Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Barry County

We booked this for a family trip to see some relatives in the area. There was 4 adults and 2 kids. there was plenty of space for us. The house was beautiful and the outdoors was great. the house you could tell was well loved and had everything we could want.

We had a wonderful time at this location! The home was comfy and full of things to do and relax with. We enjoyed nearby sights and when we had a small hiccup Josh was quick to respond. We would love to come back sometime!

A wonderful lake house for my family. The house has everything you need. The kitchen was very well stocked for cooking and there's lots of fun stuff for playing on the lake. Very comfortable inside and out. We had a great time!

This place was perfect for a long weekend away for our out if state family. The Lake was a bit different than the pictures, but the water level is low and no way for the owner to control that. Several neighbors offered our boys the ability to fish from their docks. This was so kind and the kids appreciated it (and caught many fish). We would recommend this place for sure!

We loved waking up to the birds and the beautiful lake views. The house had everything we needed. We slept so well each night. Meredith was an amazing host. We would definitely stay again when we are visiting family in West Michigan.

Our stay at the cottage was eventful as we had tornadoes close by on the Thursday night of our weeklong stay. We lost power and I texted with Justin with immediate response. He continued to text me to provide updates and we worked together to make our continued stay as safe and comfortable through the lengthy outage. The cottage was clean, very well maintained and stocked of kitchen tools and household items. We had everything we needed to help prepare food for our nephew’s grad party. We will definitely recommend this to any family staying at Gun Lake. It’s a great cottage. Try Russo’s for dinner when you stay. The food is delicious AND they have gluten free options!

Beautiful location and lovely home. We had everything we needed to be comfortable and enjoy the beautiful lake. Some bad storms came through during our stay and we lost power. Tracy was an excellent and responsive host and worked with us through managing the situation, including ensuring we got the proper refund for the days we lost due to having to leave early. Would definitely stay again.

This place was super cute! Loved that it was fenced in, so I could let my two pups run around and splash in the water. Dan was super friendly and responsive, no crazy cleaning checkout list. The beds were comfy, there were water bowls and toys for the dogs, the kitchen was well equipped. The place as very clean and was just as pictured! My only notes were: the chairs for the kitchen table were too low in comparison to the table. If I wanted to work, my arms were comically raised to try and type. A barstool might be helpful? But the wifi was fast, which I needed for Zoom calls.

Aaron’s place was very clean! Perfect for what we needed! It seems to be a quiet neighborhood and if came back through I would definitely stay at Aaron’s again

Was in Kalamazoo for a conference at Western -- great spot to stay! Better price than the Radisson and way nicer space. Walkable to the train station and maybe 45 minute walk to Western's campus. Clean and tidy and close to everything!

Kaydee’s place is a great stay! The main thing I noticed was how clean everything was. The bed was super comfy and we had all the amenities we needed. The neighborhood is really gorgeous and downtown is easily walkable. Kaydee was very welcoming and hospitable, I can’t recommend enough.

Another memorable, intimate, and sacred experience and rendezvous with my Husband. We returned for Week 7 of Our Imago Therapy Couples Session. From enjoyable cooked meals in the kitchen of our rental, to centering on the back deck, watching movies, and quality time simply BEing. The stay was quite enjoyable! The apartment was clean, cozy, and cute. It was comfortable, and we had plenty of amenities. It’s in a beautiful neighborhood that’s very walkable to great restaurants and cool shops.

Very nice and clean. I felt right at home. Next time I plan on staying a lot longer. Beds were comfortable, house is so quiet and super cute. I highly recommend staying here.

Stephanie and Chads place has made what has been a wonderful trip, all the better. A perfect apartment in an idilic setting with wonderful hosts. If we get a chance to come this way again, I'd hope to stay with them again. Stephanie was wonderful, from the 1st point of contact. she was soo helpful, she recommended a route from O'Hare airport in Chicago, to her place in Kalamazoo, which put us at ease. the Apartment had all that we needed. it was warm and comfortable at all times as we had weather was 20c and sunny to -3c and snowing. hot water as you needed and in a setting that was stunning on the outskirts of Kalamazoo but 5 mins from where we needed to be each day. We had a garage for our car. washer and dryer for our clothes two bedrooms with double beds and a large living space and kitchenette they had all we needed for it to feel like a home away from home.

My family, including our two pugs, had a wonderful stay. The condo was pristinely clean and very tastefully decorated with all amenities as described. The info Mindy provided was extremely helpful and thoughtful. I had to text her at 6am regarding an issue, and she responded almost immediately. There is on-site parking, and the neighborhood was quiet and felt safe. There is no fenced yard, so pups have to be walked on a leash, but there is plenty of grass for them to do their business. The only thing I want to mention is that the condo is on a very busy road, so there is a lot of road noise. It didn’t bother us at all however, and we had 2 great nights of sleep. I very highly recommend this property if you are looking for a great stay in the Grand Rapids area.

The condo was very nice. Decorated with “up to date” color scheme. Beds were very comfortable. Dining area inviting. Living / relaxing area comfortable, possibly could replace one of the standard straight chairs with a recliner for more option to relax. The selection of coffee pods for the Kurig was wonderful, might consider adding a non flavored coffee pod as well as a decaffeinated pod to the selection. We were surprised no toaster available but compromised by making toast using the broiler. Over all, our experience was very, very nice.

This was the perfect place for us and our out of town guests to stay for our wedding. It was spacious and clean. It had fun amenities. It was walkable to all of the bars and restaurants. Just be careful of the spiral staircase if you do go to the bars!

This place is so unique! Well decorated and comfortable for our group of four people. If you’re a light sleeper I would bring ear plugs for the master bedroom. It’s over the kitchen of the restaurant downstairs and gets loud when they come in to prep at like 6am. We were thankful for great light blocking curtains and ample bedding/extra blankets. Some Airbnb’s skimp on these things but not this one.

I traveled to Michigan with my sister for a family reunion, so I wanted a place with two separate bedrooms. Boz's place was a great choice. It is one unit in a community of four-unit apartment buildings. It was probably built in the 1970s, but it has been fixed up well. Everything was squeaky clean. I walked around in new white socks and had no worries about getting them dirty. Boz included some nice details, including fluffy towels and a big new bar of soap. The shower is mounted up high, which I appreciate because I'm tall. The unit has its own 40-gallon water heater. There was a bowl with packaged snacks like granola bars, which was helpful in the morning to hold me over before I left for breakfast. The location is three minutes (by car) from an Aldi grocery store, but I never used it on this trip. I ate breakfast every day at Roxie's which is a great place that's only about four minutes away. I will be happy to stay here again next time I visit Kalamazoo.

Very nice apartment that is close to downtown. A couple of chairs on the balcony would be nice now that the weather is warming up!
