Just had an incredible weekend break at Jenny's gorgeous accommodation. I have seen other reviews saying that the photos and description doesn't do this place justice and I totally agree. The lodge had everything we needed, was perfectly clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. The views from the balcony are breathtaking!! The location is so picturesque, peaceful and clean and extremely close to Keswick. We took full advantage of the gym, swimming pool, sauna and hot tub, which was a brilliant way to start/finish the day. Also highly recommend the White Horse pub, where I have eaten the best chicken burger ever! Jenny, thank you for the kind and thoughtful treats. We highly recommend your place to anyone!! xxx

We booked this accom very last minute(3hrs before we checked in), and turned out to be a great choice. Having never heard of Whitbarrow Village we did not know what to expect and was very pleased to find this apartment was part of a larger holiday village complex. The apartment was very well kitted out and had all mod cons you would want, some cleaning products and tea/coffee bits,plus a nice outdoor seating area and close access to the pool and games areas. The main reception building was very clean and the pool facilities were fantastic as well as the kids games area & cinema room (9yr old with us). Only a 15 min drive to Keswick or Penrith made it a great location just off the A66 but so peaceful & quiet. Friendly on-site staff and well maintained garden areas. Overall a great little find and will definetly stay at Whitbarrow Village again.

Jay's Nest it's a great place to stay. Friendly hosts, convenient location, close to the centre of the village and many beautiful walks on the doorstep. Perfect base for those who wish to explore Lake District. The flat has home from home feel. The kitchen has all essentials and no need to wash up, dishwasher does it for you. Clean, working washing machine with dryer if needed. The seating area very cosy with nice views through windows, you can relax after a long day walking. Big bedroom with comfortable bed and plenty of space for storing your gear/clothes etc. Again, super clean, couldn't ask for more. Fair size spotless ensuite with good size shower. Plenty of space to keep what you need in the bathroom. Sadly, due to the weather, we were not able to use the outside area where having a morning coffee or evening drink must be super enjoyable. It was our first time in LD and we will be back to Jay's Nest, that's for sure. Needless to say, we highly recommend Jay's Nest!

We met Joy outside the building after arriving earlier than anticipated! She was so helpful with checking in and organising our room. The room was perfect, everything you need for a stay in Glasgow! Comfortable, great bathroom! Would 100% stay again!

We had a fantastic stay at Nicholas’s beautiful home. He was a friendly, responsive host and pre empted all our questions with clear instructions. Would highly recommend!

The flat was super spacious and clean. Free parking with secure entrance and secondary (en-suite) bathroom were bonus! Easy to get to old town by public transport or taxi. We can definitely consider for a second stay.

We went for a short break and it was lovely! The house was perfect for chilling out after a long day. Kitchen had a lot of things we needed and plenty of things to do even in the home! Perfect location, both towns either side of us with lots of options to eat and all within walking distance too. We were so glad we were able to stay here and hoping to be back soon! Martin was a great host! We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of Prosecco and a box of delicious cookies upon our arrival! Martin graciously granted us a late checkout, too, which helped a lot with our schedule. The location of the flat was perfect for us. I would highly recommend this host and this flat to others!

We had a wonderful stay at Callum’s place. It was clean, conveniently located and had pretty much everything we needed. Callum even provided a few snacks and drinks for us upon our arrival. It was the perfect home away from home for our 6 week stay in Scotland and we will certainly be staying with Callum again when we’re back on the area. 10/10 stay and host. Excellent location. Beautiful garden. Bathroom nice. Bedroom lovely. I would stay here again in a sec. The sofa bed was comfortable, the kitchen was stocked with necessities. Grocery store close by.

Such a lovely apartment. We cannot wait to return. The Pilates/Yoga room was a lovely addition. The only things missing were waste paper bins in the living room and bedrooms. A washer/dryer would be a welcome extra, especially after a hike or downpour. Stylish and superb.

We were impressed by how well-appointed the kitchen was — we were able to cook breakfast and dinner with no problems. Host communication was top-notch. Always really responsive and friendly. They let us check in a bit early as our train got in an hour before check-in. The location was good, easy walking distance to shops and to Bowness, far enough from the main road to be quiet. Overall we were pleased with our stay.

Portnellan estate is just beautiful and peaceful, in a great location at the bottom of Ben More with lovely views. Cameron has thought of everything giving visitors access to a games room, kayaks and a small visitor centre with maps, books, ice cream and a freezer with meats etc. there’s even a shed with bbq’s that can be taken to your lodge. The lodge itself was so comfortable with everything you need to include towelling robes and slippers. We had a great day kayaking on the loch opposite the estate surrounded by fabulous scenery. We will definitely be returning.

Claire’s place was exactly what it looks like in the pictures. It is her home, so it is not clinical and soulless; it is homely and welcoming. It was spotlessly clean. Entry instructions were super clear. Claire was extremely helpful with bus/train details to get in and out of the city. There are tonnes of restaurants and coffee shops along Portobello High Street and also down onto the promenade. Being so close to the beach was an absolute joy - and The Beach House about a 10minute walk away did a terrific breakfast and lunch. Would totally recommend Portobello as a location and Claire’s place offered everything we needed.

I have stayed in George’s unit before, which is why I rebooked it for my recent trip. Everything was just perfect, and best of all it is walking distance to my daughter and son-in-laws home! George is super responsive and was attentive to my unique needs … I arrived with a broken wrist and was required to ice it several times a day, and upon my arrival George had two big bars of ice ready for me in the freezer! Now that’s accommodating! Wonderful visit. Can’t say enough good things. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Recently visited Pleasant Hill for Hen Weekend. We had previously been let down by another house and Chris was extremely helpful and reassuring. 17 of us stayed for the weekend and the house was perfect for what we needed it for. Chris was in constant contact with me, gave plenty of recommendations for local amenities and attractions and was flexible on check in and check out times. For such a large party, buying food was a concern of mines but he suggested we do an online shop beforehand and offered to collect it and put it away for us before we arrived. This really was a massive help and greatly appreciated, it was one less worry and concern I had in the run up to the weekend. Our bride and all guests had a fantastic weekend. Thank you!

We loved the house and Drymen. The added bonus of the use of the pool, sauna and jacuzzi was brilliant. The house was comfortable and homely. Drymen was a lovely little village with lovely pubs, cafes and walks. Along the road there was a beautiful view out over Loch Lomond. I would really recommend. Jim was super helpful and let us in a little bit early, thank you so much.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, Douglas is an attentive host who was available when needed. The bungalow was equipped with everything we needed for cooking and resting which was much appreciated as our stay was over Christmas! Douglas very kindly gifted some wine and chocolates and he was there for our arrival to show us around the house, giving some useful information on nearby shops, places to eat and things to do. We were unfortunate with the weather; however, the bungalow was very cosy and thoughtfully decorated for Christmas and time spent inside looking out at the fabulous views made up for it!
