The cottage is over 150 years old with walls 2 foot thick but has a very modern walk-in shower room and up to date kitchen. It is spacious, warm and homely - a veritable home away from home. All the basics that you may need are provided, including kitchen equipment, bedding, towels, soap, heating, lighting and power. There is a patio garden area to the rear of the cottage and off-street parking is available to the front.
“Sue’s place is definitely the definition of home away from home! It was comfortable, spacious, great for relaxation and also conveniently located for day trips all over the Lake District. I notice how many of her guests have returned many times. I can certainly understand why.”

“Great value and amazing location for exploring the Lake District. We were so impressed with the camping pod, and the facilities around it. The bird sanctuary was an excellent highlight along with the very clean and well heated toilet / shower block. One of the be at showers I’ve ever had, very hot with great pressure. Will be coming back again!”

“Graham has been a great host this week with fast communication to any querries and he was very flexible on our early arrival time... couldnt have been more helpful...Grahams cottage is situated in the heart of allonby village directly across from the beach, literally a stones throw away... we were lucky enough to have great weather for our week here and the sunsets on a couple of the days were stunning! The cottage is an ideal base for touring the area and offers a very comfortable base on your return... it is well equipped with everything you would need for a weeks stay or longer... the village has two pubs, a tearoom and a fish & chip shop, The Codfather... We ordered two lots of fish and chips on our lastnight and they were really good but i kid you not the fish are huuuuggggeeee so unless you have an equally huge appetite i would think one portion could be split between two people.... if you like some leisurley cycling we used the Hadrians cycle way down to maryport a couple of times and this is brilliant.... its safe as you are never riding on the road its either cycle path or promenade... its approx 5miles from Allonby to maryport using the track and we loved it... We also found a very good pub in Maryport called the Lifeboat in where they do an excellent Sunday cavery for £6.95 which to me was an absolute bargain and of great quality.... all in all we had a great week here at Grahams place and i would recommend it without hesitation”
