable. You are still about 2 hours from Yosemite so plan for that but it’s a beautiful drive and worth it! The deck privacy and trees are amazing. If we are ever in the area again, I would be sure and come back.

We had a wonderful stay at Mike’s Airbnb! The house was beautifully decorated, making it feel warm and inviting. It was also well-stocked with amenities, ensuring a comfortable and convenient stay. A special touch was the farm-raised eggs and a bottle of apple cider that Mike kindly provided—such a thoughtful and generous gesture! We truly appreciated the hospitality and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a cozy and well-equipped stay. Thank you!

The cabin was just as we saw in the pictures and very spacious. Our host was really responsive whenever we needed things. There was ample space for the kids to run around and play with the provided games and kids toys. The location was just away from the main road and quiet at night. We would definitely come back and visit again.

Great place. clean and had everything you need for a family of 4. the wife loved it and the kids enjoyed the bunk beds. looking forward to coming back

The A-frame house was just what we needed for our family with 2 little ones plus elderly grandparents. There was plenty of space to all be together in and outside of the house, and the location of the house to the local attractions was perfect.

This place was amazing. The only complaint would be the shower. It runs fine however it is oddly built and the beam that extends into it offers discomfort to anyone above 5’4. My wife smacked her head on it unfortunately. Now besides that the place is perfect.

The house is very cozy and clean. It feels very private because the house is surrounded by many trees and there is some distance between the neighboring houses. The host is responsive and accommodating.

I loved the location and the wood stove! we really appreciated the early check-in time and late check-out time! one thing to know is that the king bed downstairs is actually two twin beds side by side (you can't cuddle without risking falling in). another thing to note is that they monitor the CO2 levels. we got a message from them when we were wearing steaks and had a fire in the wood stove at the same time.

We had an amazing time at the Swiss Chalet! It was our first time staying there and everything was great. Had 2 other families with us and there was plenty of room for everyone. Taylor was a great host and even called me before the trip to go over the details and to make sure we had everything we needed. Such a great touch! Big Trees State Park is a very quick drive from the cabin, very convenient. Would definitely stay there again!
