Kid-friendly vacation rentals in Alentejo

A really nicely done space that was pleasant to stay. Quiet & relaxing. Great host! Even gave us Americans our extra needed coffee 😎. Able to cook there too. Nice small market next door. Several typical restaurants on the same block. Close drive to the beautiful Comporta beach area. At dusk, there are a lot of mosquitoes outside, so bring bug spay.

My favourite Airbnb experience to date. It was stunningly decorated, cozy and inviting - we enjoyed spending time in the space in-between beach hangs and afternoon strolls in the area. Maggie was friendly, welcoming, responsive and kind. She was a wonderful host! The home is close to so many beaches, restaurants and things to do. Truly perfect location and experience over all. Not to mention, Maggie gave us incredible recommendations for restaurants and things to do. 20/10 recommend. A dream vacation in Lagos.

We had a lovely stay at Joaquim’s place. It is a large studio space (possibly a former dance studio?), with a well equipped kitchen. We loved the swimming pool and it was so welcome in the heat. Joaquim was very responsive to any questions we had during our stay and also provided good information on Moura. The supermarkets are conveniently close at hand, and everything in the town is walking distance. We tried a couple of restaurants - Vermulhudo and André’s - both really good with a lively atmosphere. We climbed to the top of the tower at the castle, had a boat trip at the Alqueva dam, visited the oil press museum and generally enjoyed Moura which is very pretty. Thank you for having us, we would love to come back.

We had a good time at Joanna's place. There was a great view, the location was great with beautiful beaches nearby. The accommodation and furnishings are quite simple, but the overall concept was very harmonious. We particularly liked the terrace with a small pool and direct access from the almost fully glazed living room.

A real getaway in the middle of nature! Encosta do Almargem is the ideal place to relax, recharge and let the children explore freely. The space is cozy, clean and very well maintained — everything thought out in detail. The outdoor area is wonderful for family barbecues, and the silence of the area invites you to rest. Lorenzo, 2 and a half years old, loved every moment! Thank you for your hospitality — we'll definitely be back!

Absolutely stunning location, absolutely nothing default, the only thing I would say is if you have mobility issues both the walkway up to the property and the stairs to the mezzanine bedroom could be a little bit challenging especially if you’ve had a few drinks, we are in our 60s and generally fitso it was no problem for us.

The Space of Mr. Paulo was extremely welcoming and clean, a very typical Alentejo house where we can find the necessary peace to escape the chaos that is the city. It has an excellent location and is situated in a quiet neighborhood where we have a grocery store and supermarket. The house is equipped for us to make our meals and is a few minutes from the center of Évora where we can absorb the culture of the city. The pool area was undoubtedly our favorite for its privacy and beauty. Speaking now of Mr. Paulo's great hospitality, he was excellent from the second we rented the house, from his enormous sympathy and availability, to the quick answers, he gave us a lot of tips on what to visit and get to know in Vimieiro and nearby. We feel captivated and at home and we certainly hope to be able to rent this accommodation again.

We loved our stay!! Joao was very attentive & checked on us a couple of times which I appreciated. Very comfortable home in a great location. We took an Uber from the bus station & walked everywhere while we were there. It was only a few days this time but will definitely be back!

Monica’s place was stunning… I felt like I was living in a magazine! Incredible view, beautiful decor, lovely lighting, very secure, and with all the amenities anyone would need. This place was dreamy and I highly recommend it! (And it had great wifi - I needed to conduct some video meetings for work and had zero issues). Would happily return! This place was great value and Monica was super responsive.

Cosy apartment, very well situated looking out over the rooftops of Alfama towards the Tagus river. Great area to stay, easy reach on foot to main attractions and plenty of tram stops if you didn't want to climb the many hills. Antonio gave us lots of recommendations for local places to eat and we found a wonderful cosy wine bar called Santa Pausa just seconds from the apartment block. The apartment was very comfortable with a glorious view which we shall miss. Thank you for a great trip!

Stunning view! The remarkable place is much better than the photos. When does that ever happen? We loved the location close to all safe surfing locations, yummy restaurants, and nice shopping. The kitchen is stocked with everything you’ll need, and more. Better than my kitchen at home. Crystal clear check-in instructions. The home is sprinkled with charming homey touches. You will fall in love with this place and will want to return. Don’t hesitate to book!

Raquel is one of the most communicative and responsive hosts I’ve ever interacted with on Airbnb. The location of this home is unbelievable. I fell in love with Albufeira from the first few hours i was there, and couldn’t believe how well-situated this place was to all the fun the area has to offer. ACs and most amenities worked well. I’m not sure if it’s a design related to homes in that area, but the open bathroom in the master bedroom, including the shower design, seemed impractical. I needed to rearrange items in that area, and wipe the floor/toilet after every shower. The iron was unusable due to a stain on the ironing surface, and risk of damaging clothes. The washing machine was small and not very effective. We needed to do a lot of loads to clean our clothes, then air dry them, but glad we had a washer! Overall, this is a great place, Raquel’s a great host, and i recommend booking, for anyone visiting Albufeira. Great for 2 ppl, but could accommodate a couple more too. Enjoy!

Alexandra was brilliant, the instructions for the apartment were some of the best we have received. Apartment was just as pictured and was beautifully done. Super comfortable and felt right at home. Location was great for walking from, with amenities close by. Couldn’t fault our time there!

Staying at Joana’s place in Lagos was the most heartwarming and memorable Airbnb experience we’ve ever had. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed - not just as guests, but as a little family. My wife, our baby, and I were blown away by the love and attention Joana poured into every detail of the home. The interior is simply stunning - unbelievably lovely, with an eye for exceptional decoration that makes the space feel not only stylish but deeply cozy and comforting. Every corner felt thoughtfully put together, inviting us to slow down and feel at home. One of our favorite features was the patio with its small pool, perfect for a refreshing dip during the warm afternoons. I don’t usually write reviews but I definitely feel this stay and Host should be an exception. I can’t say enough good things about Maria. She was informative, responsive, and thought about all the little things to make our stay seamless. She had a recommendation for all of our needs: from a late night printing location to homemade vegetable soup to a local pharmacy. We couldn’t have asked for a better host and to be honest we have never had a better host. As far as the stay, the apartment is pristine. The place felt like we were in a movie scene from the 19th century but with all of today’s luxuries. Very well thought out layout and setup. It is a 5th floor walk up but we embraced it as all a part of the experience. We left the windows open as much as we could as a nice breeze fills the unit. It feels amazing. The AC also works well and we used it at night when we preferred to keep the windows closed. The area is a short walk to so many restaurants and shopping. Perfect stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Duques Villa. Completely renovated historic property with plenty of room for two and all the modern conveniences. Extremely clean and comfortable. Relaxing outdoor area shaded by fruit trees with view of the river. Our host Lucinda was friendly, proactive, and responsive. Short drive or invigorating walk to city center. Recommended!

We had a fantastic week in Elisa’s apartment, the view is beautiful! So lovely to see and hear the sea everyday. It’s a short walk into town with lots of great bars and restaurants, we also easily got parked nearby. Elisa was a great host, very responsive and I recommend reading her blog with loads of great recommendations for exploring the algarve. Thank you Elisa!

The apartment is lovely, clean, well-equipped, and even more spacious than expected. The location is close to bustling neighborhoods, but the building itself is very peaceful and quiet. Would definitely stay here again!

The apartment is fantastic, like staying in a piece of history. Wilfried has taken great care with the renovations and has also kitted out the apartment with high quality bedding and toiletries. Kitchen is really well equipped and Wilfried provided a vast array of coffees and teas. The rooms and bathroom layout worked well for us, a family of five with three grown-up sons, so everyone had their own room and slept well. The location is perfect, very central and easy to walk to most attractions or use Uber for going slightly further out. Its in a busy location with a lovely atmosphere. We weren't troubled by any noise - the trams and bars also close relatively early anyway. Wilfried is great and pro-active communicator. Everything was clean and Eugenia was a delight to meet. Thank you, we would love to stay again.

A spacious and beautifully designed apartment in a recently (I presume) renovated building situated in an ideal location. The host was very helpful and informative and if you're looking for somewhere to stay in Lisbon look no further!

A great location to start expiring the area. The apartment is not located in the most touristy area but in the quieter part of the town. Very easy to walk down to the beautiful beach, restaurants or explore the area for a walk. Nat provided recommendations for the direct area but also for the surrounding area. The flat itself is perfect and has everything you can imagine. Nat went so far even bringing us a new citrus press when we talked about it at our arrival. Thanks again for this great service. So the only negative I can say is that you will have to leave at one point! Thanks for having us and definitely a recommendation.

We highly enjoyed our stay and it has been one of the coolest Airbnbs we have stayed at! With it being located at the highest point in Lisbon, the views from the balcony were unmatched. We were very fortunate to have Joana as our host as she was very responsive, communicative, and so helpful. She helped us reschedule a restaurant reservation without asking after our travels were delayed and we are very appreciative. She gave us great local tips and recommendations and they did not disappoint!! The walk back up to the Airbnb is not for the faint of heart, but you also have a stunning view every day you step out to the Do Monte and it’s worth it. We would absolutely stay again :)
