Surrounded by pastures, it's a short walk to the Mad River for swims and walks. The Mad River Brewery is less than a mile up the road. Excellent mountain biking is 1 mile away. In a 15 minute drive you can find the hip town of Arcata, surrounded by redwoods and hiking as well as a majestic coastline. Sundays 10 am to noon we host a family friendly ecstatic dance in the studio adjacent to the apartment. Expect music at that time. Come join us! Public Yoga classes are Tuesday & Saturday am.

“Bungalow by the Bay” a little home away from home. Our 900sq/ft house is nestled in a small community on Humboldt Bay called Manila, between Eureka and Arcata. The area provides access to many activities; beaches, redwoods, and charming towns. Just a few blocks away is Samoa Beach and the Manila Sand dunes or head north to Moonstone Beach. To hike the redwoods, head to Sequoia Park or Redwood Park, both within 15 mins of the house. Also visit the charming towns of Trinidad and Ferndale.

Modern, light & airy one bedroom apartment, upstairs with the trees and sun. High ceilings, hardwood floors, quartz counter tops and a bar that seats four. Cal King size bed and a rollaway twin in the closet. You will feel like you're in your own private world. It's a pretty special place. And, for me, B & B stands for bed & breakfast. So I make sure you have something to eat in the morning. I can be flexible with check in and check out, if I don't have guests back to back. :-)

This was a lovely loft secluded in a corner of this eastern Arcata neighborhood. The loft entry steps overlook a big meadow with solar panels and local renowned cheese making factory. The plants and flowers were extraordinary, and the adorable doggo in the back yard was happy to have some pets over the fence. The bed was very comfortable and the kitchen was above and beyond most AirBnBs with available small appliances and kitchen items. I enjoyed easy, flat walks to downtown to favorite breakfast and dinner spots. I had some issues with Wifi speed when first arriving and Katherine sent a friendly family member over to check into the issue since she was out of town during my stay. I will look for this location on future Arcata trips.

My friend and I stayed for 3 nights and it was perfect location for Prairie Creek and Humboldt redwoods and with plenty of eateries in town. Also found Wildberries supermarket which was fabulous. We found the apartment to be comfortable and just had what you need when being out all day. May be a challenge if you want to cook proper meals but we didn’t as we’re on holiday. But having a microwave and kettle was great. There is an an oven. And a fridge. Andrea and Rachel were really helpful and friendly dog and quick to reply to questions. Really quiet location. Literally with the forest on boundary of garden. Loads of parking. Just a perfect place for our adventures. And so clean.

A clean and functional bathroom is equipped with a white toilet and a bathtub with shower. Soft towels are neatly arranged on a shelf above a small storage unit. A colorful shower curtain adds a touch of vibrancy, while a mat on the floor features a playful message.

The cottage was an amazing and peaceful getaway. The photos of it were beautiful but in person… even more beautiful! It has been done so well and it is so aesthetically pleasing everywhere you look. It is so quiet and every morning we were greeted by the gorgeous surroundings and the sounds only being in nature can provide. Cassandra was so sweet when we met her upon arrival. She had great recommendations for where to eat and things to see while we were in the area. She is truly a kind soul. We absolutely loved our stay and cannot wait to go back! 💗

Great place to stay as we were exploring Eureka and the Redwood National/State Park. There’s so many fun outdoor activities to do in the yard plus a ton of parks around the neighborhood. We appreciate Joan being so responsive and accommodating our check in time :) we also got to say hi to her fur babies, which were so cute!
