Vacation rentals with a fireplace in Amber Valley

Durham House was perfect for our 3 generation (ages 76 -3) Golden Wedding anniversary family celebration. The kitchen was very well equipped and the children loved the well stocked games cupboard and 'secret' staircase. We all enjoyed the sheltered outside space and were able to sit outside in the sun. Tamsin is a great host, she sent us lots of very useful information about the house and local amenities and provided a generous welcome pack. We all enjoyed our visits to the Stone Centre and Carsington Water where there was something of interest for the whole of our party. An added bonus was the local well dressing carnival which took place over the Bank Holiday. We enjoyed watching the parade from the side of the house and then went into the village to watch the entertainment. We can also recommend the local butchers and the fish and chip shop. I think we might be back!

Kev was very accommodating for our family! The house was spotless and very well stocked! Highly recommended this beautiful slice of heaven!

The stable house was amazing! The grounds are gorgeous, and we would have been happy staying there all day. Oliver and his family were very kind and welcoming. Percy the Peacock was such a character! It was great to be able to start our hike right from the house. My group highly recommends!

Lovely comfortable central quirky accommodation with a great courtyard garden. Comfortable beds. Lovely and warm. Will be back.

This was a lovely little home perfect for our small family. As a family of 3, with our little dog the space suited us. The stairs were steep but the motion sensors ensured that you could see and it was safe. Our 2 year was really safe in the single bedroom as she couldn’t reach the latch on the door and there was nothing in there for her to break in arms length. The little touches and thoughts throughout were what made this place stand out. We brought our own dog blankets to protect the furniture but there were some provided already. A really good thought on how to protect this little home. The village itself was super friendly. Everyone you passed said hello. The local pub was really close and worth trying for a relaxing drink, or a not so relaxing drink with your toddler.

Beautiful house and unique. Well stocked kitchen and good sized downstairs bedroom. It was lovely to sit outside and listen to the birds…no traffic, just peace and quiet. The pool was very welcome on these hot days we have been experiencing.. a perfect temperature. Our hosts responded extremely quickly to any questions… it was a privilege to stay at The Round House

Fiona’s property was really quirky and lovely. Had a real wow factor when we walked in. We were only there one night but it was so comfortable. The property was equipped with an everything you could think of. A very lucky find.

Fantastic little cottage in Belper, great kitchen, lounge, bedroom, en suite bathroom and served three of us well (one on the sofa bed) for our time in Belper and Derbyshire. Thanks Eric!

Daniel is easily the best host I’ve ever had. We are two American students who moved to Nottingham for school and Daniel made us feel right at home. He provided endless recommendations, brought us anything we needed, checked up on us, and was always available. The apartment quickly became our home. It had all the amenities we needed: washer, dryer, iron, kettle, fireplace, hairdryer, etc. He even stocked toiletries and the like. The couch is great for naps and hanging around. The location is super convenient with a bus stop right by, grocery nearby, etc. Daniel is a friendly host who loves to provide his guests with a great experience. Would stay again 10/10.

What an adorable cottage right in the heart of Castleton! An excellent hiking trail right from the door - Mam Tor/Cavedale loop. The cottage was charming and had all the right amenities. The bakery across the street was fantastic! Cafe right next door for coffee/tea! The scenery was breathtaking and the drive up Winnats Pass was memorable! A definite A+ place! Marianne was responsive and very friendly!

I had an absolute incredible experience at Denise’s place, from the moment I arrived, everything was spotless, stylish and thoughtfully prepared. Check-in was easy. The space itself was better than the photos- beautifully decorated and cozy. The bed was super comfy and I appreciated all the little touches that made it feel homely. I couldn’t ask for a better experience and would certainly return in a heartbeat. Highly recommend this little gem for anyone visiting the area.

Thank you for a lovely stay. The flat was clean and quiet and beautiful. The location was great, right in the centre of Ashby. All the instructions were easy to follow for self check in and I really appreciated the update to say that the flat was ready before the check in time.

Super comfortable apartment, lovely beds and sofas. All the amenities you need, even tea coffee sugar and milk :) we would definitely stay again

We were visiting Buxton for 2 shows at the Opera House & the apartment is perfectly placed for this, being just a few minutes walk away, also the Pavilion Gardens and loads of places to eat & drink. Apartment is beautifully furnished and very well-equipped with pretty, sunny little cottage-style garden to front. The main bedroom is lovely, really comfortable bed. Our friend stayed in the basement bedroom and did comment that it was cold BUT he was very warm and comfortable once in bed. Wish we had stayed longer, if only to take advantage of the huge selection of dvds and books 😊. Thankyou, Heather, Kim and Lorna for a really great (too short) stay.

Had a great time , my son and I were fishing the River Wye , and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. My only caveat is the parking problem . As we were out all day we had to find a space each evening.

Had an amazing time at Holmdene in the Peak District. was perfectly located for all the walking and trips/tours we wanted to do in Castleton. Charlotte & Stuart were wonderful hosts who greeted us warmly on arrival and Charlotte gave us a detailed chat on all the walks we could do tho we didn't get to experience all of them in our short stay due to weather. We had a lovely evening in the pod with friends and we felt very at home in the apartment which was spotless and well equipped for all our needs and we would highly recommend Holmdene to anyone looking to stay in Castleton. we will definitely be back for more visits.
