Cottage vacation rentals in Ampuero

Host and their family went out of their way to assist us. Together we looked through our trip itinerary and made additional suggestions where appropriate. They helped us when we broke down with a flat tire communicating with the rental car company to get us a new rental and tow truck. Our last day we thought we had left some items at the rental after we had checked out and they went back to open the house up to allow us to get back inside and find our items. Very friendly. The house was great and overlooks a valley with the towns below. We were visited by cows and sheep and all the snails and slugs natural to the area. After hiking, biking, and visiting the surrounding towns it was a nice relaxing spot to come back to. I would highly recommend!

Highly recommended. We spent two nights, a group of 8 friends. The house is beautiful, spacious, cozy, tastefully decorated, and has all the details. We were very comfortable, looking forward to repeating.

We stayed 2 nights in this beautiful cottage. The very well-equipped kitchen, jacuzzi and swimming pool very well cared for, and the neighbor's dog is very friendly. There are amazing landscapes around the area (we went to a beautiful waterfall). But above all, I would highlight the kindness and good communication with Veronica, she was very flexible and she was attentive to us when we needed it for punctual issues. ☺️ We would definitely repeat in this dream house ❤️ Thank you!!!

Antonio is a fantastic host. Super responsive and very helpful especially with recommendations for local walks and for helping with animal health certificate requirements for returning to the UK. The house was big enough for the 11 of us and there was plenty for all of us to do for the whole week we were there. Any issues we had were resolved incredibly quickly by Antonio. Just a short walk from the house is a lovely little cafe that sells baguettes, coffee and some alcohol - very reasonably priced but please note only takes cash which caught us out on our first visit. We visited Balmaseda a couple of times which has an incredible bakery which I would very much recommend. The train station is less than 5 minutes walk but we didn’t get the train whilst we were there - it may have been quicker to get to bilbao and something to check out if you visit again. We had a great time at Ana's place, the perfect location. Everything was clean and tidy.

We are very happy to have spent these days there. It was very relaxing, beautiful place. The welcome was really warm. The house is as described and very convenient. We are really happy. Small bonus for sharing with these two dogs and these 4 ducks. 😍

Ideal accommodation for a few days of rest and relaxation. As shown in the photos, everything is impeccable and the environment is wonderful. Patricia has been very helpful and kind. And... The bathroom in the jacuzzi is a must, spectacular! In addition, it is perfect for going with a pet. We'll repeat!

José Luis' house is very nice, we were welcomed by both of them and they were very nice, very helpful at all times and the truth is that it is a beautiful place to go

The house was very well maintained, clean and tidy. The garden is very large and completely enclosed, ideal if you are traveling with a dog. The area is very quiet with good walks, no shops nearby. Entry and out times were very flexible. Johanna was always very attentive to our requests.

The accommodation was in a nice area, with a great view of Santander and the bay, and very quiet. The location is very good to visit Cantabria, we went with a dog and a baby and it was very comfortable to move and visit things. On the other hand, Dany and she is very friendly and pleasant and was always attentive to if we needed anything, being very fluid communication.

The house was spotless, with everything you need to feel comfortable. The setting is beautiful, there is a lot of peace and quiet, and it has spectacular views. Laura, the host, was attentive to whether we needed anything, and left us some sobaos and quesada as a welcome. We went with family and friends to spend the weekend and we wanted to spend more days there. In short, we felt right at home.

The house is equipped with absolutely everything you need, including a welcome gift that we greatly appreciated. The house is perfect for a group of friends or family, with a magnificent garden to enjoy together. We loved the village. 100% recommended!!

A lovely home in the country but just a 10 min walk to the main street. It was so peaceful with the country noises in the background. Parking was in the yard and there were plenty of outdoor seating choices. Esmerelda and her Mum were very attentive at all times making sure we were happy. We visited Santander an easy day trip and stayed overnight to visit Bilbao. Absolutely loved our 10 night stay and highly recommend.

An excellent place to stay, the house is large, beautiful and very well equipped. We liked everything about the place, especially the fireplace, which they left us with wood ready. The setting is very nice and there are quite a few things to see nearby. Farid was very kind in welcoming us and made sure everything was perfect. It's a place to go back to and enjoy a few quiet days.

A wonderful house, in an idyllic mountain setting. The restored pasiega house is wonderful. Jose took care of us wonderfully at all times and as an exceptional touch he left the table set for Christmas dinner, a real treat. It was a pleasure to enjoy the house and the surroundings.

This house was absolutely breathtaking. Although it is not in a main city it is definitely close by and worth a stay. This place overlooks a beautiful vineyard and makes you feel like you're in a little oasis. The outdoor entertainment was amazing with an outdoor kitchen and barbecue that allows for wonderful nights enjoying your time. The views are incredible, the town is peaceful. Hosts were extremely kind, helpful and gave great recommendations.

Our stay at Javier's place was great. The house is very complete and comfortable. In addition, the site is surrounded by nature offering a lot of privacy to enjoy a few days with family. The owners are very friendly and have done everything to make us enjoy our stay to the fullest. Highly recommended!

We were 4 families (4 couples with 4 babies) and we were very comfortable!☺️ The accommodation is in a very quiet area It has two wonderful terraces and a spacious garden. The BBQ in good weather is a joy since outside there are several tables with enough chairs to enjoy that moment all together! All the rooms are spacious and have enough space to move around without problems, and the beds are very comfortable too! The layout and signage they have used inside the accommodation is very comfortable and clear, which makes Jaime's directions easy and comfortable to understand☺️ Jaime has responded quickly to any questions we may have had. I definitely recommend the accommodation! Many thanks Jaime!

We loved our stay at David's place. Fantastic location. 20 mins walk to Capricho De Gaudi (Fantastic place, don't miss), and a few minutes further walk to Comillas. Supermarket nearby too. The home itself is warm and comfortable with a sunny outdoor area with table/chairs and lounges. David is lovely and so helpful. Just something to be aware of is that the 2nd bedroom is upstairs and stairs are steep and narrow, so may not suit everyone. We would definitely stay here again if in the area.

The house is beautiful, in a quiet and very nice place. The bed was very comfortable and everything was decorated with style and great care. It's a vacation home, not a house, because you feel comfortable as soon as you enter. The kitchen had everything you could need and it was good quality. Raúl, the host, was very friendly and answered any questions in a short time. He tries very hard to make your stay go smoothly and that's how it was. We will remember our time there fondly, thank you.

Mari Carmen's house is in an enviable setting. Surrounded by nature and maximum tranquility, it allows you to completely disconnect from daily stress and enjoy its countless walking routes, as well as fantastic restaurants with local dishes at really interesting prices Marí Carmen was always very friendly and was waiting for us personally upon our arrival. She even gave us some cartons of milk that we had forgotten to bring. Being a small town, it does not have any shops where you can buy basic necessities such as milk, eggs, etc... and you need to drive 20 minutes to do so. However, there are several souvenir shops and typical products such as sobaos, chorizo, salchichón, ... You can easily park next to the house, as Mari Carmen provides you with a card that allows you to leave your vehicle in the historic center. If we return to Bárcena Mayor, we will definitely stay at Mari Carmen's house. Thank you very much and a hug
