Vacation rentals with a hot tub in Bahía Ballena

This place was perfect for our family of 4. It was spacious and the outdoor living space was beautiful. Two pools in the complex were perfect for our kids and the neighbours were all welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Very well-located and secure accommodation. The hosts are very responsive and adorable. The bungalow is minimalist but there is everything you need. There is no air conditioning in one of the bedrooms. The bathroom is en-suite to the double bed room. Check-in to the unit is easy. We had a lovely stay at Désirée's.

Amazing! We’ve done this trip in various locations across costa rica and Brian’s place was by far the best, especially for larger groups. The dreamy outdoor kitchen had all the best appliances and tools you could ever need. The pool and lounge area felt like what you would experience at a high end resort. The music hookup and lighting at night was perfect for relaxing and breathtaking sunsets and nighttime conversations. Some of us could even get in a morning workout given the great gym area available and would end it with a cold plunge. I literally can’t think of anything else we could ever need! Beyond being an absolute paradise, Brian went above and beyond to welcome us and ensure we were comfortable. It’s rare these days that the host is as invested in their guests’ experience as Brian, and it’s clear that he really wants his guests to feel at home and welcome. He always promptly answered any questions and was eager to help and give recommendations. Can’t wait to come back!

A beautiful home and setting, with breathtaking views. The entire house is clean and tidy, ample parking and group sharing space. We would come back without hesitation.

Two words “ absolutely breathtaking”! I think that pretty much sums up this place. The Host and his team were all super helpful. The property is located on top of a Mountain with INCREDIBLE views. You get a full on view of the tail once the tide recedes. The place was extremely modern and clean. I absolutely loved every piece of decor throughout the villa. I would recommend this place over and over again, to everybody. One thing I would recommend, is that you take the hosts’ advice and stop at the Supermarket at the foot of the mountain before going up. It’s a good 20mins just to get back down for some water😂

This home is incredible. It is absolutely worth the trip. We were looking for something in mid or southern pacific coast, ultimately decided on uvita for a less touristy vibe but still close to lots of activities. It was the right choice. The home is beautiful and so inviting. Licho and his wife are incredible hosts. We had them cook almost every meal. Everything was delicious! It was very appreciated because we were so tired at the end of each day! There is a waterfall 5 minutes away with great jumping platforms. There are delicious restaurants near by, and the beach was about 7 minute drive. There was tons of wildfire in the backyard, with plenty of visits from monkeys. We hooked everything through Licho including our tours, rental car, and ride to and from SJO. You can do great excursions from town which is a 5 minute drive. If we’re ever back in Costa Rica we would absolutely stay here again!

I booked this listing for a group of 8 women. We all needed time to get away from our busy lives in the U.S. The six nights at La Sombra were peaceful and inspiring! What a beautiful location and beautiful grounds. We were all stunned by the property, in a good way:) It was even better than the beautiful pictures provided. Each villa was appointed beautifully with quality linens, towels, robes, bath soaps, dishes, etc. We especially enjoyed the patio views and the design of the structures that incorporate natural light and the surrounding nature. We ate dinner each night on the patio of the main house, and found a spot for morning meditations on the bridge. Catherine and Ryan were available and responsive before, during and after our visit. And, I cannot say enough about the local cook, Marta. We all wanted to take her home with us! What a treat:) Thank you for sharing your home with us, Catherine and Ryan!

Hillary and Johnny were amazing hosts. Very responsive and attentive to our needs. Always easy to reach and quick to respond. Helped to curate and make this one of our most memorable trips. The property is absolutely amazing. The views are stunning. The drive up the road and the driveway into the home is not for the weak at heart, but it is well worth the effort. My husband and I have stayed in Costa Rica multiple times and this is one of our favorite locations. Road was in much better condition than many of the other roads we have traveled in the past.Hillary helped arrange groceries to be delivered to the Villa prior to our arrival as well as directed us for local private chefs, and private in Villa massages. They were readily available for any needs that arose while we were there. It should be doubted that there are only curtains in one bedroom however that was not a drawback for us. Place is wonderful. Gorgeous unobstructed views you first notice as you ride up, then experience from every room in the house, patio, pool and hot tub. There are occasional power outages. Power loss affects water flow. You should report a lasting outage or the electric company may not know about it. To report you'll need the property NISE number from the property mgr or host and call ICE - institute for costa rican electricity is my best guess rn. Power outages are a part of life in the area and nothing specific to the property. The stars during new moon from the pool were magical. The place is very well laid out, well located and has everything you could possibly want. I would not hesitate to book again.

I cannot say enough about the beauty of this location. The view is unbelievable. The house is so well sited to take advantage of the view. The porch is gorgeous and soaking tub is lovely. The house is glass on two sides to take full advantage of the view but also completely private. Modern decor with a serene and peaceful vibe. Isaac responded immediately to our questions when we arrived. Great weekend getaway. We will definitely stay here again!

Excellent place, quiet, clean, very nice and excellent service

This place is Such a hidden Gem. The view from the jacuzzi on our own private balcony was just incredible. We even had a toucan land in the tree right above us while we were in the jacuzzi. Our host also made us a traditional Costa Rican breakfast which was delicious.

Guillermo was a great host. He met us at the gate and was very welcoming. His place is a fun quirky little place and his pride of ownership shows. The kitchen was well stocked and the La Hermosa town square, with a consistently good little restaurant La Cuchara de Lao, was a short walk away.

Amazing location, super helpful on site host who responded immediately and helped us with some tricky logistical issues. We didn’t have a car and getting there was a bit tricky. Also the stairs to the bedroom are steep. Someone who is less sure of their balance may be challenged. Overall this place provides everything we needed and couldn’t have been more conveniently located if beach time in one of the most beautiful places in the world is your priority.

Definitely a gem! I love San Luis and this is a great place to stay. The cabin is super cute and the property is gorgeous. I loved the rainbow eucalyptus trees right outside the cabin. The amenities were very nice, super relaxing - especially the infrared sauna and the yoga area, which both have a view of the distant waterfall. I especially enjoyed doing yoga while watching toucans fly from tree to tree in front of me :)
