Lake house vacation rentals in Austria

Constanze's spacious lakeside home was a gem of a find! An idyllic location; gardens leading down to the jetty & lake ; amazing views across to mountains; excellent scenic walks to either end of the lake; train station 5 minutes walk away with regular, reliable service to Salzburg & elsewhere. We made the best use of this beautiful house & location & the wood burning stove was very much appreciated on the cooler evenings! Constanze was a great host, was there to meet & greet us & with excellent communication via phone too & we have no hesitation in recommending her lovely home.

We were very happy with the choice. A great appartment close to a small shop with access to numerous walking/running trails. Zell am See only a short drive away, has numerous quality restaurants. Access to lake for swimming and boat hire within a short walk.

We had a great 4-day stay as a family of five in the "Haus am See". The house was very nice and exactly what we expected based on the description. It is very well-equipped and you will find everything you need. Communication with Benedikt was straightforward and friendly. We felt completely comfortable and would be happy to come back! Arrived and felt right at home! The house is superbly divided and the rooms are functionally furnished. Heidi replaced a mattress that was no longer good within a day. It's great that we were allowed to use everything. We almost inflated the bike. Because there is only one bathroom and toilet on the first floor, you could often hear the stairs creaking loudly at night. For us house dust allergy sufferers, the many carpets, upholstery and pillows are not optimal, next time we will take medication, because we would very much like to come back. Many thanks also for the very friendly welcome and great hospitality!

We had a wonderful week. The lakeside location, simply fantastic. Claudia is very friendly and was always available to us, even special requests were fulfilled. If you are looking for peace and relaxation, you've come to the right place :-)

I stayed with my two children for one night and we enjoyed the 2 days. It is easily accessible by public transport, as there is a direct bus from Vienna to Rauchwart. Then it's a 15-minute walk. Everything was super described, check-in is easy via a key safe. The apartment is clean, very tasteful and practically furnished. And the extra equipment you can use, like paddle board, bike is great. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. We had a great time and would be happy to come back.

A really great family getaway. The extremely spacious house is in an absolute premium location directly on Lake Mattsee. What a view. It's got everything you need. 2 bathrooms, kitchen with upscale amenities, pizza oven (Oh yeah! A real professional part!), BBQ in XXL format, sauna, fireplace, it's all there. Meganette, friendly and accommodating landlords. We'd love to come back anytime!! GREAT!!!

We had a wonderful time in the former hunting lodge. It is located in the middle of the idyllic nature of a mountain valley, within walking distance of a clear swimming lake and directly on a flower meadow and on the edge of the forest. The terrace offers sun from morning to evening and is ideal to start the day with a nice breakfast in nature, or to end the evening at sunset. From the house you can take many hikes - to various peaks or along the valley and to the Wörschachklamm. The house itself offers plenty of space for 6-8 adults, is dry, clean and cozy. The host is friendly, helpful and always responds very quickly. So if you are looking for accommodation for a hiking vacation in the middle of nature, this is the perfect place to be 😊

The house was as described and in a wonderful location to see the area. Conveniently located near the ferry terminal, bus stop, and train stop. The lake was perfect for swimming and the views of the lake were stunning. Hiking was also accessable from the BnB doorstep. Markus was very accommodating and helpful. He provided recommendations for us and was attentive to our needs. We would absolutely like to stay here again!

Vesselin, Kiril and Mihaela were very nice, discreet but always available hosts! The apartment with its own entrance and garden was very nice and pleasantly quiet! We felt very comfortable and can highly recommend the accommodation! Thank you 🫶

Delightful accommodation that exceeded our expectations, Vanessa was very accommodating and always helped with everything right away. Perfect mountain views, all perfectly prepared. The house was very cold at first, but after contacting the host, who responded immediately and adjusted the temperature was perfect. Thank you. ❤️

Great place with a magnificent terrace and lake access

We booked the accommodation for a meeting with friends. Wonderful to sit in the garden in the morning for a coffee or after a day in Vienna. There was plenty of room. Thank you so much to Macy and her mom.

amazing location for families a playground in walking distance and a larger "Motorikpark" right around the corner with plenty of shopping immediately around. host was extremely responsive even though we decided to stay last minute, can't recommend them enough!

The house is wonderfully quiet and was exactly what we were hoping for – if not more! Especially the direct lake access with the SUPs was a real highlight. The house itself is spacious, very clean and cozy – you immediately feel at home. Norbert was a great host: helpful, friendly and always responded quickly. Clear recommendation – we will be happy to come back! 😊

Patricia was very helpful and kind! There were 5 of us and we had a great time, the house is 70s style but has everything you need, the outside is a large garden with a ping pong table, swing and lounger, there is also a porch where you can eat outside! Everything was clean and tidy, the only thing was the bathroom was a little uncomfortable as the bathtub was very small and therefore uncomfortable, but otherwise everything was perfect! There was also a dishwasher and a washing machine! Really everything you needed to feel at home

The house is located in a village/campsite just a short walk from Lake Pressegger. Inside, in addition to the pool, there is a children's play area and a restaurant that also prepares great takeaway food. With an app you can order baked goods such as bread, brioches, etc... and find them in the morning in a common room. Access to a nearby spa is also included, and a card with which you can do many free activities, especially with kids/kids. The house was perfect for us (6 people) with a kitchen complete with everything and a nice porch where you can eat outdoors. Lake Pressegger is beautiful and very relaxing with a very well-equipped public beach. You can reach Villach in just over half anhour. We had a nice vacation, but to fully enjoy the place you have to stay much longer than the three days we were able to do!

We enjoyed our stay very much! The accommodation was fantastic - very clean and spacious overlooking the lake. You can do a lot in the area and we really enjoyed the vacation! Communication and check-in were very straightforward and well described in advance. We will be happy to come back!

Even though the place is small, everything is there and well packed. There are a lot of walking paths, ski gondola is only 15 minutes away... I can recommend it.

The place was just great!!! The kids made huge eyes when the first train came in and the event was often celebrated. There was a lot to discover in the garden and the children spent a lot of tent there. Veronika was a great host. We had a great time there and would be happy to come back.

A whole house for us. Great location, very quiet, right in the countryside right on the Danube. The host Bernhard and his wife were always available and took care of us with affection, even when we could not get out due to the weather, they offered us games, brought us fresh apple strudel, jam, etc. We were very cared for and felt very comfortable. The house beautifully spills with nature and has a very special charm.. We will be happy to come back!!

Amazing little retro cottage on the water. Very cozy and has everything one would need. The bathroom is lovely and shower is powerful. The surrounding area is super peaceful and people are friendly. The plants are amazing! Some spots around the house need a bit of restoration tho, other than that it's amazing!
