Staying here was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, host Sarah's warmth and hospitality made us feel instantly at home. The apartment itself is a haven—nestled by the shimmering lake, floor-to-ceiling windows frame breathtaking views of the water and surrounding mountains, flooding the space with natural light. Sarah went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, and we're extremely grateful. This place is an absolute recommendation!

Beautiful, spacious apartment in car-free village

LauraRating, 5 stars1 day ago
Beautiful Airbnb and incredible view! This is one of the best places we have ever stayed and we have stayed at a lot of Airbnb's. It is spacious and great for a family. The first bedroom and bathroom is off to the left before you enter the apartment, with a separate door entrance. The second and third bedrooms and bathrooms are within the apartment, along with the spacious kitchen and living room area. It is very kid friendly with bunk beds, toys and space. The patio, bedrooms, and living areas have amazing views of the mountains. The area is stunningly beautiful and a 2- minute short walk down the hill to the town of Murren with a Coop grovery stores, restaurants and cute shops. It is a 7 minute walk to the cable car station and a 10 minute walk to the train station. The place is up on a hill so hauling luggage up the gravel path takes some doing, but it is worth it for the view and space. It is nice and quiet! It is also very family friendly with toys. We hope someday to return!

Wengen apartment Steinbock Chalet Arvenhüsli

The hosts have thought of everything and more to make your stay comfortable! They were very responsive and went above and beyond to help us with some additional items we needed. The space was clean and peaceful. We cooked every morning and almost every night, and we had everything we needed. The sofa bed was the most comfortable we have ever slept on! As others noted, it is quite a walk (and mostly uphill on the way from town). Definitely recommend calling the taxi when you arrive to make it easier with luggage (and locating the house) - we thought we could do it and it was tough! Recommend their place above and beyond - just make sure you’ve considered that lengthy walk at the beginning and end of day, especially if you have kids and if weather is rainy (as it was most of our stay).

Our second trip to Switzerland and this was our first stop on the trip. We were blown away with the view! This place has it all. Views out of every window, radiant heat, hiking trails galore and everything you need for comfort. The duvets were like giant, soft puffy clouds! There is a restaurant literally right outside your door and nothing else but trails to different locations. Be mindful that the gondola to get here on runs from 8:30am-5-30pm so plan accordingly or you'll have a grueling 1.5-2 hour walk from the bottom. You cannot get here by car. We loved that part! Another pro tip - The 10 minute walk from the gondola to the cottage is a gravel road. We had to drag our suitcases to and from. It's uphill back to the gondola. But none of that will matter when you see the views from the gravel path and the living room window! This place is heaven on earth. Bettina was always quick to respond and super friendly. She made everything seamless! Book it!!
