The Clonmellon Lodge is an 18th c. gothic mini castle recently restored, newly refurbished bathrooms and kitchen, all in one floor, with easy access to the grounds of Killua Castle. We had the most amazing two nights at Lough Aisling with my family, incl two small boys. The location is unbelievable - quiet, peaceful, lots of green space for the boys, private road for the boys bikes and kilometres of perfectly maintained lakeside and bogside pathways for wandering/ runs! The chalet had a beautiful lake at the front with swans and ducks passing by, and another at the back full of waterlillies. Joseph and Geraldine were perfect hosts - friendly, accommodating and responsive - offering guided walks of the Lough Aisling trails! This place is a perfect escape from the city - surrounded by water and countryside! We will be back!

Paula was very friendly and helpful, we had our two dogs on their first trip and it was ideal. Large garden to run around and the walks along the canal were fabulous. Paula left us bread, milk and cereal which was very convenient. There was music upstairs in the bar which was busy but not too noisy.
