Nature eco lodge vacation rentals in Bastimentos Island

Ataraxia is pure magic and exceeded our expectations in every way. We rented out the whole lodge to host a yoga retreat with 12 of us total. Communication from Pierre and Manon was fantastic throughout and they took really good care of us — ready to help order us boat taxis, recommend us things to do, or answer any question at any time. The rooms and cabins were spacious, cozy and kept really clean. We had use of kayaking and snorkel gear as well, which everyone loved. At the top of the hill, the yoga shala overlooked the sea and was a wonderful place to practice and teach in. We were even able to spot a sloth and her baby a few times. Perhaps our favourite thing, though, was the food. We had 6 vegan lunches and dinners and we were sooo impressed by the variety of meals and how delicious every dish was. Being able to order a glass of wine with dinner was a nice touch, too. We loved our whole stay. We’ll be back!!

Welcome to the paradise! A small and calm resort at the far end of Bastimentos, perfectly suited to relax, disconnect (no WiFi or mobile network) and enjoy Carribean flair and nature. But beware: you'll stay in nature (open-air bungalow) and as it's really small will spend significant amount of time with the other guests, incl. the delicious meals around the large dining table. As your welcoming host Michele already states this in the description and his communication after booking, we weren't surprised - and loved it! If you don't like nature, are addicted to your social media, or don't want to socialize with other guests - better don't come ;) Seeing the price for few nights, we gasped at first. But let alone the included tasty meals and great service is worth an significant amount. Taking into account how costly it must have been to build, maintain and supply this small paradise at the remote location, it's absolutley worth it!

Absolutely AMAZING!! Can't wait to go back. The hosts, Brian and Amy, couldn't be kinder, more helpful or more hospitable!! The food was amazing and they were flexible with dietary issues that people had. We feel like we have new friends in a different part of the world. The place itself is nothing short of paradise!

Great stay. Be sure to provide bug spray. Important for internet addicts. There is no internet in the rooms. But you don't need the view. Great beaches and great food with nice hosts.

The small-scale accommodation was very special. Wonderful beds, beautiful view from the spacious balcony. Breakfast and dinner were delicious!! Plenty to do in the area that Manon definitely wants to help you with. It was nice to sail the canoe in the mangrove. Manon, thank you for your hospitality!

This place is very special. Brian and Amy made us feel at home right away. The location of the accommodation ist very beautiful surrounded by jungle and right by the water. We saw many dolphins in the bay and had a great snorkeling trip and hiked through the jungle. The food is absolutely incredible. The place was always clean and the hosts try their best to make your stay a once in a lifetime experience. This was the best place I ever stayed at and would recommend it to everyone. Thank you for everything, Brian and Amy.

Carolina and her place were wonderful! She's very helpful and responsive and the room is quite comfortable. The food, at the restaurant below the guest rooms, serves amazing food! It can be a bit noisy if you wake up later than 8am or go to bed earlier than 10pm, though. The view is amazing and because it's right off the main road, it's convenient to get a taxi into town. You will need to walk/ride/drive a bit to get to an accessible beach, but it's safe and not too far from the property. Highly recommended for shorter stays.

Fantastic location above a restaurant with really good food. Close enough to town to get there quickly in a taxi. Carolina had helpful recommendations and was easy to contact.

Fantastic place!

We had a great time at the Lodge. Daniel and Brian gave us a warm welcome and looked after us very well! A highlight was definitely the dinner cooked by Daniel, which tasted fantastic and where we also got to know other guests. Those were very nice evenings. We would definitely come back!

It was absolutely amazing stay at Bastimentos Island with Daniel and Brian! Great hosts, delicious breakfast, fabulous 3 course dinner setting, quiet place and so much fun hanging out with the hosts!

This stay was fantastic! The hotel itself is beautiful from the hotel itself to the pool to its surroundings. Everything was all quite comfortable, and that is because of the hosts. Daniel was helpful and friendly, and made excellent suggestions for things to do nearby. The food was also delicious, and it was great to have breakfast up on a hill in the jungle and have the option to have dinner there as well. The surrounding areas were great too. There are lots of spots nearby to take a water taxi to for beach time or a good meal or a drink.

Loved my stay at the maronda! Gabi was dear, friendly, friendly, she was always available to help us and advise us, the kitchen was always available and clean, the beach in front was wonderful, in the morning we were going to give fruit to the horses, the dogs are very friendly, only good things! The property is quite quiet and remote but it is possible to have anything from the city if we talk to Gabi she finds a way for us to receive what we need as we can always call a taxi. On the beach in front, in the morning, when the tide was lower, it was a kind of lake that was great for the kids. I really enjoyed it!

beautiful and quiet place, desertic and paradisiacal beach, large and wild waves, pure connection with nature, nice beach club in front of itself for lunch and drinks, a little far from the center but if you want a good disconnection this is the place! the attention of Kristian excellent

The stay at MarOnda was very good. You're surrounded by nature and you have Bluff Beach in front, with the inn right there. We really enjoyed our days there. Something to consider is that it is quite far from Bocas Town. It's about 40 minutes by taxi and costs 20/25 USD. For those who want to be on the beach and surrounded by nature, it's not a problem, but if you intend to go on excursions, you should be closer to the center.

The location is perfect. Red frog beach is amazing. Sometimes it took a while for the host to react on our message before arriving. The staff at the location was very friendly and helpfull. They took good care of us. We just didn’t wanna leave.
