“Susan’s place is absolutely amazing. We loved every minute of our stay. Cozy, clean, and comfortable. It stormed almost our entire stay but inside you could hardly tell. The cottage is well insulated, for sound and heat. You’d never hear anything from the neighbors despite it sharing walls. The curtains and shades were perfect for darkening the rooms. We lit the fireplace and cuddled up to a few movies. Adorable village setting, away from the hustle and bustle but close enough to still offer easy access to the sights and life of Lake District tourism. Thoughtful touches made it feel like home. We hope to return again!”
North Lodge is an immaculately presented semi detached cottage, sitting in an elevated position above the village of Allithwaite with far reaching views of Morecambe bay to the Lancashire coast. This superb cottage , formerly the lodge to neighbouring Boarbank Hall provides contemporary accommodation ideal for couples and families who wish to enjoy all the Lake District has to offer.
“Firstly, Carl & Mary were amazing hosts, responding to any queries we had immediately, offering excellent local suggestions and making us feel at home (we didn’t hear from them unless we needed something so we’re completely unobtrusive which is just what you want!) we turned up to some delicious chocolates and a bottle of bubbles (such a nice touch), milk, tea and coffee. The cottage was beyond what we expected, it had everything we needed and was the perfect cozy nook we needed for a few days away with friends for nye. Location wise, as long as you are happy to drive, it was perfect for us. Completely private and rural, SO much natural beauty with lots to explore and discover. Local pub was a 15 min walk away, although down dark country lanes so bring a torch if you’re having a few! F&B was simple, affordable and tasty. Nearest open corner shop was a short drive away (5 mins) but too far to walk. We will definitely be returning and couldn’t recommend it enough.”
The room is warm, comfortable and cosy, yet decidedly cool. There's loads of space for your stuff with a window that opens and the bed positioned to enjoy the open view. The bathroom is adjacent so no tiptoeing around when you're desperate for a pee!
“The pictures don't do this place justice - what a gorgeous home!! Everything is so clean, cosy, warm and homely, and is so well decorated. Andrea is so welcoming, hospitable and easy to communicate with - we had some great talks about life. Great provisions of towels, use of toiletries, hair dryer etc. And breakfast was such a treat! So much choice and she even bought extra supplies to cater to a vegan diet (soy milk etc) which was very much appreciated. Great location close to the village and also the wonderful walks in the fells. Wish I could've stayed longer and will definitely try to return. Thanks Andrea!”
