Monthly Rentals in Barwon Downs

The Nook is a nice place if you want to get away from the madding crowd. We didn’t see a single soul (but lots of cows, sheep and geese) during our 3-day stay. We used it as a base to explore Kenneth River, Otway, 12 Apostles on the coast and as far west as The Grotto. Which on hindsight, was not such a great idea as it involved long hours of driving back and forth. Unfortunately, nearer attractions such as Heroes Vineyard were closed for winter. The cottage itself is spacious, suitable for big family gatherings. Downside was that it gets quite cold after sundown. Even with a roaring fire in the fireplace, the living room never quite warmed up, much less the rest of the big house. Fortunately, there was electric blanket provided in beds. The kitchen amenities were well stocked. And the complimentary sourdough bread, milk and coffee powder were a welcome sight. Thank you, Courtney.

A very last minute booking (midnight the night before!) but exactly what we needed to give our brains a break. The house and surrounds are beautiful and our hosts were very responsive (confirmed by 7:30am the morning after we booked) and so helpful with requests for information about local dog walks and activities. Thank you. We will be back.

Lovely home in the bush. The fire kept the whole place warm during a very rainy weekend! A great location near the local pub and cafes - would recommend for anyone headed down that way.

We got married at the little church ♥️💒 It was a dream. Myself and my husband eloped and everything was perfect. Joanne helped with recommendations and was always quick to reply and so accomodating. Even left us some gifts for getting married. It was the most special, romantic and dreamy location between the grounds, the fire, the bath, the history, the energy and the oakary across the road. It was honestly the most beautiful place in the world to marry the love of my life. We will come back on our anniversary. A special place in our heart the little church has forever.
