Family-friendly vacation rentals in Albany

We had a wonderful & relaxing weekend here with a large group for my sister's lowkey bachelorette party. Even with a day of non-stop pouring rain, we were perfectly content with staying in and enjoying the coziness of the house. We had a blast watching the chickens roam around and hanging out with the overly-friendly barn cats while we sat outside. The goats & pigs were happy to greet us at the fence every time. The hot tub and pool were perfect! Highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a beautifully scenic and peaceful getaway. Thanks, Sarah & BBVF team!

This is our fifth year coming to the farm. Larissa is absolutely masterful with kids of all ages (even tough kids). My daughter races out at 9 am to do farm chores and begs for more (and this is a kid who drags her feet doing chores at home)!! We love the rhythm of farm and find it really easy to disconnect and unwind. After chores in the morning, you're welcome to spend as much time as you want with the animals, which is a real treat. Whether it's feeding the horses hay, sharing food scraps with the goats, or watching the chickens do their evening routine, there's so much to enjoy. The local towns are lovely, but if you like the farm experience, you may never leave the property. Larissa is incredibly knowledgeable and generous in sharing her experience and expertise. She has created an absolutely magical environment, and I would highly recommend visiting!!

Leo and Michelle were very responsive with any questions we had, and even reached out to offer us an early check in. The location was close enough to our places of interest, while still being slightly rural. The place looked just like the pictures and we felt right at home. We will stay there again when we return!

Our second time staying at Maitopia with our cat, just as wonderful in a different warmer season. Tina was super responsive as usual and even accommodated a late checkout. We enjoyed feasting in the kitchen as well as grilling in the yard, floating around in the pool when it was warm enough out, "hiking" with our cat on a leash around the forest on the property, taking baths, streaming music. We didn't leave the property much, but it was a fun highlight to get a few local produce items at nearby Greig farm and meet the adorable goats. One tip- bring an eyemask if you're sensitive to light in the mornings- there aren't any window shades in the bedroom.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Wilderkill Barn. Maria Cristina and William were exceptional hosts—warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making our visit special. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. The home was a haven, with a hot tub, sauna, pool, fire pit, pool table, and immersive sound and movie systems—all of which made our stay delightful despite the cold, dreary May weather. We can't thank them enough. ***That said, we feel it's necessary to address a serious issue with Airbnb itself that arose while booking this property, unrelated to the property itself. An unexpected tax was added after booking, and Airbnb has yet to provide a clear explanation. After years of loyalty, we were disappointed by their evasive and unhelpful customer support. This experience has made us reconsider using the platform in the future. We urge potential users to scrutinize all fees carefully and be aware that Airbnb’s support may be difficult to navigate if problems arise.***

We had a great stay at the Hollywood Bungalow. House was described accurately and had so many thoughtful touches to make us feel welcome. Diana met us upon arrival and walked us around the property and the house. Such a great host! She had generously provided snacks, treats and gave a thorough overview for our stay. We were primarily focused on skiing at Jiminy Peak which was a short 20 minute drive. We also brought our 5 year-old rescue who had the best vacation of her life. She was able to use the fenced-in backyard to run around off leash and even meet a new friend when Jackson's dog visited. Diana even shoveled walking paths in the yard throughout our stay so we could get around in the high snow. The Screening Room is awesome and provided hours of entertainment. Quiet street and picturesque location. We will definitely return.

This comfortable, cozy, magical piece of Catskill paradise was the perfect place to gather to mourn the loss of my father and make some new family memories for a lifetime. Photography is a hobby of mine and the picturesque landscape allowed me to get lost in my passion. We cooked all our meals together in the well-appointed kitchen, challenged each other in the PacMan arcade game and cuddled up together to watch the stars shine and a movie on the comfy couch. We took long walks and met two local farm horses grazing freely in the local fields. The wonderful host was very accommodating and fast to respond. We loved her thorough recommendations for local dining, fun activities and nearby shopping. Book this cabin in the Catskills! You will not be disappointed! We will be back! ". . . there are deeper gorges, greater streams and higher mountains but in no other place is the combination so blended into a harmony so perfect as to form such tempting bits for the camera or the brush.”

Great place! We had a weekend of hiking planned, but with all the rain, we were glad to have use of all the inside amenities here! Sauna, bbq hut, she-shed, basement game room and comfy living room all left us fully entertained while it poured outside. Would love to come back someday!

We had a great time staying at L.J’s place. Our children loved app that there was to do and we took daily walks down to the frozen lake. Lots of fun sledding and relaxing!

The view was absolutely stunning and the environment was so peacefully quiet. The home is beautifully constructed and decorated with all the necessities and amenities. There’s plenty of space for the pups to run around safely, and the hot tub was amazing, especially with that view! William & Liz were excellent communicators and made the whole process incredibly simple. We’ll definitely be back!

I had a wonderful weekend and would highly recommend staying here. My mother and I went up for some peace and relaxation and, even raining all weekend, we both immensely enjoyed ourselves. The cabin was beautiful! The screened in porch, skylights, and fire pit made the environment perfect. Chris was extremely responsive on any and all questions I had in regards to what I could expect when getting to the cabin and made sure that everything was laid out clearly for us on arrival so we had very little questions on checking in/out and expectations while there. You are attached to Moose Cabin, and sometimes we could tell people were in the area when someone laughed too hard, but even that close, we never really heard the people next to us and never once saw them though we were outside often. It was definitely affordable and worth the money considering I felt at home with all the personal effects but had a hotel level of cleanliness.

Had an amazing time staying at the property! The views are breathtaking and space is something you have to see for yourself! We had a small wedding of 50 people and amos accommodated us completely! We will never forget our stay! I would give this a 1 million star if I could!!

The place was very nice and clean. I had no issues there I liked how the cottage looked and the hot tub is easily accessible. The only downside if service is spotty over there (as it is basically in the mountains). But she has free WiFi that worked very well.

The house perfect for what we needed. Plenty of space to spread out. Had everything we needed. Host was responsive when we needed anything. Will stay there again for sure. Great place.

Would absolutely stay again! Really loved the way they've updated the space but kept the classic touches of the house. Huge well appointed kitchen with everything you could need. Peaceful outdoor space with lots of privacy. And overall a very spacious house that feels like you could have a big group without getting in each others way. Ryan & Lauren were super on it. Will definitely recommend to friends.

We had a great weekend stay at Katherine’s. The Esopus Bend Nature Preserve is only a ten minute drive and we really appreciated the local recommendations provided in the binder!

Betty is such a fun and gracious host! Our place was pristine clean with a very well stocked kitchen-- plenty of utensils and nice little touches to mage itc warm and cozy. The river attracts lots of wildlife. Go to Northvill le for anything you might want or need. JF Farms has a great country store with a bakery next door!

This is a great place for vacation stay - clean and well maintained. Close to a lot of places, attractions, malls, and a variety of restaurants in the area. Joe is a great host - helped us with check in and made sure we are comfortable. We highly recommend!

This cottage was very lovely, cozy, clean, and just a few minutes from the town of Woodstock, but very secluded and peaceful on a beautiful property. The home was exactly as described and had everything you could need for a short stay. I do recommend having 4-wheel drive and a car with good suspension to get up the gravel road leading to the house. Cayenne is a wonderful host - she was extremely kind and easy to communicate with. I would definitely stay here again!

Robert and Sandra were so helpful in making sure we were able to get the experience we were hoping for. The cabin is beautiful and we enjoyed looking through the photos of its construction. It was clean, comfortable, and very private.

The barn was exactly what I needed for a few days away to reset. It is a beautiful home with all the amenities you could need. Julie is very intentional with the guest experience; the little touches made the stay even more wonderful. The location is perfect for access to everything Great Barrington offers, but you’re a little tucked away on a quiet, peaceful road. I loved the Old Red Barn and would recommend it to anyone passing through the area.
