My wife and I were lucky enough to spend a week at Skylark Cabin and we could not imagine a better holiday. We had an amazing time. From the inspired architecture of the cabin istelf, to the thoughtful and luxurious fitout and furnishings - Garry & Liz have made this tranquil escape somewhere you will always remember and cherish. Spotlessly clean, well stocked, extremely comfortable, the best shower head in the Southern Hemisphere - the only thing I would change is the length of our stay, we'd still be there! Communication with Garry and Liz was fantastic - simply the best hosts. Skylark is something quite special - thankyou for a wonderful stay!

Absolutely stunning property in a great location as a base for Lake Pukaki/Mt Cook etc. we were very lucky to witness snowfall which made staying here such a magical experience. Property is exactly as pictured and described - super cosy with good heating during winter too.

This place is fantastic. The hits are wonderfully set out in private locations. They are clean and tidy, the bed is comfortable and the hot tub is highly recommended. We would definitely stay again of we were passing through Fairlie.

Fantastic place to stay! Located close to Lake Tekapo and lots of other beautiful locations. The house is in a dark sky area and without clouds would offer spectacular views of the night sky whilst enjoying the hot tub. We had everything we needed and would highly recommend this quirky house and had great fun exploring the area and playing the games in the upstairs room. Thank you so much 😊

David and Toni's place is a gem! David had the fire going in the hut and the tubs were already hot by the time we arrived. He quickly showed us how to add wood to the tubs, stir to circulate the water, and introduce cold water to regulate the temperature. Toni brought our breakfast by and then they left us to it. The outdoor baths were by far the highlight of the stay. It was also great to be able to have our dog Harvey with us! They have thought of many things to make the stay special. A nice bottle of sauv, chocolate, bath robes, and contintental breakfast was included. David gave great advice for the surrounding area and where would be a good place to go for a morning run. We really enjoyed our stay! Thanks for helping make Kotomi's birthday special! By far, one of the nicest places we have stayed and confirmation of what makes Air BnB special still today. This place is a must stay! The bath outside under the stars is incredible, the quiet peaceful location is just what you need for an escape. Robyn and Dan were excellent hosts, quick to respond, had lots of local recommendations, and they made us feel very welcome. The house was very clean, had every amenity we needed, the softest bathrobes, and the welcome champagne paired nicely with a bath under the stars. This stay was the start of our anniversary trip around New Zealand and it was the perfect start to our trip!

Kenny’s place is absolutely amazing! The cabin is surrounded by snowy mountains on three sides! The view is way better than all those tourist attractions we went to! It’s also very private and located away from the crowd and the hassle of cities. The fireplace was also so warm! The mattress was very soft and the cows and sheep we saw along the way were so polite and fun! Definitely recommend!!!!

This cabin was the perfect hidden getaway—peaceful, cozy, and surrounded by stunning mountain views. It truly felt like a retreat from the everyday. The space was well-equipped and thoughtfully designed, and it ended up being the highlight of our trip. The host was incredibly responsive and helpful, making sure everything was just right. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to relax and recharge. Highly recommended!

Christine’s place is amazingly beautiful. Made of huge wooden logs, which were pretty much hurricane proof. Really large upper master bedroom. Pristine bathroom with heated floors. Lots of ammenities in the kitchen, and cosy and warm when we walked inside, what more could you ask for…well actually we wish it snowed when we were there because I’m sure it would have looked amazing, but that’s not the owners fault 😂 There’s a four square grocery store not too far away and restaurants and many gorgeous lakes. Great location and away from the hustle and bustle of big towns. Highly recommended.

We had a wonderful stay! The place was nice and cozy, conveniently located near restaurants (within 2km), and the internet was great. It truly had everything we needed. We will definitely stay here again if we visit Twizel in the future!

We had a great stay in Andrew's cabin earlier this month (June 2025). Andrew was a great communicator. Quick, easy and clear instructions. The cabin is very cozy and was perfect for our family of 4. The location is a nice balance between rural, but still quick access to Twizel (15min drive). Bathroom and kitchen were very clean. Washer and dryer were a must after hiking through the snow of Lake Tekapo. Unfortunately we had a lot of cloud cover and almost a full moon during our stay so could not see a lot of stars at night. But it was still a cool backdrop with the moon illuminating everything. We have had wood burning furnaces before, they are always fun and this one did not disappoint. I learned apparently I am addicted to chopping wood! Overall, we had a great stay. We highly recommend Andrew's cabin and would definitely stay here again.

We had such a wonderful stay at Kenny’s place! The home was spotless, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The large bathtub was a real treat after a day spent exploring the area, and the nearby walking tracks made it easy to soak up the incredible scenery. Speaking of which — the views were absolutely spectacular and truly made the stay unforgettable. Kenny was a fantastic host: friendly, responsive, and made everything smooth from check-in to check-out. We felt right at home and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to unwind and enjoy the natural beauty of the area. It’s definitely a bucket list accommodation.
